The Civil Rights Division Plans to deploy 1,000 monitors to polling sites across the country amid mounting election integrity concerns.
… Some mighty strange things have happened in the Brew City’s [Milwaukee] election administration over the years, much of it well-documented in the pages of The Federalist.
In its latest election mess, Milwaukee election workers, according to the Milwaukee Election Commission, mistakenly downloaded audit log files instead of results on five of nine data sticks. The glitch stalled the release of Wisconsin’s August 11 primary election results, including the final tally in a nationally-watched race for the Democrats’ candidate for governor. Interestingly, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, who had quit the campaign amid basement level polling numbers only to be dragged back in by the Democratic Party “establishment,” narrowly defeated state Rep. Francesca Hong, a Madison radical socialist with a grudge against Thanksgiving and very little chance of winning the general election.
The feckless Wisconsin Elections Commission will once again do nothing to hold the Democrat-led city accountable for the “human errors” that have shredded election integrity over the past several election cycles.
Milwaukee is the poster-child for the necessity of federal election monitors. There are several other blue cities that have run roughshod over election integrity.

Beverly Vance Aikins took issue with El-Sayed referring to her grandchildren as “brown kids” and suggesting there is something “awkward” about her son marrying and having children with second lady Usha Vance.

CNN host and former advisor to President Barack Obama Van Jones questioned if Michigan Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed thought he was “smarter than Barack Obama” on foreign policy in fiery comments discussing the “dangerous” beliefs held by many progressive figures in the Democratic Party.
El-Sayed, a vocal critic of Israel and former CNN commentator, has been embroiled in political controversies regarding his stance toward Israel and his relationship with a famous left-wing livestreamer, Hasan Piker.
In late August, Jones appeared on the “Ask Haviv Anything” podcast, where he addressed how the long and historic alliance between Black and Jewish Americans has recently fractured. He went on to criticize El-Sayed over his stance on Israel, saying, “his positions on Israel and foreign policy are insane.”

Spain Stands with Ceuta as Hundreds of Thousands Rally against Pedro Sánchez
Hundreds of thousands rallied across Spain on Ceuta Day demanding stronger border controls, expulsion of illegal migrants and Pedro Sánchez’s resignation, while solidarity protests also reached the European Parliament in Brussels. The demonstrations came as a police intelligence report described July’s mass invasion from Morocco as ‘planned’, deepening pressure on the government.
Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets across Spain on Wednesday in solidarity with Ceuta, demanding stronger border controls and condemning Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s handling of the migration and security crisis that has gripped the Spanish enclave since more than 80,000 illegal migrants entered from Morocco at the end of July.
The demonstrations were held on Ceuta Day and followed a nationwide call by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which urged local authorities to rally under the message ‘Ceuta somos todos’ (‘We are all Ceuta’). Protesters carried Spanish and Ceuta flags and repeatedly chanted ‘Ceuta no se vende, Ceuta se defiende’ (‘Ceuta is not for sale, Ceuta will be defended’), while calls for Sánchez’s resignation were heard across several major demonstrations.

Iraqi prime minister calls return of Christians a national priority
The appeal comes as fewer than 300,000 Christians remain in the country following decades of instability, attacks, and migration.
Iraq’s prime minister called the return of Christian families a national priority, pledging government assistance to encourage those living abroad to return, according to recent reports.
Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi announced the effort during a July meeting in Baghdad with Chaldean Patriarch Paul III Nona, according to The Catholic Weekly.
“The return of Christians who were forced to leave the country due to the difficult circumstances Iraq endured is a national and government priority,” al-Zaidi said according to the outlet.
Al-Zaidi also pledged government support for Christian families moving back to Iraq.

Cardinal reinstates a priest who defends LGBT rights, accused for the tenth time of sexual abuse
Cardinal Cupich has allowed the heterodox father Michael Pfleger, who has “blessed” homosexuals and supported the “ordination of women,” to return as the chief parish priest of a Chicago parish.
Cardinal Blase Cupich, the heterodox archbishop of Chicago, reinstated leftist Father Michael Pfleger last week as the chief parish priest of the church of Santa Sabina on the south side, after a review board said there was “no reason” to believe that the priest was guilty of his tenth charge of sexual abuse.
In a statement on August 24, Cupich announced that Father Pfleger, who has a long history of contradicting Catholic doctrine on homosexuality, female “ordering”, papacy and supporting pro-abortion and left-wing politicians, has been acquitted of an accusation of sexual abuse of a minor filed in July and dating back more than 30 years, after the investigation of an “independent review board”.
Since 2021, the priest has been accused of sexual abuse on five occasions before being acquitted and allowing him to resume his heterodox “ministry” after an “investigation.”
“With regard to this case, the Review Board has concluded that there is no reason to believe that Father Pfleger is guilty of this accusation. After careful consideration, I have accepted his conclusion and restored Father Pfleger to his ministry at St. Sabina, with immediate effect,” Cupich wrote in the statement.

The Greatness of the First St. Gregory by Stephen P. White
Today the Church marks the feast of St. Gregory the Great, pope and doctor of the Church. He was born around 540, just a few years before the death of another great European saint (and co-patron of Europe) Benedict of Nursia. The lives of these two men are similar in interesting ways. But the ways in which their lives ultimately diverge also reveal something about how the Lord provides for his Church.
Gregory was born into one of the great families of Rome. Among its members were many senators, consuls, and more than one emperor. Gregory’s father was a senator and his great-great-grandfather was Pope St. Felix III.
Rome, in Gregory’s day, was a shell of its former self. The sack of Rome by the Visigoths in 410 (which spurred Augustine to write The City of God) had been followed by an even more devastating invasion at the hands of the Vandals in 455. The Western Empire collapsed in 476.
Rome itself, which at its imperial peak boasted a population of more than 1 million, had shriveled to just 30-40,000 inhabitants by the middle of the sixth century. War, plague, and the other miseries of imperial collapse had transformed Rome terribly.
