Maria Machado praises Trump for his ‘courageous visions’ and ‘historical actions’

Nobel Peace Prize recipient and Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado hailed President Donald Trump’s effort to extract and arrest the country’s de facto but illegitimate leader, Nicolas Maduro.

On her X account on January 3rd, Machado posted, “Venezuelans, the hour of freedom has arrived.” On Monday, Machado appeared on Hannity on Fox News. She said that January 3, 2026, is a day that will be remembered forever in Venezuela as the day tyranny was defeated.

While speaking to Hannity, Machado was quite complimentary to Trump, praising him for his efforts to oust Maduro and bring him “to justice.”

“I do want to say today, on behalf of the Venezuelan people, how grateful we are for his courageous vision, the actions, historical actions he has taken against this narco-terrorist regime to start dismantling this structure and bringing Maduro to justice, which means that 30 million Venezuelans are now closer to freedom, but also that the United States of America is a safer country nowadays,” Machado said. …

Democrats Once Demanded Maduro’s Ouster. Now They Mourn His Capture — Because Trump Did It

President Donald J. Trump has scored another remarkable foreign policy triumph: the bold capture and extradition of Nicolas Maduro, the indicted narcoterrorist and socialist dictator who plunged Venezuela into chaos, starved its people, and menaced American security, now detained on U.S. soil to face long-overdue justice.

Democrats spent years howling that Maduro was a ruthless tyrant who had to be delegitimized, pressured, and removed. But the instant President Trump succeeds where they failed, they erupt in furious hypocrisy — prioritizing their unhinged hatred of President Trump over American interests and national security.

Here are just a few of the many hypocritical Democrats then vs. now …

Pentagon Moves To Demote Mark Kelly For ‘Seditious’ Video

The Pentagon has initiated proceedings to demote and dock the pay of Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., a retired Navy captain, after his participation in a “seditious” video telling America’s warfighters “to refuse lawful orders” from the president of the United States. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced the proceedings in a social media statement on Monday.

Kelly was joined by five other members of Congress, including four other former members of the military, but Kelly’s official “retired” status renders him subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice, unlike the others. In November, the Pentagon considered recalling him back into service to potentially face a court-martial for the video.

Here’s What the Trump Administration Is Doing to Crush Minnesota’s Fraud Epidemic

President Donald J. Trump and his Administration are unleashing a relentless assault to dismantle the massive fraud empires built in Minnesota under the watch of incompetent Democrats like Tim Walz and his Radical Left enablers.

Fueled by shocking video from Nick Shirley and tenacious reporting by Alpha News exposing the Somali-dominated scams that have bled taxpayers dry, this Administration is spearheading a no-holds-barred effort to hunt down and prosecute the criminals who have exploited Democrats’ non-existent oversight to bilk hardworking taxpayers out of billions of dollars. …

Charlotte [North Carolina] priests submit dubia to Vatican over liturgical changes

More than 30 priests in the Diocese of Charlotte have submitted a set of questions to the Vatican related to recent liturgical changes announced by the local bishop, including a decision to ban the use of altar rails and kneelers for communion.

The dubia were sent in a letter to the Dicastery for Legislative Texts on Jan. 5.

The letter, obtained by The Pillar, requested formal guidance and clarification about whether a diocesan bishop has the authority to make liturgical changes announced and proposed by Charlotte Bishop Michael Martin, OMF Conv., in recent months.

The letter containing the dubia was signed by 31 priests from the Diocese of Charlotte — roughly a quarter of the priests in the diocese, according to the diocesan priest directory.

Bishop Ricken [Green Bay, Wisconsin] announces formal inquiry into life of Servant of God Adele Brice

Bishop David L. Ricken of Green Bay, Wisconsin, has issued an edict formally announcing a diocesan inquiry into the life of Servant of God Adele Brice, the 19th-century Belgian immigrant who received the only Church-approved Marian apparitions in the United States.

The edict, made on Dec. 28, 2025, during Mass on the feast of the Holy Family at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay, Wisconsin, invites the faithful to submit testimonies that could support her cause for beatification and canonization, including personal experiences, documents, or accounts of intercessions attributed to Brice.

The edict stems from a formal petition, or Supplex libellus, submitted on May 24, 2024, by Valentina Culurgioni, the appointed postulator for the cause, on behalf of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion, the actor of the cause.
