Department of Energy employee arrested for allegedly trying to provide material support to Houthis

Federal authorities arrested a Department of Energy employee Thursday in Washington state for allegedly trying to provide material support to the foreign terrorist organization, the Houthis.

Ashton Hamed Ellaboudy has been charged with attempting to provide material support or resources to the Houthis after he allegedly purchased precursor chemicals for homemade explosive devices and provided guidance to an undercover FBI source.

Court records alleged Ellaboudy traveled to Oman in 2024, before crossing the border into Houthi-occupied Yemen. He allegedly told U.S. officials upon his return that he traveled to the Middle East on official government business, but Ellaboudy’s supervisor said he did not have authorized official government travel to that region.

“A U.S. government employee traveled overseas and used his specialized expertise in an attempt to aid the Houthis, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization backed by Iran,” Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Eisenberg said.

“Additionally, Ellaboudy acquired materials for the construction of explosive material and drones capable of delivering these explosives,” he continued. “These allegations are so deeply disturbing that they almost defy imagination.”

Just on ‘Sheer Jihadist Credentials’ El-Sayed Is Most Extreme Socialist in Midterms — Sen. Bernie Moreno

Michigan Democrat Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed is the most extreme candidate in the midterms based on “sheer jihadist credentials,” Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-OH) told Breitbart News on Thursday.

Moreno was asked about the most radical candidates running in the 2026 elections during a Breitbart News Fight Club Roundtable hosted by Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow and Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle.

Who do you think is the most extreme socialist candidate running in these 2026 midterms?” a participant named Barry M. asked.

“Well, that’s like who’s the tallest midget? Because man, oh, man. That’s a tough one. I’d have to say just on sheer jihadist credentials, it would have to be Abdul El-Sayed,” Moreno replied.

Policewoman Chased and Beaten by Far-Left Mob as ‘Student’ Riots Spread in France

Violence swept major French cities on Thursday as student protests over secondary-school conditions descended into riots, arson and attacks on police and emergency workers. Nearly 2,000 people were arrested and 305 officers injured, while French intelligence services accused the far-left France Unbowed and affiliated groups of organizing the wider mobilization.

Violence swept through major French cities on Thursday as student protests that began over conditions in secondary schools descended into riots, arson and attacks on police and emergency workers, with French intelligence services accusing the far-left France Unbowed (LFI) and its ‘proxies on the far left’ of organizing the wider mobilization.

One of the most disturbing pieces of footage of the day came from Paris’s 20th arrondissement, showing a female trainee police officer being chased by a group of young men, tripped from behind and kicked after falling to the ground. The attackers shouted ‘sale pute’ (filthy b*tch) and ‘tuez-la’ (kill her) during the beating, according to video recordings circulating on social media.

Marine Le Pen, leader of the right-wing National Rally (RN), called the incident ‘unbearable’, demanding ‘exemplary sentences’ for the attackers.

The protests began with genuine grievances over teacher shortages, overcrowded classrooms and deteriorating buildings. But the agenda expanded sharply as LFI politicians and organized far-left groups entered the mobilization—read: escalated the tensions into physical violence.

On the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels by Stephen P. White

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here. Ever this day be at my side, to light, to guard, to rule, and guide. Amen.”

I don’t know how many times in my life I have prayed these words. Many thousands, no doubt. It was among the first prayers I ever learned, being part of the nightly routine of my childhood, and I have taught it to my own children as we say bedtime prayers. It is not only a bedtime prayer, to be sure, and bears frequent repetition at any time of night or day. If any further inducement were needed, devout recitation of this venerable prayer carries a partial indulgence.

The prayer itself is surprisingly ancient, originating at least as early as the eleventh or twelfth century. Reverence for angels, of course, is much older, as even a passing familiarity with both the Old and New Testaments will show. Particular devotion to the guardian angels, whose feast day is today (October 2), dates to the earliest centuries of the Church. St. Basil the Great taught in the fourth century that, “each and every member of the faithful has a Guardian Angel to protect, guard and guide them through life.”
