Chip Roy Wants To Revisit Legal Immigration Levels After ‘Egregious’ Birthright Citizenship Ruling
In light of the Supreme Court ruling upholding birthright citizenship, Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy is looking to overhaul legal immigration in America, the Daily Caller learned.
Roy sent a letter to members of President Donald Trump’s administration Thursday requesting the total number of legal immigrants who have come to the United States since the beginning of the term, according to text obtained by the Caller. Roy argued it is crucial to maintain “sustainable” immigration levels in light of the “egregious” ruling to “ensure they do not adversely affect the American people’s economic opportunities, cultural and social cohesion, or security.”
“Securing our country from mass migration means addressing both illegal and legal immigration,” Roy told the Caller. “At a time when housing, schools, healthcare, and other public services are under increasing pressure, Congress needs a full accounting of how many legal immigrants have entered the United States since the start of this Administration.”
“The American people deserve transparency so we can ensure our immigration system puts American workers, taxpayers, and communities first.”
Roy also noted the massive influx of illegal and legal immigration, with the overall migrant population totaling 53.3 million or 15.8 percent of the American population as of 2025. Because of these record numbers, foreign nationals have flooded the American labor market, many of whom fail to assimilate and, in some cases, even have “criminal backgrounds or subversive ideologies.”

Tennessee Congressman Demands FBI Unseal Everything On Seth Rich
Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn, has thrown a fresh spotlight on one of Washington’s most stubborn cold cases.
On July 7, 2026, the Tennessee Republican posted on X that he had formally pressed FBI Director Kash Patel to surrender every document the bureau holds on the 2016 killing of DNC staffer Seth Rich.
“I have called for @FBIDirectorKash to release all records related to the death of Seth Rich,” Burchett wrote.
His press office added, “Today, I sent a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel asking for the release of all records related to the death of Seth Rich. The American people deserve answers.” …
Rich, 27, was shot and killed while walking home in Washington during the early morning hours of July 10, 2016.
Police treated the case as a botched robbery, and it stays unsolved.
Rich’s death later fueled a viral theory that he leaked DNC emails to WikiLeaks and was silenced for it.

Rep. Valli Geiger Announces Platner Is Backing Her Run for Senate as His Replacement
Embattled socialist and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner will reportedly throw his support behind Maine State Rep. Valli Geiger to take his place on November’s ballot.
ABC affiliate WMTW reported on Wednesday that Platner called her on Monday night and said he was throwing his support behind her.
“He said ‘Valli you are a fighter, you have been with this movement since the beginning,’” Geiger told the news outlet.
She added that she was “heartbroken” by the allegations against Platner.
Geiger responded Tuesday on social media to the rape allegation against the Senate candidate by Jenny Racicot from Maine, writing, “I will not throw Graham under the bus, but neither will I slander or accuse Ms. Racicot of anything more than telling the truth as she experienced it. I acknowledge the pain on all sides and offer compassion on all sides.”

Priest on administrative leave arrested, charged with receipt and possession of child pornography
U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced today that Jeffrey Nowak, 46, of Lackawanna, NY, was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with receipt and possession of child pornography, which carry a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison and a maximum of 20 years.
According to the criminal complaint, in August 2019, the defendant, a priest in the Diocese of Buffalo, was placed on administrative leave as an investigation was conducted following allegations of inappropriate contact with children and harassment of a seminarian. In December 2019, an email address linked to Nowak, pigboybuffalo@gmail.com, was identified as an address that accessed a New Zealand cloud-based digital storage and file-hosting website/application, which contained photos and videos files of sexually exploited children. In May 2021, the FBI conducted an investigation, executing a search warrant for the email address pigboybuffalo@gmail.com, however, no child pornography was found, and the investigation was closed in July 2023.
In late 2025, the FBI Criminal Division’s Violent Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Section, Child Exploitation Operational Unit (CEOU), received a referral from law enforcement located in Scotland related to a Telegram group whose members participated in group Zoom calls during which members were observed viewing and sharing child pornography. Investigators linked one of the participants to the username PigBoy666, which was later identified as Nowak. As a result, the investigation into Nowak was re-opened by FBI Buffalo in March 2026.

‘Secularism is the removal of religion from society’ — An Interview with Pierre-Hugues Barré [French lawyer and academic teaching in Hungary]
‘The state is supposed to be neutral, but at the same time, laïcité [secularisl] became a weapon for the state to remove religious influence in society’
Q: My first question is actually a borrowing from a conference title: Is French secularism (laïcité in French) a ‘sword’ or a ‘shield’?
A: This topic, laïcité as a sword or shield, was a topic I used for a conference at the Oxford Law School a few years ago. If you’re looking for the translation for laïcité in the dictionary, you will find the word secularism. However, I don’t believe that this is the same phenomenon. I would say secularism is linked to atheism. Secularism is the removal of religion from society. At the same time, laïcité applied in the institutional field is like a break between religion and the state. Laïcité is applied in the UK, in Norway, and in Sweden. In Sweden, the separation between the church and the state only came into effect in 2000. At the same time, almost no one is a believer in Sweden, you know.

Canonization cause for Mother Angelica’s spiritual mentor, Rhoda Wise, reaches next step
A positio for Servant of God Rhoda Wise was submitted to the Vatican. She has been associated with hundreds of unexplained, miraculous healings in the United States.
The canonization cause for Servant of God Rhoda Wise crossed another hurdle after formal documents that outline her life, heroic virtues, and holiness were submitted to the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Causes of Saints.
Wise — who was born in 1888 in Cadiz, Ohio, and died in 1948 in Canton, Ohio — was a laywoman and a mystic who received visions of Jesus Christ and St. Thérèse of Lisieux. In 1939, she reported a miraculous healing of her stomach cancer and a wound that doctors told her was incurable.
She was raised Protestant but was introduced to Catholicism by religious sisters during her hospital stay, where she developed a strong devotion to the rosary and St. Thérèse.
After news of the miracle spread, hundreds of people visited her home weekly, with whom she would pray. Hundreds of those who visited her home both during and after her lifetime reported miraculous, unexplained healings including EWTN Founder Mother Angelica, who developed a close friendship with Wise after being healed of a stomach ailment.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s War on Christians
A new 2026 annual report, “Scapegoats: Rights Violations Against Christians in Iran,” published by Article18 in partnership with Open Doors, Christian Solidarity Worldwide and Middle East Concern, sheds an alarming light on the persecutions of Christians in Iran.
House churches have been labeled as enemy groups. IRGC involvement in raids tends to be characterized by increased brutality.
The IRGC agents, singling out whoever was wearing a cross, tore them off and conducted body searches. After they wounded several individuals, the agents blocked emergency medical personnel who attempted to assist them.
Last month, regime security forces moved to seize Saint Peter Evangelical Church in Tehran. They ordered residents of the church compound to leave their homes, and worshippers were told to find a different church. The seizure of Saint Peter, built in 1876 and also known as Qavam Church, and the eviction of its residents, who belong to Iran’s recognized Armenian and Assyrian Christian communities, come after a state organization moved to enforce a court order issued nearly 30 years ago. The order, issued by a Revolutionary Court in 1998, ruled that the entire church compound — around 10 acres, which includes two schools and dozens of homes — should be handed over to the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order.
