Trump delivers Memorial Day remarks at Arlington National Cemetery
President Donald Trump is set to speak at Arlington National Cemetery as part of the commemoration of Memorial Day on Monday.
Trump is expected to speak at noon from Arlington, Virginia, after participating in a wreath-laying ceremony at the cemetery across the Potomac River from Washington.
The speech at Arlington National Cemetery is Trump’s only public event scheduled for Monday, even as negotiations over a resolution to the war in Iran remain ongoing behind the scenes.

Trump Urges Arab Nations to Join Abraham Accords Once Iran Deal Is Sealed
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday it should be mandatory for countries including Qatar, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and Turkey to join the Abraham Accords en masse as part of an effort to reach a deal with Iran.
Trump said he spoke on Saturday to leaders of those countries, as well as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, which already has signed the accords, a set of agreements to normalize relations with Israel.
“I stated that, after all the work done by the United States to try and pull this very complex puzzle together, it should be mandatory that all of these Countries, at a minimum, simultaneously, sign onto the Abraham Accords,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Monday.

Gabbard To Step Down As DNI Following Husband’s ‘Rare’ Bone Cancer Diagnosis
In a major loss for the country, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard announced Friday her plans to resign from her post at the end of June. The former congresswoman cited her husband’s recent diagnosis of an “extremely rare form of bone cancer” as the reason for her departure.
“Abraham has been my rock throughout our eleven years of marriage — standing steadfast through my deployment to East Africa on a Joint Special Operations mission, multiple political campaigns, and now my service in this role. His strength and love have sustained me through every challenge,” Gabbard wrote in a letter addressed to President Trump. “I cannot in good conscience ask him to face this fight alone while I continue in this demanding and time-consuming position.”
Gabbard said she will officially depart her role as DNI on June 30. While noting the “significant progress” she and her team made at the Office of Director of National Intelligence, “advancing unprecedented transparency and restoring integrity to the intelligence community,” the Hawaii native acknowledged “there is still important work to be done.” She stated that she is “fully committed to ensuring a smooth and thorough transition over the coming weeks” so the president and his team “experience no disruption in leadership or momentum.”

Amazing Moments From SpaceX’s Starship Flight, With a Stunning Ending by Nick Arama
Elon Musk and SpaceX were at it again on Friday with the launch of their Starship.
SpaceX’s third-generation Starship, called V3, took off from a brand-new launch pad at Starbase in Texas. And the unmanned ship was quite something to see. …
Among the things the Starship was testing during flight were launching satellites and making a variety of turns. They had a problem with one of the engines not firing as the booster attempted a controlled return, and a couple of other issues. But they deployed a pair of camera-equipped Starlinks to provide views of the ship in flight, which was a pretty amazing first, and the flight was largely successful.
It was one of the heaviest payloads ever at 45 tons because they’re testing the ability to carry a payload and the thrust needed for that. The goal: to use the vehicles to help NASA land astronauts on the moon, and ultimately go to Mars.

The pope thanked Anthropic co-founder Christopher Olah for his presence at the presentation: “What a great sign of hope it is that with our differences we can listen to one another.”
Pope Leo XIV on Monday personally attended the presentation of his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, in an uncustomary gesture. Upon his arrival at the event, held in the Vaticanʼs Synod Hall, he was greeted with sustained applause from an audience made up of members of the Roman Curia, representatives of academia, and the diplomatic corps.
Among the speakers was Canadian Christopher Olah, co-founder of Anthropic, one of the leading artificial intelligence (AI) companies. The firm has recently had tensions with the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump after prohibiting the U.S. Department of Defense from using its software for military purposes.
Some observers had raised concerns about including a representative of a major tech company like Anthropic in an event of this kind. The Holy Father himself dispelled any hesitation by thanking Olah for his presence: “What a great sign of hope it is that with our differences we can listen to one another,” he said in his remarks.
