Trump asks Iran to release women facing death penalty
Trump included a screenshot of a tweet that featured the faces of the women, whom the original poster said faced death by hanging.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday asked Iran to release a group of women in custody it plans to execute, saying that the gesture would help negotiations.
“To the Iranian leaders, who will soon be in negotiations with my representatives: I would greatly appreciate the release of these women,” he posted on Truth Social. “I am sure that they will respect the fact that you did so. Please do them no harm! Would be a great start to our negotiations!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Trump included a screenshot of a tweet that featured the faces of the women, whom the original poster said faced death by hanging. The post did not identify them by name. A ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is set to expire on Wednesday evening and negotiating teams in Islamabad, Pakistan have yet to reach an agreement to end the war completely.

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to take up a major case involving Colorado’s alleged infringement of Catholic families’ First Amendment rights.
The high court announced on Monday that it will hear arguments in St. Mary Catholic Parish v. Roy, which centers around Colorado’s apparent exclusion of Catholic families and preschools from its “universal” preschool program. As Andrea Picciotti-Bayer previously described in these pages, the state told Catholic parishes upon the program’s enactment that “they could participate — so long as they abandoned Church teaching on sexual orientation and human identity.”

A Catholic artist from Arizona has been selected by the U.S. State Department to have her sacred art displayed at the residence of U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Brian Burch as part of a long-running cultural diplomacy initiative that places American art in diplomatic settings around the world.
Ruth Stricklin, a painter, is among the artists featured in the Art in Embassies program, which curates exhibitions of American art for embassies and ambassadorial residences. Stricklin spoke with Zeale News about her experience in an April 18 interview.
Stricklin said her love of art began as a love of beauty, shaped by her childhood in rural Alaska, where she grew up surrounded by sweeping landscapes and the northern lights.

Noah’s Ark mystery deepens as researcher blows lid on strange rock formations in Turkey
A researcher’s bombshell new findings about a strange rock formation in Turkey could prove that Noah’s Ark was real, according to reports.
Andrew Jones, a researcher with Noah’s Ark Scans, told GB News that “exciting new findings” about the rock formation first discovered in 1959 on Turkey’s Mount Ararat could prove the boat from the Book of Genesis once existed.
Ground penetrating radar scans and soil samples from the tunnel site — which reportedly match the 515-foot dimensions of Noah’s Ark — uncovered a series of “corridors” below the earth, the outlet reported.
Tunnels were discovered running down the middle of the “boat” and alongside the inside edge of the possible ship, leading to a central cavity Jones called the atrium.
“God told Noah to bring the animals in. And so these animals would have stayed there, plus Noah and his family. What’s interesting is that these voids are lining up below the ground – and they’re not just random,” Jones told the outlet. …
