Confidential Letter to Cardinals Suggests Just-War Debate May No Longer Be on June Consistory Agenda
The format for the June 26-27 meeting largely mirrors Pope Leo’s first consistory, with some changes.
A confidential letter to Cardinals and the detailed schedule for the next Extraordinary Consistory, scheduled at the Vatican for June 26–27, have come to light, suggesting that an explicit discussion of just-war theory may no longer be on the agenda.
The letter, published on Tuesday by the Italian website Messa in Latino, indicates that the meeting’s format will largely mirror that of the first consistory convened by Pope Leo XIV in January.
Participants will be divided into 20 groups: nine composed of cardinal electors serving as diocesan ordinaries, together with nuncios and cardinal electors who have concluded their service as ordinaries, and eleven comprising cardinal electors serving in the Roman Curia alongside non-electing cardinals aged 80 and above.
Although the letter does not explicitly refer to the “Conversation in the Spirit” method developed during the Synod on Synodality, the strict procedural rules and speaking time limits it prescribes closely reflect that approach.
However, the June gathering will allow for greater participation. More time has been allocated for free interventions, and each group of Roman Curia officials and non-voting Cardinals will be permitted to present its report once, for up to three minutes. This marks a departure from the January consistory, when those groups were instructed simply to submit their reports to the Holy Father by email.

Hormuz Normalization Begins As Saudi Supertankers Exit And A Flood Of Persian Gulf Oil Heads For Asia
Energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz are beginning to restart on Thursday after the interim U.S.-Iran peace deal, with several Saudi-controlled supertankers transiting the critical waterway and exiting the Persian Gulf.
There is a massive backlog of crude and LNG tankers in the Persian Gulf, preparing to exit the Hormuz chokepoint bound for Asia. Bloomberg says 31 supertankers, carrying about 62 million barrels of crude, could soon exit.
The actual number of crude and LNG tankers preparing to exit could be much higher, as some tankers may turn off their transponders. Once exited, many of those tankers are slated for ports in East Asia and will take roughly three weeks to arrive.
One of the key developments overnight was that three Saudi-controlled supertankers, including Bahri-controlled Saudi VLCCs Shaden, Jaham, and Awtad, switched on their transponders and began exiting the Persian Gulf.

Amendment To Make Service Academies Accept Classic Learning Test Added To Military Budget
Sen. Jim Banks, R-Ind., added an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2027 that would require military academies to accept the Classic Learning Test for admissions. The CLT exam is a standardized assessment that tests students in reading, writing, and mathematics, with a focus on classical and historical texts.
The amendment, passed by the Senate Armed Services Committee, would allow applicants to submit Classic Learning Test (CLT) test scores instead of those from the traditional SAT or ACT.
“I was proud to secure this amendment to help our military academies attract the best and brightest young Americans,” Banks said in a press release. “We should be looking for future military leaders in as many places as possible and accepting the CLT exam is an important step in that direction.”
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth previously promised that he would work to authorize the use of the CLT in service academies, calling the exam the “gold standard.” Although Hegseth already directed the academies to accept the CLT, Banks’ amendment would make it more difficult for future administrations to undo the decision.

[Colorado] Students Pressured Into Homosexual Kissing by Teacher
In a bizarre scandal, a Colorado lesbian school teacher coerced children into kissing one another. Parents and victims are outraged as the teacher has yet to be prosecuted. Here’s the scoop.
Students at a government high-school in Denver were reportedly pressured by a lesbian teacher to engage in same-sex kissing during a graded class assignment, sparking outrage from parents and victims. The scandal resulted in the educator’s dismissal. So far, however, there is no indication that the teacher will be prosecuted.
According to complaints filed by multiple students and other faculty, high-school foreign-language teacher Jennifer Honka at Northeast Early College had female students act in “plays” and kiss other females. The bi-weekly skits included titles such as “The Neighbors Saw Everything” and “The Boring Kiss,” which featured three homosexual kissing scenes.
Clearly, many of the students were not pleased with what was happening. “The student was very uncomfortable and did not know what to do,” explained an official report citing victims and describing the homosexual kissing demanded by the teacher. “She went ahead and kissed another student at [Honka]’s direction.” Some walked out.

Trump Should Cut Ties With Starmer Government Over UK Rape Gang Scandal by Breccan F. Thies
Trump should treat the U.K. like the hostile Third World country it has become until it rediscovers Western justice and morality.
The entire Western world was stopped in its tracks this week with the release of Britain’s Rape Gang Inquiry Report, documenting the industrial-scale sexual abuse of thousands of British girls at the hands of Pakistani Muslims.
While anyone with a functional cultural reference point might not have been surprised by those results generally, the fact that successive governments of the United Kingdom decided to look the other way and protect the rapists requires any moral government to make a pariah of the U.K. until it can prove it is equipped and willing to protect its own people. The United Kingdom’s repeated failure to do so requires President Donald Trump to cut ties with the U.K. until it proves itself a viable member of Western civilization again.
The report, spearheaded by Restore Britain Leader and Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe, states that “at the very least, 250,000 young white girls have been subjected to repeated rape, gang rape, trafficking, torture, pregnancy, forced Islamic conversion, and lifelong trauma,” and estimates that between 87 percent and 95 percent of perpetrators were Muslim.
While most objective observers might have assumed it was almost entirely Muslim — and predominantly Pakistani — men perpetrating these heinous offenses, perhaps few would have guessed at how uniformly the perpetrators belonged to that demographic, or imagined the scale of the evil they wrought on British society.
By way of comparison, the Rape of Nanking during the Second Sino-Japanese War saw somewhere between 20,000 and 80,000 rapes, according to eyewitness accounts and subsequent research.

Archdiocese of New York reports progress toward $800M abuse settlement as survivors weigh deal
An $800 million settlement proposal between the Archdiocese of New York and more than 1,300 clergy abuse claimants is putting a decades-long chapter of the Church’s abuse crisis at a pivotal crossroads, with survivors weighing not only financial compensation but also new transparency measures aimed at accountability and healing.
The New York Times reported June 15 that every plaintiff must choose to accept the terms by a late June deadline for the settlement to move forward, and the law firms that are representing the majority of the plaintiffs have encouraged acceptance of the settlement rather than proceeding with the lawsuit and pursuing more money. According to the Times, the plaintiffs would most likely receive less money if the archdiocese files for bankruptcy.
Those terms are that the plaintiffs will receive a one-time lump sum of $250,000, and the archdiocese would need to publish on its website the names of the people credibly accused of abuse, update that list with any future allegations, and publicly make available at Iona College copies of documented cases of abuse, according to the Times.
