Trump greets Xi in Beijing to kick off historic China summit with grand welcome ceremony

President Trump shook hands with Chinese leader Xi Jinping Wednesday to kick off a historic summit between the world’s two most powerful heads of state.

Trump and Xi stood shoulder-to-shoulder outside China’s Great Hall of the People, a massive Communist Party showpiece overlooking Tiananmen Square, during the lavish arrival ceremony.

The handshake marks the seventh face-to-face between Trump and Xi and the pair’s first meeting in China since November 2017.

After greeting each other, the two leaders strolled down a red carpet and shook hands with members of their respective delegations on the steps of the Great Hall.

Xi then shook hands with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, War Secretary Pete Hegseth, White House aides Stephen Miller, Steven Cheung, and James Blair, and the president’s son, Eric Trump, and daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, among others.

Lines of excited young schoolchildren celebrated Trump’s arrival by jumping up and down with bouquets of flowers, while others were holding US and Chinese flags.

“Those children were amazing,” the president would later tell Xi inside the Great Hall.

Trump at the bilateral meeting

President Trump stared down Xi Jinping and delivered a masterstroke that left the room in silence: “I brought the 30 most powerful business leaders on the planet to these talks… and they all said yes. I didn’t send the second-in-command or the vice president. I wanted the number one from each empire! Jensen Huang, Tim Cook, Elon Musk, and the other titans… the best in the world are here, right in front of you.” Then, with his winner’s smile, he sealed the deal: “They’re here today to pay respect to you and to China. They come hungry to do business, invest, and create. From our side, it’ll be 100% reciprocal.” The message is clear: America isn’t coming to beg. It’s coming with the supreme bosses of global innovation to lay all the cards on the table. This isn’t normal diplomacy… this is high-voltage diplomacy!

Another Chinese Spy Convicted by Jury for Operating Secret Police Outpost in New York City

President Donald Trump’s high-stakes visit to China comes at a moment when Americans are receiving a disturbing reminder of how deeply Beijing has tried to penetrate American politics, media, and local government.

On the latest episode of The Patriot Perspective, co-hosts Gregory Lyakhov and Ofer Adar discussed Trump’s summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the growing threat of Chinese influence operations inside the United States, and why China may become one of the most important players in the ongoing Iran conflict. …

Just this week, Arcadia, California, Mayor Eileen Wang agreed to plead guilty to acting as an illegal agent of the People’s Republic of China. …

[And] on Wednesday, a federal jury convicted Lu Jianwang, also known as Harry Lu, of acting as an illegal foreign agent and destroying text messages from a Chinese government handler.

Prosecutors said Lu helped establish a secret Chinese police outpost in Manhattan’s Chinatown neighborhood in 2022. The Associated Press reported that Chinese authorities used such outposts to monitor people Beijing considers enemies of its interests, including pro-democracy dissidents.

These cases show exactly why Trump’s China visit matters. China is not merely a trade competitor. China is a geopolitical rival that seeks leverage through technology, propaganda, economic dependence, diaspora networks, and covert influence.

‘We Are Going To Turn Off The Money’: Vance’s Anti-Fraud Taskforce To Make States Prove They Prosecute Fraud

Vance announced that the government is deferring $1.3 billion in Medicaid reimbursements to California for its leaders’ neglect.

Vice President J.D. Vance announced Wednesday that his anti-fraud task force is going to force states to prove that they actually prosecute fraud, threatening to strip billions from state legal coffers if they do not comply.

Each state has a taxpayer-funded Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU), which is specifically designed to fund investigations and prosecutions of Medicaid fraud. Vance said that the states will need to prove they are “aggressively” going after fraud, and if they are not, they will be stripped of all MFCU money so the federal government can do their jobs for them.

“We have red states and blue states that go after fraud aggressively, but we also unfortunately have some states, mostly blue states, unfortunately, that do not take Medicaid fraud very seriously,” Vance said at a press briefing in the Indian Treaty Room at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
