Poll Shows Democrats Want To Deep-Six Not Just Trump But The Entire American Order by Nathan Stone
We are well past the time of thinking we can sit out of politics because we might not have gotten everything on our political wish list.
Thirty-one percent of registered Democrats want President Trump assassinated, and 59 percent would support the American military overthrowing the validly elected president as long as the coup was done to “protect the Constitution.”
These were two of the most jaw-dropping takeaways from a recent poll conducted by Chance Phillips and the Center for Strategic Politics about what Democrats are thinking. And, naturally, they were the poll results that gained the most attention.
If those were the only things this poll revealed, you might be able to explain it as the logical end form of Trump Derangement Syndrome. You can only call someone a Nazi, Hitler, fascist, and authoritarian for so long before people think they’re part of the Department of Ungentlemanly Warfare. But the poll’s other results show that TDS cannot be the simple explanation.

With control of Congress now at stake, Trump makes Iowa steel plant announcement a big tent event
The president announced that Mesabi Metallics, owned by the Essar Group, one of India’s largest multinational conglomerates, will build the major steel plant.
President Donald Trump, in his announcement Monday of a new steel plant in Iowa, invited several women and two business executives from India to the Oval Office event – a move that suggests the president understands that the GOP must continue to show its appreciation for a cross-section of likely voters beyond its base to keep control of Congress. …
“Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Mesabi Metallics will be building the largest steel plant in American history in the great state of Iowa,” Trump said. “This steel will be mined, melted and made right here in the USA. The project is expected to create up to 6,000 new construction jobs, nearly 2,000 manufacturing and mining jobs, and another $95 billion to the U.S. economy.”
The announcement also featured female lawmakers in Iowa who are facing tough elections in November, despite Iowa being a strong red state in recent elections. GOP Rep. Ashley Hinson is running in a tight race for retiring GOP Sen. Joni Ernst’s open seat and Iowa GOP Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks is seeking reelection in a tight race against Democratic nominee Christina Bohannan.

Prostitution Is Booming In Mamdani’s New York City
As a New York State Assemblyman, Mamdani co-sponsored legislation that would decriminalize consensual prostitution.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani admires former Mayor Bill de Blasio’s soft stance on prostitution, and the city is now feeling the consequences.
Prostitution-related arrests along Queens’ notorious Roosevelt Avenue have fallen sharply, and local leaders say the sex trade there is flourishing. A 40-year-old Manhattan man identified only as John told the New York Post he gladly rides the subway out to the stretch known as the “Market of Sweethearts” because prices are low and police, in his telling, can do little to stop it. Along the corridor, sex workers reportedly solicit passersby openly. New York repealed its law prohibiting loitering for the purpose of prostitution in February 2021.
Police made 193 prostitution-related arrests along Roosevelt Avenue through September 13, compared with 468 during the same period last year, a decline of nearly 59%, according to NYPD figures reported by the Post.

Holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy trial speaks publicly for first time
Speaking for the first time, Michael Desronvil, the holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy trial, thanked his supporters in a video aired by Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday night.
Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse from Connecticut, was charged with murder in the deaths of her three children — Cora, Dawson and Callan Clancy — who she strangled in their Massachusetts home in 2023.
Speaking directly into the camera, Desronvil said he knew the focus had been on him. “But we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels that’s at hand. The ones that can’t speak for themselves, the ones that can’t defend themselves, and the one that can’t fight the battles,” referring to Clancy’s three children.
The trial ended with a hung jury after more than a month of testimony from dozens of witnesses. The jury remained deadlocked on whether Clancy bore criminal responsibility in her children’s deaths. Her lawyer, Kevin Reddington, had not disputed evidence that she committed the killings, but argued she had been experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time.

Pope Leo Urges Europe to Remember and Embrace Its Christian Heritage
Pope Leo XIV urged Europe to remember its Christian heritage and embrace it in a speech delivered in France’s northeastern city of Metz on Monday as he wound up the fourth and final day of his visit.
France24 reports the Pope was keen to identify the unifying Christian background that has withstood the test of time and challenges from elsewhere right across Continental Europe as surging mass illegal migration across borders still troubles every nation.
“One cannot speak of Europe without mentioning Christianity,” he said, nodding to historians who record the faith has been present in Europe for nearly 2,000 years, arriving in the 1st century AD.
The pontiff praised European integration, adding working alongside others is a “social and political necessity” and urging E.U. leaders to give “real substance” to words such as freedom, democracy and unity.

Emmanuel Macron ‘rearranges his schedule’ to attend Pope Leo XIV’s final mass in Metz
In a last-minute schedule shift, French President Emmanuel Macron has decided to attend the concluding mass of Pope Leo XIV’s four-day visit to France before officially escorting the pontiff at his departure ceremony.
Emmanuel Macron will ultimately attend the mass celebrated by Pope Leo XIV this Monday in Metz, the final stop of the pontiff’s apostolic visit to France. According to the Elysée Palace, the French president will also take part in the official farewell ceremony.
Macron was initially only scheduled to attend the Pope’s morning address on Europe and peace in Metz, in northeastern France. The Elysée Palace said late on Sunday that he had “rearranged his schedule” to also attend the mass at Saint-Etienne Cathedral in Metz.
The French president did not attend Friday’s mass at Notre-Dame de Paris or Saturday’s massive open-air service along the Champs-Élysées and Place de la Concorde. Instead, First Lady Brigitte Macron and Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu represented the French state.
The French daily paper Le Parisien reported behind the scenes tensions with the Vatican declining several of Macron’s proposals, including a meeting with the artisans that rebuilt Notre Dame Cathedral after it was heavily damaged by a fire in 2019.
Separately, Macron’s 2023 attendance at a mass led by Pope Francis in Marseille drew heavy criticism from political opponents, who argued it violated laïcité—France’s strict principle of separation between church and state.

Newly Blessed Fulton Sheen Could Be Canonized Quickly
Declared a ‘Blessed’ on Sept. 24, the American evangelist could be canonized a saint in as few as three years, thanks to an obscure Church rule on miracles.
The unprecedented delay before Blessed Fulton Sheen’s Sept. 24 beatification might make for an unusually short wait for the American evangelist to be declared a saint, thanks to a not-well-known detail in the Church’s rules for canonization.
In fact, a priest helping to promote Sheen’s cause says that the new “Blessed” could be declared a saint in as few as three years.
If so, that’s practically sprinting compared to the normal lag time — an average of 49 years between beatification and canonization, with a median of 12.5 years, according to a 2010 study called “Economics of Sainthood” that examined relevant cases between 1592 and 2009.
The secret to Sheen’s possible quick trip to sainthood is that while most causes must wait for a miracle after beatification, there are already six purported miracles attributable to the blessed archbishop’s intercession that are eligible to be considered in his canonization cause. Sheen would need only one of them approved by Rome to qualify for sainthood.

Pope calls for recitation of Rosary in October for peace
Pope Leo XIV appealed to the faithful to pray the Rosary for peace during October, the month dedicated to the Rosary.
“I would like to make an appeal that is particularly close to my heart, here in this place,” Pope Leo said during his September 27 Angelus address in Lourdes, at the conclusion of the outdoor Mass he celebrated there. “It was here that the Immaculate Virgin appeared to Saint Bernadette with the Rosary and, as it were, guided her in prayer.”
“For this reason, today I invite all the faithful and all Christian communities to pray the holy Rosary throughout the coming month of October, with the particular intention that wars may cease and that peace may be established among peoples in conflict,” the Pope continued. “Let us accompany this prayer with concrete acts of penance and mercy, committing ourselves always to fostering dialogue and reconciliation.”
