Iranian negotiators are ‘begging’ for deal while NATO dithers, Trump says
President Donald Trump warned Iran on Thursday to agree to his terms for a deal ending the war “before it is too late.”
The United States has been engaged in negotiations with Iran over the past week, sending a proposed settlement that was publicly rejected by the regime on Wednesday. Trump said Iranian officials have been more open to making a deal in private talks, and demanded they take negotiations more seriously, echoing comments he made Wednesday evening at the annual Republican National Congressional Committee fundraising dinner.
“The Iranian negotiators are very different and ‘strange.’ They are ‘begging’ us to make a deal, which they should be doing since they have been militarily obliterated, with zero chance of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they are only ‘looking at our proposal,’” Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social. “WRONG!!! They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty!”
The development comes after Trump announced on Tuesday he was pausing strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days, “SUBJECT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE ONGOING MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS.”

Rubio Says Talks With Iran Remain Fluid en route to G7
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday that negotiations to end the conflict with Iran are an “ongoing and fluid process” and that some progress has been made.
U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff said earlier at a Cabinet meeting that the Trump administration shared a 15-point peace proposal with Iran this week through Pakistani officials and described the talks as “strong and productive.”
Rubio spoke to reporters at Joint Base Andrews before heading for Europe to meet with Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers in France.

President Trump went off on NATO during a Cabinet Meeting on Wednesday went off on NATO again for their refusal to provide support to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as Iran blocks the flow of oil and shipping in the waterway.
President Trump has asked NATO and Asia for help securing the Strait, but they refused. The countries quickly rebuffed his demands and instead called for and instead urged the United States to end the war.
Last week, the President responded to NATO’s refusal, telling reporters, We don’t need help.”
“This was a great test because we don’t need them, but they should have been there,” he said, noting that “we as the United States have to remember that, because we think it’s pretty shocking,” he said.

ICE Officer Saves Baby Who Stopped Breathing at Airport
In the midst of somber news coming from airports undergoing a government shutdown and hectic, long, exasperating lines, a heroic Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer sprang into action after a baby suddenly stopped breathing at JFK International Airport in New York on Thursday.
The baby was stuck in a crowded TSA line with his family when he stopped breathing, according to a story by The Daily Wire.
Some video footage released by the Department of Homeland Security showed a man holding a baby, when he noticed something was amiss with the child and started to rush out of the line. Noticing the problem, an ICE agent ran over to help the man. The officer performed a Heimlich maneuver, and the baby started breathing again, the Homeland Security Department said.
