I don’t think good people don’t run in politics because politics is ‘dirty’ per but for a number of other reasons. I can think of many but here just a few:
The realization you must be ready to become a martyr, life over and destroyed by lies, bullet, jail, whatever they can do and throw at you. Good people feel responsible for the lives of family members first. It takes a rare truly good person that even raises themselves to the community level and a special calling for the National level. But if they are willing they stop because of the next point:
Most good people are not lawyers, Polysci majors, etc. and feel inadequate. They don’t feel qualified!

Yes, this lawfare against Trump is despicable.
But Trump enacted lawfare himself. Trump allowed prosecutions and Government harassment forced people to lose their jobs, livelihoods and destroyed families in the process if people didn't take the untested, dangerous vaccines that Trump was pushing.
Trump has also stated that he wants to deport American College Students who protest Israel's Genocide and War Crimes .
It seems that Trump is getting a taste of his own medicine.
