Republicans blame Democrats’ anti-ICE rhetoric for Dallas facility shooting
Trump administration officials and Republicans are pointing the finger at Democrats as having incited violence against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel.
The latest in a string of physical attacks against federal immigration officers this year occurred on Wednesday at an ICE field office in Dallas, where a gunman whose rounds espoused an “anti-ICE” sentiment opened fire and killed one detainee while critically wounding two others.
The attack came two weeks after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated at a university in Utah.
Republicans are now seeking to draw a direct correlation between the threats and claims that Democratic politicians and far-left leaders have made against ICE and the increase in political violence. …

Trump Calls Out Democrats For ‘Demonizing Law Enforcement’ After Deadly ICE Shooting
President Donald Trump is calling on Democrats to end their demonization of law enforcement in the wake of a deadly shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Texas.
Twenty-nine-year-old Joshua John opened fire on an ICE facility in Dallas on Wednesday morning, killing two illegal immigrant detainees and injuring another, according to the Dallas Police Department. Authorities found “rounds” that contained messages that are “anti-ICE” near the shooter.
“This is despicable!” said Trump, who highlighted that the shooter wrote “anti-ICE” on his shell casings. “The Brave Men and Women of ICE are just trying to do their jobs, and remove the ‘WORST of the WORST’ Criminals out of our Country, but they are facing an unprecedented increase in threats, violence, and attacks by Deranged Radical Leftists.”
The violence is directly correlated to the rhetoric of the Left, the president said.

Vice President JD Vance delivered a fiery speech Sept. 24 in Concord, North Carolina, condemning political violence and tying recent high-profile crimes to what he called Democrats’ “soft-on-crime” policies and escalating rhetoric. …
Opening his remarks, Vance praised the officers standing behind him, telling them, “We love you. We’re grateful to you, and we’re always going to stand behind you.”
He framed public safety as a basic expectation of taxpayers. “You all pay your taxes. They go to safe streets and safe cities,” he said. “You ought to be able to enjoy the places that were built by your tax dollars.”

24 Hours Before Attack On ICE, NBC Ran A Hoax Accusing ICE Of Holding Child Hostage
Just 24 hours before a shooter opened fire on an ICE vehicle in Dallas, killing two and wounding a third, NBC News ran a hoax accusing ICE agents of holding hostage a 5-year-old girl in order to “pressure” her criminal suspect father to surrender.
NBC News’ Matt Lavietes wrote that “Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents held a 5-year-old autistic girl outside her Massachusetts home to pressure her father to surrender to authorities last week, according to the girl’s family.” …
But the narrative peddled by NBC News collapsed under scrutiny. Lavietes was forced to update his piece and issue a correction for blatantly lying.

Former FBI Director James Comey To Be Indicted ‘In Days’: Reports
With a five-year statute of limitations about to expire next Tuesday, Former FBI Director James Comey is expected to be indicted in the Eastern District of Virginia for lying to Congress during his Sept. 30, 2020 testimony, several outlets have reported.
The news comes days after President Donald Trump knocked AG Pam Bondi for inaction against perpetrators of the ‘Russia hoax.’
In a Saturday post to Truth Social, Trump slammed Bondi over three people who have committed alleged crimes and not faced criminal charges; Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), New York state Attorney General Letitia James, and former FBI Director James Comey.

Cupich needs fraternal correction: Why do so few bishops hold others accountable?
Bishop James Conley of Lincoln, Nebraska, like San Francisco’s Archbishop Cordileone, has backed the protest of Bishop Thomas Paprocki against the decision by the Chicago archdiocese to honor Senator Richard Durbin despite his unwavering support for abortion.
That makes three [there are now six to date], out of 440 bishops in the US, who are calling Cardinal Blase Cupich to account for this scandalous betrayal of fundamental moral principles.
As a group, the US bishops, voting in their conference, approved a policy stipulating that pro-abortion politicians should not receive public honors from Catholic institutions. Why is it, then that when a prominent prelate blatantly violates that policy, not even 1% of his brother bishops lodge a public objection?

64 killed in attack on Catholic parish [in the Congo]
At least 64 people have been killed in a brutal attack on a Catholic parish in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
A violent onslaught by members of the Islamist rebel group Allied Democratic Forces struck the parish of Saint Joseph of Manguredjipa in the village of Ntoyo, North Kivu province, in the dead of night.
At least 64 people were slaughtered—many of them hacked to death—while others were shot or bludgeoned. The victims had gathered for a mourning ceremony, unsuspecting and vulnerable, when machetes, firearms, and hammers were unleashed. Some attackers then set homes ablaze. Local officials say the assault was clearly premeditated.

I’d already been pondering this for some time when I stumbled across an essay that Carl Jung wrote in 1957 titled The Plight of the Individual in Modern Society. His opening reflections strike me as an apt description of the irrational and destabilizing phenomena we’ve witnessed in recent times. A ‘Pilgrimage of Hope’: Relics of St. Thérèse Return to the US After 25 Years
“I would like to travel over the whole earth to preach the Gospel,” St. Thérèse of Lisieux wrote in her autobiography, Story of a Soul. Although she never left France, her hope and desire took shape as her relics began traveling around the world. Next stop for this saint of the “Little Way” and doctor of the Church is the United States.
St. Thérèse’s relics are coming to the U.S. for the second time beginning Oct. 1, her feast day. Her relics will make 40 stops in 11 states, crisscrossing the country from coast to coast through Dec. 8. This tour is designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of her canonization, plus the Jubilee Year.
The first stop in this national tour will be at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak, Michigan, Oct. 1-8. The opening day falls on St. Thérèse’s feast day, and the visit also coincides with the shrine’s 100th anniversary as a parish.
