President Donald Trump headlined a campaign rally in Dalton on Friday as Georgia’s nationally watched midterm races entered their final stretch.
The event took place at Dalton Municipal Airport, where newly elected U.S. Rep. Clay Fuller — facing a challenge from Democrat Shawn Harris in the 14th congressional district — appeared.
Republican candidates U.S. Rep. Mike Collins (U.S. Senate); Rick Jackson (governor); state Sen. Greg Dolezal (lieutenant governor); Brian Strickland (attorney general); Tim Fleming (secretary of state); John King (incumbent Insurance and Fire commissioner); and Fuller spoke to the thousands in attendance ahead of Trump’s arrival.
Collins and U.S. Reps. Andrew Clyde, Rich McCormick and Austin Scott met the president at the steps of Marine One when he arrived.
Friday marked Trump’s third stop in Georgia this year, after visits to Rome in February and Wheeler High School in Cobb County in July. He last appeared in Dalton on Jan. 4, 2021, ahead of Georgia’s U.S. Senate runoffs.

Bishops’ Immigration Campaign Intensifies by Christopher Manion
Should We Be Surprised?
Yesterday we reported that after 25 years of promising “transparency” and “accountability” regarding the American hierarchy’s abuse and cover-up scandals, Archbishop Blase Cupich has doubled down in the heat of election season. Abortion is no longer the “preeminent political issue” for the USCCB – immigration is.
The cards are now face-up on the table: it’s election season again, and the bishops have returned once more to the fold. They’ve been Democrats since James Cardinal cheered on Woodrow Wilson’s War in 1917, even though most Catholics had supported Wilson six months earlier because he had promised to “Keep Us Out of War.”
Betrayal? Never mind. The grateful Democrats and their welfare state have treated them very well ever since.
Bottom Line: A Democrat victory this November will get the USCCB back on the road to getting their taxpayer billions back in 2029.

Two Christian groups were paid $62M to resettle tens of thousands of Somalis in Minnesota
Two church non-profits have taken in at least $62 million to build the Somali community in Minnesota — leading to the rise of Ilhan Omar and the fraud scandals that have gripped that state, The Post can reveal.
Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services were at the forefront of reshaping the frigid Land of 10,000 Lakes thanks to generous government contracts stemming back generations.
“This is a very big pile of government money and a whole bunch of different groups have come to get their own slice of it,” Parker Thayer, an immigration expert at the Washington, DC-based Capital Research Center, told The Post.
He added the total money pouring into Minneapolis resettlement programs alone is “in the hundreds of millions.”

Catholic and Evangelical Leaders Unite in Call for Compassionate Immigration Reform
Evangelical-Catholic Dialogue on Immigration releases statement on the effects of enforcement actions on families
“There is much that can be done to avoid the rupturing of our families and communities brought about by indiscriminate and aggressive enforcement actions,” said Bishop Brendan Cahill and Rev. Walter Kim in an ecumenical statement released Tuesday.
Bishop Cahill serves as the chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Migration and Rev. Kim as the president of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE). Together, they lead the Evangelical-Catholic Dialogue on Immigration (ECDI) as its co-chairs.
Today’s statement, “A Call for Christian Compassion and Wisdom in the Immigration Debate,” represents the first such statement on immigration in U.S. history to be jointly issued by senior leaders of the Catholic and evangelical traditions.

Texas bishop affirms right to life after Catholic voter challenges Talarico on abortion
The bishop’s remarks come as Texas Senate nominee James Talarico faces scrutiny over his interpretation of Scripture’s stance on abortion ahead of the Nov. 3 election.
Fort Worth, Texas, Bishop Michael Olson emphasized Oct. 14 that all human rights depend on the right to life, following a town hall exchange over Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico’s support for abortion.
Bishop Olson commented in a post on X after Catholic voter Jodi Hunt challenged Talarico’s claim that the Bible is silent on abortion.
“The right to life is the premier moral issue because all human rights depend upon the human person being alive. The right to life is the common ground for the morality of all issues considered in policies involving human dignity and the common good,” the bishop wrote.
