On Sunday July 20th, Pope Leo shared an urgent message on his X account, calling for an end to “barbarity in Gaza” as he also prayed for the three Christians, by name, who lost their lives during the recent attack by the Israeli army on Holy Family church in Gaza.
“Tragic news continues to arrive in these days from the Middle East, especially from Gaza. I express my profound sadness regarding last Thursday’s attack by the Israeli army on the Catholic Parish of the Holy Family in Gaza City, which as you know killed three Christians and gravely wounded others. I pray for the victims, Saad Issa Kostandi Salameh, Foumia Issa Latif Ayyad, Najwa Ibrahim Latif Abu Daoud, and I am particularly close to their families and to all the parishioners.

Obama’s ODNI Scuttled Intelligence Briefing To Preserve Russia-Collusion Hoax
Internal emails released on Friday by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard reveal that after former President Barack Obama ordered an intelligence assessment of Russia’s election influence, a top official in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence scuttled the release of an already-completed intelligence report that concluded Russia had not hacked the 2016 presidential election.
On Friday, Director Gabbard released newly declassified documents, including scores of emails related to a 7-page draft President’s Daily Brief or PDB. That draft PDB, dated December 8, 2016, concluded, “Russian and criminal actors did not impact recent US election results by conducting malicious cyber activities against election infrastructure.”

Obama administration whipped up Russia investigation in ‘treasonous conspiracy,’ Gabbard says
The Obama administration knew before and after the 2016 election that Russia did not affect the vote’s outcome through cyberattacks, according to a bombshell document released by the Trump administration Friday.
Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard made public more than 100 pages of emails, memos and other records cataloguing what she called Obama officials’ “conspiracy to subvert President Trump’s 2016 victory.”
Both before and after Democrat Hillary Clinton’s loss, the US Intelligence Community assessed that Russia played no significant role influencing the election.

Trump sues Wall Street Journal for libel over Epstein letter
President Trump sued the Wall Street Journal on Friday over a story describing a “bawdy” birthday letter bearing his name that the outlet says was given to Jeffrey Epstein, new court filing shows.
In the 18-page filing, Trump’s legal team slammed the WSJ report as “false, defamatory, unsubstantiated, and disparaging” and is seeking at least $20 billion for damage.

Federal court strikes down law forcing priests to break the seal of Confession
A federal court today blocked a new Washington state law that would have forced Catholic priests to face jail time unless they broke the sacred seal of confession. The law at issue in Etienne v. Ferguson, which was set to take effect on July 27, required clergy to report abuse shared within the sacred confines of the confessional. WilmerHale and co-counsel Becket and First Liberty Institute represent the lead plaintiffs Archbishop Paul D. Etienne, Bishop Joseph J. Tyson, and Bishop Thomas A. Daly, who filed an initial lawsuit earlier this summer.
After a July 14 hearing where Washington argued its new law lacked “legislative animus,” the court ruled that the state was “unable to explain why the language in § 1(b) of the bill doubled down on singling out clergy.”

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued a scathing legal memo July 14, condemning a federal judge’s decision to temporarily block the Trump administration’s one-year ban on taxpayer dollars going to Planned Parenthood.
“Simply put, Planned Parenthood has no right to taxpayer money, and this Court should not invent such a right,” HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wrote in the memo. “The Court should uphold Congress’s lawful exercise of its authority to decide to whom it will entrust taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars.”

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee visited the Christian village of Taybeh July 19 after an arson attack by Israeli settlers near the fifth-century Church of Saint George, condemning the violence as a “crime against humanity and God.”
“Taybeh is a quiet Palestinian Christian village south of Jerusalem w/ a lot of American citizens that has been vandalized-including fires set at ancient church,” Huckabee, a Christian, wrote on X. “I visited there today.”

American Ambassador Threatens To Declare That Israel Does Not Welcome Christians
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has threatened to declare in public that Israel is not welcoming of Christian groups. He said the country is not approving tourist visas for Evangelical missions.
In addition, things have worsened between the two groups since an Israeli strike on Gaza’s only Catholic Church on Thursday killed three people and injured several more, according to The Times of Israel. US Catholic Seminaries Said to Be in a ‘Golden Age’
For decades, Catholic seminaries — buffeted by the post-Vatican II turmoil of the 1960s and the sex-abuse crisis — have seen the ranks of candidates for the priesthood steadily shrink.
So far, that trend hasn’t changed, but it no longer reflects the reality within seminaries, which are at the healthiest point they have been in for decades in terms of culture and quality of priestly formation, experts say.
