Trump says China ‘settled’ rare earth dispute, will begin purchasing ‘American energy’
President Donald Trump commented on his ‘truly great meeting’ with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday aboard Air Force One and announced several important revelations.
Trump said the issue regarding the rare earth element dispute between China and the U.S. has been resolved. According to reports, a Trump administration official said the U.S. and China had come to “an understanding” and that China was not going to “impose the rare earth controls that they proposed. “
“We have a deal. Now every year we’ll renegotiate the deal,” Trump said to the media on Air Force One. “All of the rare earth has been settled, and that’s for the world.”

Banks, credit unions urge Congress to end government shutdown as economic fallout grows
Leading financial organizations representing banks and credit unions across the U.S. are calling on Congress to act quickly to end the ongoing government shutdown, citing growing risks to local economies, small businesses and everyday Americans.
The American Bankers Association said banks are stepping up to “support military families, federal employees and other customers directly affected by the government shutdown through fee waivers, loan modifications and other relief.”
However, the group noted that such assistance will not prevent the shutdown from continuing to damage the U.S. economy.
“We urge lawmakers to pass a clean continuing resolution and resolve their policy differences with the government open and functioning,” the association said.

States sue Trump administration to keep SNAP benefits during government shutdown
A group of more than two dozen states sued the Trump administration on Tuesday, seeking to maintain funding of so-called SNAP benefits during the ongoing federal government shutdown.
The suit was filed four days after the Trump administration said it would not use $6 billion in Congressionally-appropriated emergency funding to maintain benefits during the shutdown from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which provides food stamps to more than 40 million Americans.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, which blames Senate Democrats for not ending the shutdown, has said that SNAP benefits will cease on Saturday, the lawsuit noted.

‘100 Times Worse Than Watergate’: 3 Biggest Revelations From Latest ‘Arctic Frost’ Document Dump
Sen. Chuck Grassley revealed Wednesday that former President Joe Biden’s corrupt Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) compiled what’s being described as an “enemies list” of Republicans to target, including through wiretapping the phones of several high-ranking Republicans as part of their “get-Trump” lawfare.
Grassley revealed more than 1,700 pages of documents provided by whistleblowers, shining further light on the “Arctic-Frost” inquiry. Arctic Frost was an investigation led by the Biden administration to, as The Federalist’s Margot Cleveland explained, “target Republicans in key battleground states.” Then-FBI Director Christopher Wray sent a memorandum to then-Attorney General Merrick Garland claiming that “fraudulent certificates of electors’ votes were submitted to the Archivist of the United States” for Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin. Wray also asserted that these votes were part of a grand conspiracy to obstruct the certification of the 2020 election.

Winsome Earle-Sears forced off campaign trail due to Virginia redistricting battle
Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears‘s campaign is having to carry on without her, with less than one week before Election Day, after Democrats’ surprise redistricting move called her back to Richmond.
The move from Democrats, the latest in a string of redistricting efforts from both parties, set off a wave of Republican outrage and confusion among voters gathered to see her at a campaign stop in the central part of the state. At a coffee shop in Charlottesville, where Earle-Sears had been scheduled to campaign Tuesday afternoon, her husband Terence Sears took the stage in her place, joined by Rep. John McGuire (R-VA) and Republican lieutenant governor candidate John Reid.
The event was the third one Earle-Sears has had to forgo due to the special session. Despite her absence, supporters packed the room, waving signs and snapping photos as the two men denounced a calculated political maneuver to keep the GOP’s top statewide candidate off the trail during her crucial final week.

After canonizations, Venezuela sees new strains in Church-state relations
Tensions between the Church and state in Venezuela have reached a new high after the canonizations of the first Venezuelan saints earlier this month.
Priests and bishops are reporting an increase in threats from the regime, while several Masses of thanksgiving following the canonizations have seen government interference.
The relationship between Church and state has become so strained that observers have speculated that the country could be following the path of Nicaragua, a country with an ideologically similar authoritarian regime, where many bishops and priests have faced exile in recent years.
But while such an outcome is possible, there is also reason to think that the Venezuelan regime could count the cost of cutting ties with the Church completely to be too high – particularly given the Church’s potential as an intermediary between Venezuela and the United States.

Illinois Abortion Clinic Promises Hope, Delivers ‘A Nightmare’
Less than 10 miles to the northeast of St. Louis sits Illinois’ oldest continuously operating abortion clinic.
Granite City’s deceptively named Hope Clinic is well known in the Midwest for its long history of butchering babies since 1974—just one year after the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade. Much less publicized is the clinic’s apparent history of butchering women.
A search of Madison County’s court records turns up decades of lawsuits accusing Hope Clinic and its abortionists of medical malpractice, negligence, and even wrongful death. Dozens of online reviews build on those claims with chilling tales of unsanitary conditions, verbal abuse, and lasting physical and emotional trauma.
Still, the clinic not only remains open but has now expanded to include a swanky new location in Uptown Chicago that advertises “all-trimester” abortions.
So, how does a business plagued by litigation and poor reviews manage to survive? [Answer:] Nameless, faceless donors obscured by the Left’s favorite dark money network.

‘Triumph Over Evil’ Documentary Highlights the Church’s Battles With Satan
Just as Halloween rolls around, along comes Triumph Over Evil: Battle of the Exorcists as a countermeasure. When so many people are focused on the ghoulish part of Halloween, this film about exorcism presents the reality that toying with evil is not at all fun and games, while assuring that there are unbeatable remedies at the ready.
The only feature documentary on exorcism approved and endorsed by the International Association of Exorcists (IAE), a pontifical association founded by Father Gabriele Amorth, Triumph Over Evil presents several exorcists who expose evil and explain exorcisms to clear up misconceptions, set records straight, and reveal the way everyone can be protected from falling into the devil’s wiles. And if they have, what can be done to free them.
The best known of the half-dozen priests and friars who make up this film is the late Father Amorth, who died in 2016. …

Pope Leo XIV: ‘The Church does not tolerate antisemitism’
Pope Leo XIV on Wednesday strongly condemned antisemitism during his general audience in St. Peter’s Square marking the 60th anniversary of Nostra Aetate, the Second Vatican Council document on the Church’s relations with other religions.
The pope underlined that since the publication of Nostra Aetate, “all of my predecessors have condemned antisemitism with clear words.”
“And so I too confirm that the Church does not tolerate antisemitism and fights against it, on the basis of the Gospel itself,” Leo said on Oct. 29.
