DEMOCRATS EXPLODE, PLEDGE LAWFARE AGAINST STEPHEN MILLER AFTER PROMOTION [ARTICLE]
Several Democrats exploded after President Donald Trump announced that White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller would be taking over as White House chief of staff, and they vowed lawfare against Miller.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) criticized Miller’s promotion, describing him as being the “architect of the unconstitutional ICE raids.”
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) also issued a statement in which he advised Miller to “lawyer up.”
“Donald Trump just promoted one of the most vile thugs to ever slither into the Oval Office,” Newsom wrote in a post on X. “This is an insult to every American who voted for change on Tuesday. Stephen Miller cooked up the sadistic mass deportation regime that ripped families and trampled basic civil rights.”

TRUMP SUGGESTS CABINET SHAKEUPS WON’T STOP AT SUSIE WILES IN ‘60 MINUTES’ INTERVIEW: ‘MAYBE A FEW CHANGES’ [ARTICLE]
President Trump signaled that former chief of staff Susie Wiles won’t be the only high-profile administration official out the door in response to the GOP’s brutal midterm elections.
The commander-in-chief teased a potential Cabinet shakeup in a “60 Minutes” interview recorded just hours before Wiles got the boot.
“I do,” Trump told correspondent Ross Douthat when asked if he plans to terminate anyone from his team after Republicans lost their majorities in the House and Senate, according to a clip of the interview released Friday night.

KEY LAWMAKER SUGGESTS GOP GO BIG IN LAME-DUCK CONGRESS TO FOIL DEMOCRAT DEFUNDING, SPENDING PLANS [ARTICLE]
“We need to target those agencies that we know that the Democrats are going to target from the standpoint of trying to either destroy them, undermine them, or fundamentally change where they go,” Rep. Harriet Hageman says.
One of the few House Republicans to win a U.S. Senate seat in Tuesday’s blue-wave election is urging her GOP colleagues to aggressively use the remaining days of the lame-duck Congress this year to pass multi-year budgets to protect agencies that Democrats want to defund and to codify President Donald Trump cuts to foreign aid that the left wants to restore.
Rep. Harriet Hageman, soon to be sworn in as Wyoming’s next U.S. senator, told Just the News on Thursday night that she is urging fellow Republicans to replicate their last budget reconciliation law that funded Trump’s Homeland Security agenda until the end of his presidency and codify other GOP priorities and foil Democrats’ ambitions in the next Congress.
Such a move would require only 51 votes in the Senate, bypassing the blockade of a filibuster rule, then allow Trump to use his veto pen to thwart Democrat efforts in the next Congress to overturn his priorities, thus securing them through the 2028 election.

POPE LEO IN URUGUAY: PROTECT LIFE AT ALL STAGES, PROVIDE UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE [ARTICLE]
The pontiff’s speech referred to his own recent cancer surgery.
Pope Leo XIV on Friday opened his first visit to South America as pope with a call to protect life from its beginning in the womb until its natural end and to guarantee healthcare for all members of society.
The pope addressed Uruguay’s President Yamandú Orsi and other dignitaries in the country’s capital on the first day of an 11-day tour of the continent that will also take him to Argentina and Peru.
“The unborn already belong to the human family and to the future of their people. Their absolute dependence on their mother does not diminish the dignity to which they are entitled or the protection they deserve,” Leo said.
Though he did not directly mention euthanasia, which Uruguay legalized last year, the pope stressed the need to preserve life even in the midst of suffering.
“Given the painful reality of suicide, it is clear that adequate healthcare, family ties, and the closeness of the community are inseparable. None should ever feel like a stranger among their own or think that their absence matters less than their presence,” Leo said. “It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that each person can live with dignity, receive the care they need, and be accompanied until the natural end of his or her life.” …

ETHIOPIA’S CATHOLIC BISHOPS DECRY KILLING OF CHRISTIANS, CALL FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT MEASURES [ARTICLE]
Members of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Ethiopia (CBCE) have condemned the killing of Christians and destruction of property in the country, calling on the relevant authorities to take necessary law enforcement measures to protect lives, safeguard property and restore peace and security.
In a statement of condolence issued on Monday, November 2, GBCE members referred to the tragic killing of faithful Christians and the destruction of property that occurred in Merti and Shirka areas of Arsi Zone, South-East Oromia Region, during the month of October.
GBCE members say that they learned about the killings and property destruction with “profound sorrow and deep concern,” through communications from the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church and the Inter-Religious Council (IRC).
