Trump added that ‘Iran cannot have a Nuclear Weapon’ as tensions between president and pontiff continue growing
President Donald Trump called out Pope Leo XIV for meeting with the “useless” Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson over the weekend.
“Someone should explain to the Pope that the Mayor of Chicago is useless, and that Iran cannot have a Nuclear Weapon!” Trump wrote on Truth Social Saturday.
Trump’s post came after photos emerged of Johnson meeting with the pope, who was born and raised in Chicago, last week at the Vatican.
“It was an honor to share time with a magnificent human, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, yesterday,” Johnson wrote on X Friday.
In a comment to Fox News Digital, the mayor’s office said, “Chicagoans have had more than enough of Trump’s blasphemous war in Iran. Someone should explain to the president that he’s only making it harder for working families to make ends meet.” …
Johnson led a Chicago delegation that included George Floyd family lawyer Antonio Romanucci on a trip Thursday to the Vatican. During their meeting, Johnson presented an array of apparel from Chicago, including a Chicago Cubs hat.

Franklin Graham Rebukes James Talarico: The Bible is Not Silent on Abortion
Pastor Franklin Graham sharply criticized Texas Democratic state Rep. James Talarico over his false claims about the Bible supposedly being silent on abortion.
Graham is calling it “an absolute lie” for the U.S. Senate candidate to claim the Bible does not condemn killing babies before birth.
Graham, CEO of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, responded after Talarico, the Democratic nominee challenging Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in November, asserted that his Christian faith somehow allows abortion.
“I trust Texas women to make decisions about their own bodies, to shape their own destinies in consultation with their family members, their doctors, their faith leaders. I don’t believe that’s a place for government,” Talarico said in a recent interview. “Jesus never talks about abortion. The Bible is silent on abortion.”

The double-double is a quintessential coffee order in the Great North. Every morning, Canadians go through the drive-thru at Tim Hortons, the coffee shop on virtually every street, and order it. Two creams, two sugars.
But there’s a new double-double up North: death and donuts. The National Post reported this week that a London, Ontario doctor provided a euthanasia assessment outside a Tim Hortons then drove the patient (who suffered from inflammatory bowel disease and a history of mental health issues) to the facility where a doctor ended his life.
The National Post also reported that the same doctor, James MacLean, breached protocols when he failed to give one of the three drugs used in the cocktail that ends patients’ lives. MacLean didn’t bring the neuromuscular-blocking drug with him that paralyzes the body — including the muscles used to breathe. “The patient resumed spontaneously breathing again after initially being pronounced dead, and after MacLean had already left the home.”

Hungary’s former ambassador to the Holy See, who has written a new booklet, recalls his first disorienting encounter with the old rite and explains how with this new work he aims to help others approach it with understanding and peace.
The traditional Latin Mass has become a point of both devotion and controversy in recent years, drawing growing numbers of young faithful even in the face of restrictions from Rome.
But for some, their first encounter with the ancient rite is marked by confusion before becoming a doorway into a deeper life of prayer and a renewed sense of the sacred. Helping to bridge that gap in understanding is one of the aims of a new booklet, Discovering the Latin Mass: A Travel Guide for the Curious, written as a simple, practical guide for those new to the liturgy.
Its author is Archduke Eduard Habsburg-Lothringen, a descendant of the Habsburg dynasty, who served as Hungary’s ambassador to the Holy See from 2015 to 2025. In the following May 27 interview with the Register, he explains more about his motives behind the book, how the Vetus Ordo (“Old Order”) has had a significant and positive impact on his and his family’s life and faith, and why he thinks it is growing in popularity among the young. He also shares his opinion on why the traditional liturgy generates so much impassioned support and opposition.

Nigeria’s population of roughly 240 million is divided almost equally between Muslims and Christians, with Muslims holding a probable plurality; no official religious census has been conducted since 1963. Nevertheless, several forces within the country are working toward jihad, Islamization, and the establishment of an Islamic caliphate.
The various Islamist actors have different motivations and often conflict with one another over policy and procedure. At the same time, they share the objective of removing Christian presence through killing, displacement, coercion, or demographic replacement.
Boko Haram and ISWAP have fought each other directly and have distinct ideological and operational disputes. Fulani militias are driven primarily by land seizure and demographic expansion rather than a formal caliphate ideology. The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), being Shia and Iranian-linked, is theologically at odds with the Sunni jihadist groups. These distinctions are documented and verifiable.
ISWAP and Boko Haram have explicit caliphate mandates and documented histories of forced conversion, making the elimination, subjugation, or absorption of Christian communities a stated component of their ideology. For Fulani militias, the objective is more accurately characterized as displacement, territorial control, and demographic replacement rather than forced conversion or extermination as an end in itself. However, forced conversion is one of the tools used to achieve this goal.
