Trump asks Iran to release women facing death penalty

Trump included a screenshot of a tweet that featured the faces of the women, whom the original poster said faced death by hanging.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday asked Iran to release a group of women in custody it plans to execute, saying that the gesture would help negotiations.

“To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women,” he posted on Truth Social. “I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Trump included a screenshot of a tweet that featured the faces of the women, whom the original poster said faced death by hanging. The post did not identify them by name. A ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is set to expire on Wednesday evening and negotiating teams in Islamabad, Pakistan have yet to reach an agreement to end the war completely.

Iran Counting on American Media to Pressure Trump to End War Before Enriched Uranium Secured -podcast

Breitbart Editor-in-Chief: “What’s going on right now is the media is trying to frame it up as though the Iranian regime is actually strong and…the fact that we’ve killed the top dozens of officials, none of that makes a difference.”

Iran Thought It Was Untouchable … Then Trump Changed the Rules by Victor Davis Hanson

Within a matter of weeks, Iran’s ability to wage war has been rendered inert by American and Israeli forces. Over the course of seven U.S. presidencies, Iran—the most populous Middle Eastern country—developed a self-inflated view of itself. But why? Whether through the Biden-backed Iran nuclear deal or Barack Obama’s “creative tension” approach to Middle East conflicts, numerous U.S. administrations gave the Iranian regime the impression that the Western world was afraid of them. Then Trump called their bluff, argues Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In a Few Words.”

Trump pleads with Virginians to ‘just vote no’ on redistricting measure in telerally call

President Donald Trump urged Virginia voters to reject a high-stakes redistricting referendum during a tele-rally Monday, telling supporters to “just vote no” on a measure that could reshape the state’s congressional map and influence control of the U.S. House.

Trump joined House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) in the virtual rally on the eve of the April 21 vote, framing the Democrat-backed proposal as a partisan power grab and warning it would undermine fair representation in Washington, D.C.

SCOTUS To Decide Whether Colorado’s ‘Universal’ Preschool Program Can Exclude Catholic Families

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to take up a major case involving Colorado’s alleged infringement of Catholic families’ First Amendment rights.

The high court announced on Monday that it will hear arguments in St. Mary Catholic Parish v. Roy, which centers around Colorado’s apparent exclusion of Catholic families and preschools from its “universal” preschool program. As Andrea Picciotti-Bayer previously described in these pages, the state told Catholic parishes upon the program’s enactment that “they could participate — so long as they abandoned Church teaching on sexual orientation and human identity.”

Bishop Schneider: Mass Muslim Immigration Is ‘Orchestrated’ Plot to Destroy Christian Europe

Schneider calls for a movement to save Europe before its Christian heritage is lost

Bishop Schneider – “Anyone who takes a critical look at society today recognizes the effort to deny and suppress the influence of Christianity so that other influences can be spread.” – Michael Haynes

Marxism and “orchestrated” Muslim immigration are being used to destroy Christian culture in Europe, Bishop Athanasius Schneider has warned.

“Anyone who takes a critical look at society today recognizes the effort to deny and suppress the influence of Christianity so that other influences can be spread.” Such was the stark warning of Bishop Schneider, the German auxiliary bishop of Astana in Kazakhstan, during a recent interview with German outlet Junge Freiheit.

“All European values ultimately derive from Christianity, even those we consider secular today,” he noted, highlighting the centrality of Christianity to what is known and loved by many as European culture and heritage.

Vatican Stops UN From Promoting a ‘Right’ to Abortion

The 59th session of the United Nations Commission on Population and Development ended the way too many UN negotiations now end: not with agreement, but with collapse. On Friday, April 17, the Commission failed to adopt a consensus resolution because radical pro-abortion delegations would not retreat from their obsession with so-called sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights.

The session’s actual theme concerned population, technology, and research in the service of sustainable development. But once again, abortion ideology hijacked the room. That failure did not happen by accident. It happened because the abortion lobby and its state allies treat every negotiation as a chance to smuggle in contested language, rewrite settled agreements, and pressure sovereign nations into surrender. When countries refuse, the radicals blame them for blocking consensus. But the reality is that those who demand radical ideological conformity are the ones who break consensus.

Phoenix artist’s sacred paintings selected for US ambassador’s residence at Holy See

A Catholic artist from Arizona has been selected by the U.S. State Department to have her sacred art displayed at the residence of U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Brian Burch as part of a long-running cultural diplomacy initiative that places American art in diplomatic settings around the world.

Ruth Stricklin, a painter, is among the artists featured in the Art in Embassies program, which curates exhibitions of American art for embassies and ambassadorial residences. Stricklin spoke with Zeale News about her experience in an April 18 interview.

Stricklin said her love of art began as a love of beauty, shaped by her childhood in rural Alaska, where she grew up surrounded by sweeping landscapes and the northern lights.

Noah’s Ark mystery deepens as researcher blows lid on strange rock formations in Turkey

A researcher’s bombshell new findings about a strange rock formation in Turkey could prove that Noah’s Ark was real, according to reports.

Andrew Jones, a researcher with Noah’s Ark Scans, told GB News that “exciting new findings” about the rock formation first discovered in 1959 on Turkey’s Mount Ararat could prove the boat from the Book of Genesis once existed.

Ground penetrating radar scans and soil samples from the tunnel site — which reportedly match the 515-foot dimensions of Noah’s Ark — uncovered a series of “corridors” below the earth, the outlet reported.

Tunnels were discovered running down the middle of the “boat” and alongside the inside edge of the possible ship, leading to a central cavity Jones called the atrium.

“God told Noah to bring the animals in. And so these animals would have stayed there, plus Noah and his family. What’s interesting is that these voids are lining up below the ground – and they’re not just random,” Jones told the outlet. …

St. Anselm: The Benedictine monk who followed the motto ‘faith seeking understanding’

On April 21, the Catholic Church honors St. Anselm, the 11th- and 12th-century Benedictine monk and archbishop best known for his writings that deeply influenced Catholic theology.

On April 21, the Catholic Church honors St. Anselm, the 11th- and 12th-century Benedictine monk and archbishop best known for his writings on the existence of God and Christʼs atonement.

When remembering St. Anselm in a general audience on Sept. 23, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI said he was “a monk with an intense spiritual life, an excellent teacher of the young, a theologian with an extraordinary capacity for speculation, a wise man of governance and an intransigent defender of the Churchʼs freedom.”

St. Anselm, Benedict said, stands out as “one of the eminent figures of the Middle Ages who was able to harmonize all these qualities, thanks to the profound mystical experience that always guided his thought and his action.”
