DEMOCRATS TAKE HOUSE AND SENATE IN HEATED MIDTERM RACES [ARTICLE]
Despite controversial policy positions labeled “extreme” by their opponents, Democrats capitalized on widespread discontent over cost-of-living issues and the conflict in Iran to flip numerous House and Senate seats from red to blue.
Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress in the Nov. 3 midterm elections, capturing a 54-seat majority in the Senate and a narrower 225-seat majority in the House of Representatives, flipping 25 House seats from red to blue. Not all House races have been called yet as of time of writing.
Senate seats representing Iowa, Kansas, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, and Texas, all previously held by Republicans, flipped to Democrat control. Democrats also won Senate seats representing Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Virginia.
In one of the most surprising results of the night, Democratic state legislator James Talarico defeated Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton to take the Senate seat representing Texas. The race was the most expensive Senate race in U.S. history, with Talarico’s campaign spending more than $135 million and outside groups spending more than $435 million. Talarico is the first Democrat to be elected to represent Texas in the Senate since 1988.

Progressive Democrat Abdul El-Sayed has defeated Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan’s Senate race.
El-Sayed will be the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Senate.
The closely watched race was for the seat vacated by retiring Democrat Sen. Gary Peters.
Decision Desk called the race at 1:15 AM EST.
The call came shortly after a DDHQ update with an estimated 72 percent of the vote, showing El-Sayed at 1,819,808 votes to Rogers’ 1,667,658.
El-Sayed, a former Detroit and Wayne County health director and far-left progressive Democrat, narrowly won his party’s primary earlier in the year against Rep. Haley Stevens.

Islam’s advocates are using their mosque networks to maximize voter turnout in favor of Democratic candidates in Michigan, Texas, and other states.
“You need to vote for candidates that represent your interests and our interests … especially in the battle states of Texas and Michigan,” said Yasir Qadhi, an apparent top U.S. leader of the dominant Muslim Brotherhood faction among U.S. mosques.
Qadhi … who is based in Texas, said via X on October 29:
It is our ethnic duty, it is our civic duty, it is our religious duty to go and support those candidates and choose those that represent the best of our interests … We are undergoing perhaps the most important election season, perhaps of our entire lifetimes, and it is imperative that we, as Muslims of this country, as American Muslims, we avail ourselves to the same rights, the same privileges, the same sense of civic engagement and civic duty as everybody else.
He added: “And so, today, tomorrow, pray jumma [midday prayer, usually at a mosque] and go to vote for the ummah,” which is the Arabic term for the worldwide political society of Islam.

It really shouldn’t be this difficult for Marxist-socialists, communists, “green energy” fanatics, “diversity, inclusion, and equity” cultists, and bureaucracy-worshiping globalists to build a regulatory paradise based on the “woke” commandments of their secular faith.
There are more than enough power-hungry leftist politicians in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States to construct the all-powerful central government that they desire. Career bureaucrats in the U.S. have filled the administrative state with so many sub-agencies, boards, working groups, and miscellaneous programs that nobody in Congress could create an organizational chart accurately diagramming the bureaucratic blob. The European Union — a supranational shrine to bloated bureaucratic incompetence — has so many committees within its ranks that there are surely a dozen such committees studying why the Union has so many committees!
There are more than enough lefty billionaires — including George Soros, Bill Gates, Neville Roy Singham, Michael Bloomberg, Tom Steyer, and Howard Schultz — to put up the seed money for their communist utopia. Heck, Western central banks essentially exist to manipulate markets in favor of the left’s pet causes, such as how best to funnel taxpayer dollars into the bank accounts of leftist billionaires who lecture the world about “global warming,” “white supremacy,” mandatory COVID shots, and the need for open borders and online censorship. Wall Street and City of London firms are more interested in companies’ “social credit scores” and ESG bona fides than the traditional metrics of whether a business can generate profit and a return on investment.

It’s been trending that way for a while, but this Election Day could put a bullet in the old girl’s stomach.
The polls don’t necessarily worry me. They have been little more than psyops aimed at depressing conservative turnout in the Trump era. Who could forget this gem from the Des Moines Register in early November 2024: “Kamala Harris leapfrogs Donald Trump to take lead near Election Day”. The president won Iowa by 13 percentage points, swept all seven swing states and grabbed the popular vote on the way to GOP control of the White House and Congress.
What worries me are voters. Sadly, many of them are stupid. And angry. Dean Vernon Wormer of National Lampoon’s Animal House advised, “Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life.” The same applies for the furious and the dumb. For a constitutional republic, it’s a lethal cocktail.
