Iran faces massive new triple-threat as Hormuz begins to open, cash gets tight and pols call to end the war
Iran’s supreme leader is under mounting pressure over the war — as the regime’s grip on the Strait of Hormuz weakens, cash finally starts to get tight and top political leaders publicly urge the Islamists in charge to find a way out of the conflict.
The latest phase of the conflict has seen more and more ships quietly slipping through Hormuz, with nearly 200 vessels sailing through the strait last week, according to data from the UK Maritime Trade Operations Center.
The flow represents a 400% spike in the last two weeks, with maritime analysts Kpler noting that the traffic finding safe passage — aided by US Navy escorts — effectively means Iran has lost partial control of the strait.
And while more ships and oil are getting out, Iran’s own oil exports have dropped to near zero, under the renewed American blockade on its ports and President Trump’s “economic D-Day” measures. …

Vice President Vance accused Democratic Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed of supporting Islamic Sharia Law during a speech in Ohio on Friday, saying: “I’d love to go back in time and tell my papaw that there’s a man who claims to stand for working people who says not only should we have Sharia law, but if you criticize it, you’re a white supremacist. That’s not my papaw’s Democrat Party, my friends.”
This is not, unfortunately, JFK or FDR’s Democratic Party. Hell, it’s not even Bill Clinton’s Democratic Party. This is the party of diversity quotas rather than opportunity for all.
This is the Democrat Party of graduate students rather than the union and non-union workers who make this facility run. It’s sometimes actually hard to understand: What do these modern Democrats actually stand for?
But look at what they say. Pay close attention, and they’ll leave these little hints of what they actually care about.
Now, El-Sayed, this guy running for Senate in Michigan, he once argued not too long ago that criticisms of Sharia law were rooted in white supremacy. The Lindsay Clancy murder trial seems to be an open and shut case. Her attorney freely admits that she did indeed strangle her three children to death. That should be it, right? She’s found guilty after a short trial and sent to prison (although she deserves far worse).
Yet this case has become an internet firestorm. TikTok-addicted women, itching for the chance to be the amateur sleuth who breaks open the case like in their favorite true crime podcasts, have spun all kinds of conspiracies trying to exonerate Clancy.
They’ve come up with a range of bizarre theories that ignore the plain facts of the case, from the classic “her husband did it and gaslit her” to the theory that she’s the victim of a deliberate scheme concocted by a cabal of nefarious doctors. Even the queen of conspiracy-mongering herself, Candace Owens, has come out in defense of Clancy, declaring her “obviously not guilty.”

Save Europe Act Hits 700,000 Signatures as Organizers Prepare EU Court Fight
The Save Europe Act has passed 700,000 signatures less than three months after its launch, pushing the pan-European anti-immigration and remigration campaign towards its one-million target despite the European Commission’s refusal to register it as an official European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI).
Announcing the achievement on her X page, Dutch activist and co-founder Eva Vlaardingerbroek said that the next steps are ‘reaching one million and going to court’ against Brussels.
The initiative, launched on 31 May by Vlaardingerbroek and Austrian activist Martin Sellner, demands a moratorium on new non-Western and non-European immigration channels, stronger external borders, rapid screening and return procedures, systematic deportation of illegal migrants and rejected asylum seekers, mutual recognition of return decisions, restrictions on migration-related welfare incentives, and an EU-wide framework for voluntary and incentivized remigration.

Poland Shows How Religion Can Be Removed from Public Life Without Being Banned by Miłosz Manasterski
Administrative secularisation is quiet by design. Its instruments are technical; its consequences are not.
No one in Poland has banned the teaching of religion in schools. No law has been passed, no constitutional amendment adopted, and no concordat with the Holy See renounced. Yet a series of regulatory decisions is making religious instruction less accessible and less significant within the public school system. The Polish case illustrates a broader institutional phenomenon: administrative secularisation—reducing religion’s place in public life through technical rules rather than an explicit democratic decision to exclude it.
The mechanism unfolded in stages. First, a July 2024 regulation issued by the Ministry of Education allowed schools to combine students from different grades into a single religion class. In practice, this contributed to the lessons being placed at the beginning or end of the school day. Next came a decision that grades in religion would no longer count toward a student’s grade point average. Finally, a January 2025 regulation cut instruction time from two hours a week to one.
Taken separately, each step can be presented as a technical adjustment to school organisation. Taken together, they reveal how administrative choices can change the practical status of a subject without abolishing it. Piotr Janowicz, president of the Association of Lay Catechists, described the process bluntly: “The purpose of these changes is to usher religion and ethics out of the schools through the back door.” He added: “We were completely left out of the consultations.”

As long as the authorities allow asylum seekers to enter through official border crossing points…the border is not really secured.’
During the summer of 2015, hundreds of thousands of asylum seekers from almost 100 countries trekked through the Western Balkans towards the southern border of Hungary. Since it was impossible to conduct security checks on such a vast number of people, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán—going against the Wilkommenskultur characteristic of the era—adopted a hardline, restrictionist approach and moved to close the border to asylum seekers and economic migrants. A fence was constructed and later upgraded multiple times, while laws were amended that together successfully halted migration flows across Hungary’s southern border by the end of 2015. More than a decade after the start of the crisis on the Serbian border, however, the struggle to keep the border secure is not over. Since 2015, more than 1 million illegal border-crossing attempts have been detected along the fence.1 Therefore, rather than a one-off infrastructure and legal project, the ever-changing situation on the Western Balkan migration route—as well as the interventions of EU institutions—requires constant vigilance and adaptation on the part of the Hungarian actors involved in securing the southern border from irregular migration flows. …

Nigeria Christian Community Leader Alleges Land-Grab Agenda Behind Massacres
Twenty-six Christians were buried in a mass grave following the August attack on Bin Per, carried out by Fulani Islamists. Sokden Mathias, 52, Director of the Cultural Mogavul Development Association in Mangu LGA, Plateau State, reported that eyewitnesses estimated the attacking force at more than 500 people.
Mathias, speaking from Mangu Local Government Headquarters, said the Mogavul people, predominantly farmers, had coexisted peacefully with Fulani herdsmen in the area “from time immemorial.” He said the security situation began deteriorating around 2018, when Fulani herders started rustling cattle from indigenous Mogavul farmers, but attacks intensified sharply after Governor Caleb Muthuang, an indigene of Mangu LGA, was sworn in in 2023. Mathias said nearly 30 communities in the area have since been sacked and taken over by Fulani herdsmen.
Mathias said the pattern of attacks is not consistent with ordinary farmer-herder land disputes, which he said have historically been resolved through a traditional institution that includes Fulani representation. Instead, he alleged a coordinated land-grabbing agenda, saying attackers burn churches before destroying the rest of a village, and that communities are occupied and held by Fulani settlers afterward rather than vacated.
