The plan to destroy a nation, began with destroying individuals
From its very inception in the twisted mind of Karl Marx, the goal of Marxism has been world domination – the exercising of dominion over the world. In short, replacing God.
Since human beings are made in the image and likeness of God (Imago Dei), we belong to Him. We are His dominion – as indeed is all of creation. He made it; it belongs to Him.
And this is how any honest evaluation of Marxism arrives at the truth – that, at its heart, the blood coursing through its veins is a-theistic. Marxism rejects God, certainly in theory as a concept, but also in practice. At least pagan Rome allowed religion and worship of multiple gods, as long as they did not impede on the gods of Rome – which of course, Christ did.
Marxism rejects religion itself – in practice, as well as in theory. Religion begets believers, at least in many cases, and having citizens of the state believe in a Higher Power than the state simply undermines the state's exclusive claim on power.
Marxism is the destroyer of the person – the individual, the heart and soul the Lord of Heaven and earth fashioned after Himself. Marxism uses the power of the state to disconnect the individual from his identity of being made in the image of God with the sole intention of degrading the person, and trapping him in dependence (you'll own nothing and you'll be happy); you won't even own yourself.
Marxism – which is Communism – understands that violence only presents a temporary seizing of power. While violence does produce immediate results, they don't necessarily last. A much more secure strategy is to employ the institutional systems already in existence, and then use those institutional systems to destroy those institutional systems – to commit institutional suicide. Corrupt from within on the way to destroying. It's so clever, it could be considered diabolical.
But the capturing of political parties, government institutions, cultural institutions happens ONLY because individuals within those parties and institutions were able to be coerced. After that, it becomes nothing more than a waiting game – corrupt a few weak, yet key, individuals and wait for their corruption to spread. Sooner or later a "tipping point" is arrived at where there are now more corrupted individuals than good individuals.
Once the corrupt become a majority, they can fast-track the infection throughout their respective institutions, and the whole institution becomes converted for the bad. Higher education comes immediately to mind.
But how do Marxists reach any given individual? It really boils down to a seek and destroy mission – isolating a person or small group of unconnected people and targeting them. These people usually are undergoing some emotional pain or distress and are, therefore, vulnerable to the deception that what is being proposed is actually a good.
An important point to always bear in mind – what Marxists propose is never a good, at least in their intentions. It might have some aspect or dynamic of an objective good (or at least sound that way to the uncritical mind), but it is never an ultimate good, because in a formal analysis of morality – even if a given action is good, or neutral, if the intent is bad, the action becomes corrupt.
So Marxism pretends that its goals are noble – social justice, helping the poor, freeing citizens from 'oppression of the rich', eliminating debt for students – the list of their praiseworthy actions knows no end.
But the rub lies in the truth that everything they propose, and oftentimes enact politically, actually destroys the human person – abortion, contraception, homosexual "marriage", divorce and remarriage, cohabitation, and so forth. These evils produce trauma, emotional pain and an inability to see things correctly because the destructive consequences are frightful.
Families fall apart because individuals fall apart – and when families fall apart, enough families, the culture is destroyed. The overload of those now dependent on government – whether it be children born to a single parent, alcoholics or other drug dependents, the critically unhealthy who became that way through decades of bodily abuse of overeating or substance abuse – strains the system, eventually causing it to crash.
One by one the institutions begin to buckle under the weight – medicine, law enforcement, legal, educational – like organs shutting down in a body approaching death, the society can no longer withstand it, and a nation formally passes from the hands of a loving God, into the clutches of a demon.
While there is still much to do, the case can be made that various people are waking up to different degrees and realizing that what is playing out before us is two wildly contrasting worldviews: Atheism vs. Christianity – locked in a lethal struggle for all the marbles.
Marxism is about destroying people so that it can be used to lock down power. It is malicious, through and through. Christianity is about fixing people and raising them up to the realization that they are made in the Imago Dei.
The contrast could not be more clear – or decisive – for each individual.

Some real-life examples to consider regarding the destruction caused by failed Marxism exist in the rise and fall of Cuba and Soviet Union.
I remember reading George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four about life in the Soviet Union under Stalinism and Nazi Germany. This book described how Communism impacted average people's lives seems somewhat like America in 2024 with omnipresent government practicing surveillance, propaganda encouragement, rewriting of history, censorship, pornography sedation, etc.
And it all begins with the mind of the individual. The enemy knows this well.

That pretty much sums-up the attitude of my PETS. Good perspective today, Michael.
