How RFK’s New Dietary Chart Will Save American Lives

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Agriculture Department Secretary Brooke Rollins introduced new dietary guidelines last week, upending the ultra-processed food regime that has dominated Americans’ diets for decades. The guidelines are long overdue and have the potential to save countless lives.

The government moves slowly, especially the federal government, but science does not. For years now, the evidence has been clear that real food — steak, chicken, fish, eggs — beats sugary cereal and neon-colored breakfast muffins every single time. And yet, for decades, Health and Human Services failed to reinforce that message. Why? You can take your pick from the all-you-can-eat buffet of reasons. Bureaucratic inertia is the polite explanation; corporate capture is the uncomfortable one.

U.S. is working with Catholic Church to get post-hurricane aid to Cuba, Rubio says

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. government is working with the Catholic Church to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Cuba after a late-October hurricane.

“The U.S. is sending the first humanitarian shipment to Cuba to help people in need as they continue to recover from Hurricane Melissa,” Rubio said in a Jan. 14 post on X. “We are working with the Catholic Church and partners to ensure aid reaches the Cuban people directly — not the illegitimate regime.”

U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Brian Burch also reposted the message.

“The Trump administration stands with the Cuban people,” Rubio added.

Macron Threatens Trump on Greenland

From the video: ‘France rushing in to defend a NATO ally from American aggression. Europe standing united against Trump’s territorial ambitions. The headlines practically wrote themselves. Then someone asked a very simple question. So, how many troops is France actually sending? Turns out 15. I kid you not, this is not a joke. It’s 15 corroborated multiple media outlets. 15. 15 mountain warfare specialists. As for the other countries, Germany is sending 13, 13 reconnaissance personnel. Sweden, they’re sending three. Norway, two, Britain, one. The Hill actually ran with the utterly gaslit headline, “European troops arrive in Greenland,” only to admit, buried deep paragraphs below, that Europe was only sending 34 troops. That’s right, 34 total European troops rushing in to defend Greenland from the aggression of the United States military.’

The Iranian People Are Paying The Price For 50 Years Of Democrats’ Bad Policy

As massive protests continue to escalate across Iran — now in their third week, spreading to all 31 provinces, with protesters demanding the fall of the Islamic Republic — demonstrators face a savage government crackdown. Meanwhile, some of the most influential voices from the left, including former President Barack Obama and his deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, have chosen to remain silent. Their silence cannot shield them from scrutiny of U.S. policies under Democratic administrations, starting with Jimmy Carter. These policies have been consistently misguided, emboldening the regime, exacerbating instability, and prolonging the Iranian people’s suffering.

Before the 1979 Iranian Revolution that overthrew the monarchy, opposition leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini — then in exile in France — secretly communicated with the Carter administration in January 1979. He urged President Carter to pressure Iranian generals loyal to the shah to support him instead, assuring that “America’s interests and citizens in Iran would be protected” once in power.

Venezuela opposition leader presents Trump with Nobel Peace Prize

Venezuela opposition leader Maria Corina Machado said she gifted the Nobel Peace Prize to President Donald Trump during a closed-door lunch the two leaders held on Thursday.

“I presented the president of the United States the medal — the Nobel Peace Prize,” Machado told reporters Thursday afternoon. “And I told him this, listen to this: ‘Two hundred years ago, General Lafayette gave Simón Bolívar a medal with George Washington’s face on it. Bolivar, since then, kept that medal for the rest of his life. Actually, when you see his portraits, you can see the medal there.”

“It was given by Gen. Lafayette as a sign of the brotherhood between the United States and the people of Venezuela in their fight for freedom against tyranny,” she said. “And 200 years in history, the people of Bolivar are giving back to the heir of Washington a medal, in this case a medal of Nobel Peace Prize, and the recognition for his unique commitment with our freedom.”

Trump has made it public his desire for the Nobel Prize and has often touted his involvement in negotiating peace deals among feuding nations. However, a spokesperson for the committee told the Washington Examiner that “A Nobel Prize can neither be revoked nor transferred to others.”

US launches second phase of Gaza ceasefire plan amid unresolved disputes

The U.S. formally launched Phase Two of its Gaza ceasefire framework Jan. 14, shifting focus from an initial truce toward demilitarization, transitional governance, and reconstruction in the war-ravaged territory.

U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff announced the move on X, saying the new phase establishes a technocratic Palestinian governing body in Gaza and focuses on dismantling armed groups.

“Phase Two establishes a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration in Gaza, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), and begins the full demilitarization and reconstruction of Gaza, primarily the disarmament of all unauthorized personnel,” Witkoff explained.

President Trump Announces Board of Peace for Gaza is Officially Formed

President Trump announced on Thursday that the international transitional Board of Peace, which will supervise the governance of Gaza, has been formed.

Trump announced the “Board of Peace,” which will be headed and chaired by himself, in his 20-point Gaza Peace Plan last September.

On Thursday, he announced that the board has been finalized, and the members will be announced “shortly.”

“I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place,” he said. …

This comes after Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff announced the launch of Phase Two of the Gaza Peace Plan, where Gaza is set to be “redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.”

I Can’t Thank You Enough’: Victor Davis Hanson Shares His Gratitude and the Latest on His Recovery

I want to thank all the wonderful people who have sent me wishes of rapid recovery and prayers in so many manifestations. I cannot thank you enough, given it gave me hope and encouragement these past two weeks as I read and reread your notes, cards, and postings.

I was operated on 12/30 to remove a large “mucinous adenoma carcinoma” and also right lower lobe by the thoracic surgery team at Stanford Medical.

I had previously and mysteriously been unable to recover fully from a March 2025 flu and a series of sinus infections that led to a sinus operation, and later hoarseness and cough.

A series of various scans suggested subclinical pneumonia, prior damage from long COVID, or perhaps even valley fever. …

Archbishop Gallagher: Surrogacy Is a ‘New Form of Colonialism’

Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, secretary for relations with states and international organizations of the Holy See, described the practice of surrogacy as a “new form of colonialism” in which the interests of adults prevail over the rights of children.

The Italian Embassy to the Holy See hosted the Jan. 13 event “A Common Front for Human Dignity: Preventing the Commodification of Women and Children in Surrogacy” with the aim of fostering international debate on this practice and raising awareness of its ethical, legal, and social implications.

The event, held at the Borromeo Palace in Rome, is part of an awareness campaign promoted by the Italian Ministry for Family, Birth Rate, and Equal Opportunities together with the Holy See at the United Nations.

In his address, Archbishop Gallagher stated that surrogacy is an issue that concerns all of humanity and therefore urged a united front to stop “the commodification of women and children.”
