Starmer Finally Quits as UK PM

It’s Official: UK PM will step down, with replacement in place by September at the latest.

As expected, British prime minister Keir Starmer announced his resignation as leader of the Labour Party—and, by extension, as PM—on Monday, June 22nd.

Standing outside 10 Downing Street, the PM spelled out his decision:

The question being asked now is not who was best placed to change the Labour party, to take us into power and to begin the vital work of improving lives for millions of people. Those questions have been answered.

The question my party is asking now is whether I am best placed to lead us into the next general election.

I have heard the answer of my parliamentary party to that question, and I accept that answer with good grace.

Every decision I’ve taken has been about putting the country I love first. That is why I will resign as leader of the Labour party.

I have spoken to His Majesty the King this morning to inform him of my decision.

The proposed timetable for replacing Starmer would likely completed in time for the state opening of Parliament in September, although it is not yet clear whether or not this would involve a Labour leadership election.

Starmer remains scheduled to attend a limited calendar of international commitments, stretching into July.

The Mass Rape Of British Girls By Pakistani Immigrants Is An Act Of War by Samuel Kimzey

The problem is not ultimately about sexual abuse, but about mass immigration from non-European countries.

While some journalists and right-wing figures had known about them for decades, the horror of the U.K. rape gangs received a long-overdue wave of public attention beginning with Elon Musk’s high-profile posts about them in January 2025. Along with the current U.K. government’s Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs, Rupert Lowe of the Restore Britain party just released the Rape Gang Inquiry Report. The Inquiry was initiated by Lowe and was headed by Sammy Woodhouse, herself a survivor of abuse at the hands of the rape gangs. Many shocking and informative highlights and summaries from the report have been spreading on social media, such as this one from Libs of TikTok.

The 2026 Rape Gang Inquiry Report is one of the most thorough attempts yet to document the scale of the rape and trafficking of white British girls within the U.K. at the hands of predominantly Pakistani Muslim men. While reports of the abuse in centers like Rotherham, Telford, and Oxford may be the most detailed, this was a national phenomenon. The report summarizes …

Obama’s Hideous Monument to Hubris by David Catron

It is the perfect symbol for a sociopathic solipsist and a failed presidency.

When the Democrats nominated Barack Obama to represent their party in the 2008 presidential election many voters consoled themselves with this thought: “Well, at least it’s not Hillary.” Unfortunately, preventing her from taking up residence in the White House was the last useful thing he did for the country. Indeed, from the moment he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize as a participation trophy during his first year in office, it became clear that there would be a huge gap between his actual accomplishments and the celebration of his presidency. The grotesque monolith that towers over the South Side of Chicago is the perfect symbol of that chasm.

There is, however, no such gap between Obama’s grandiose self image and the monument to himself that he has now inflicted on the Chicago skyline. All presidential libraries are vanity projects, of course, but the Barack Obama Presidential Center radiates hubris in a way that would have embarrassed Ozymandius. It all but screams, “I am Barack Obama, president of presidents: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!” Unlike Percy Bysshe Shelly, the author of that prescient poem, Obama clearly has no clue that the sands of history will eventually bury him. Etched in gigantic letters on the exterior of the monolith is an excerpt from Obama’s 2015 speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma. …

[His] failures perhaps portended the sheer ugliness of his monument. He reportedly interfered with its architects, and personally dictated important aesthetic choices. Maybe his hubris is such that he believed he knew more than the professionals. This is certainly an accurate reflection of his presidency. It doesn’t matter in the end. Obama’s legacy, like that of Ozymandias, will amount to nothing more than a colossal wreck of the monument he built to himself.

[Cardinals] McElroy and Cupich back James Martin’s LGBT congress and highlight continuity with Francis

Cardinals Robert McElroy and Blase Cupich have sent messages of support to the participants of the Outreach 2026 conference, organized by Jesuit James Martin at Georgetown University, in which they present “LGBT pastoral care” as part of the orientation promoted during the pontificate of Francis and developed in the current synodal process.

The letters, dated June 19 and disseminated by the organization Outreach, coincide with the celebration of the fifth anniversary of this initiative founded by Martin, one of the best-known figures in the United States for his work with people who identify as LGBT within the Church.

In his message to attendees, Cardinal Robert McElroy, Archbishop of Washington, stated that the conference is taking place at a particularly significant moment for this pastoral field.

“The pastoral foundations established by Pope Francis for an authentic ministry with and for the LGBT community are being deepened and refined by Pope Leo,” he wrote.

The cardinal linked this statement to the recent report of Study Group 9 of the Synod on Synodality, dedicated to issues related to the pastoral care of people who identify as LGBT.

[Post-Orbán] Budapest Files Police Report after Pride Flags Thrown into Danube

Budapest city authorities have announced that they will file a police report after several Progress Pride flags displayed on the Erzsébet Bridge disappeared less than a day after being installed, in what officials suspect was an act of deliberate vandalism.

The issue came to light after residents noticed that the flags were no longer hanging from the bridge and alerted local media. Responding to questions, the office of liberal Mayor Gergely Karácsony confirmed that the reports were accurate and stated that ‘intentional damage is suspected’.

On Sunday, a video showing a man removing one of the flags from the bridge and throwing it into the Danube began circulating on Hungarian social media. City officials said the missing flags would be replaced ‘within days’, arguing that they belong in a ‘free, diverse and supportive Budapest’ during Pride Month and ahead of the Budapest Pride march. …

Fr. Chris Alar expounds on English martyrs St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher, prays for England

St. Thomas More and St. John Fisher are names we recognize but do we fully understand what they did and how we are still doing what they stood against? How did Henry VIII and Bloody Mary affect the course of history? As they both showed, defending the Faith and the gifts God gives us, such as marriage and the Church, is something worth dying for.
