U.S.-BOUND MIGRANT CARAVAN LEAVING SOUTHERN MEXICAN BORDER STATE [ARTICLE]
The slow-moving migrant caravan calling itself “Fe y Esperanza #2” reached Arriaga, Chiapas on Tuesday and is now 14 miles from entering Oaxaca. The caravan has faced inclement weather, extreme exhaustion, and fights among the group that left the border city of Tapachula on October 20.
According to a report by La Jornada, a daily Spanish-language newspaper published in Mexico City, the caravan of mostly Central American migrants has managed to travel almost 160 miles (250 kilometers) since entering Mexico at Tapachula. According to La Jornada, approximately 500 migrants remain in the caravan that originated in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on October 13. …
As reported by Breitbart Texas, many in the group intend to posture near the U.S.-Mexico border in hopes that a Democratic win in the midterms might signal a return to a less secure border. With that hope coming to fruition on Tuesday, the caravan will likely be even more motivated to continue its northward trek.

EIGHT TRANSGENDER, NONBINARY DEMOCRATS WIN LEGISLATIVE RACES [ARTICLE]
Eight transgender or nonbinary Democrats won legislative races Tuesday, including in Alabama, Montana, and Georgia, with seven winning statehouse seats and Delaware Rep. Sarah McBride securing another term in Congress.
Those elected were Allison Montgomery in Alabama, McBride in Delaware, Jaelynn Scott in Washington, Joanna Whaley in Michigan, Bentley Hudgins in Georgia, Zooey Zephyr in Montana, Leigh Finke in Minnesota, and Dina Nina Martinez-Rutherford in Wisconsin.
In Alabama, Montgomery defeated Republican incumbent Phillip Rigsby in House District 25, becoming the state’s first openly transgender lawmaker. Montgomery received 53.2 percent of the vote to Rigsby’s 46.7 percent, according to preliminary results from the Alabama Secretary of State’s office.
In Montana, Zephyr won reelection to House District 95 in the Missoula area without an opponent, receiving 4,761 votes, or 100 percent, according to results published by Decision Desk HQ. …

It was a notable topic, given the date’s significance. Why was the 4th so important, you might ask? Because it was Salon’s last full day of publication.
That’s right. On Wednesday, Salon writer Sophia Tesfaye mocked right-wing media for forming “a circular firing squad” and declared that Trump 2.0 “has culminated in such total structural collapse.”
The next afternoon, after 31 years, Salon announced its own total structural collapse.
The liberal outlet said it was ceasing publication because its “publishing model is no longer sustainable.”

Bishop José de Jesús Herrera Quiñones of the Diocese of Culiacán in Sinaloa state reported what happened in a Nov. 1 statement, providing details on the assault. Herrera was reported missing on the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 24, after he had gone to a medical appointment.
The prelate recounted that Morales returned on his own to his parish, Risen Christ, on Tuesday, Oct. 27. He arrived, as described, “in a deplorable state, showing clear signs of the violence he had been subjected to.”

I met her in real life last week.
Last week I (Fr. David Nix) had a four hour dinner with Bernardin’s victim and her husband. She is now 80 years old. The Satanic Ritual Abuse happened to her about 70 years ago by Fr. Joseph Bernardin (later Cardinal Archbishop of Chicago, top-left in article.) The abuse happened at St. Mary’s Church in Greenville, SC (top-right in article)
My mother is from Chicago (and my father is from West of Chicago) so I grew up hearing from extended family that one day Cardinal Bernardin would be canonized. Much in my life has changed since then. Another thing that has changed is Rome’s recent attempt to rehabilitate the reputation of Bernardin.
Keep in mind as you read below that I still support my article from earlier this year describing the gravity of breaking the 8th Commandment on the public reputation of another. But the sins of public members must be exposed if there is evidence. Again, I am 100% certain that I had dinner last week with Bernardin’s own victim from 1957. She now breaks her years of silence because of the upcoming attempts to “canonize” Bernardin. …

Cardinal Blaise Cupich, the current archbishop of Chicago, defended the Archdiocese of Chicago’s decision to honor Jewish billionaire Michael Sacks at the Rerum Novarum Awards Dinner, benefiting Mundelein Seminary, on Oct. 29. He will be gifted the Nostra Aetate award during the dinner’s honoring ceremony. “Nostra Aetate” is a Vatican II document on Catholic relations with non-Christian religions.
The Sacks Family Foundation, of which Michael Sacks is president and treasurer, gave $500,000 to Planned Parenthood of Illinois in 2022, the same year the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, raising obvious problems considering the Catholic church’s clear teaching on the grave evil of abortion.
