White House eyes Budapest for peace talks with Zelenskyy and Putin

The White House is planning for a possible trilateral meeting between the U.S., Russian and Ukrainian presidents in the Hungarian capital of Budapest as the next steps in negotiating an end to the years-long war, according to a Trump administration official and a person close to the administration.

The U.S. Secret Service is preparing for the summit in the Central European nation led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who has been close with President Donald Trump since the American president’s first term in office.

While the Secret Service often scouts multiple locations and the ultimate venue could change, Budapest is emerging as a first choice for the White House, said the two people, both granted anonymity to discuss private conversations. …

Gabbard: Russiagate Undermined the Integrity of Our Republic, The Real Crime Was Against the American People

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard talks to FOX News host Sean Hannity about the “seditious conspiracy” in the Obama intelligence community to undermine President Donald Trump’s first presidency after Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election. …

[According to Gabbard,] they created this politicized, weaponized piece of fake intelligence that, as you mentioned, then went on to serve as a foundation for everything that came after, the multiple investigations, the years-long Mueller investigation, two congressional impeachments, investigations in the raid at Mar-a-Lago. The list goes on and on.

Ultimately, the real crime here was against the American people because this action singularly undermined the integrity of our democratic republic.

Court says California school district must allow Christian club access to facilities

A federal district court has ordered that a California school district must grant a Christian children’s club equal access to school facilities, arguing that the denial of that access violates the club’s free speech rights.

The Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) will be required to provide “equal access to available spaces and benefits” to the group Child Evangelism Fellowship of NorCal, District Judge Haywood Gilliam Jr. said in an Aug. 15 ruling.

The court order found that the school district apparently engaged in “viewpoint discrimination” in violation of the U.S. Constitution when it barred the group from after-school use of campus facilities.

The Education Department found last month that Arlington Public Schools, Alexandria City Public Schools, Fairfax County Public Schools, Loudoun County Public Schools and the Prince William County Public Schools violated Title IX by allowing students access to “intimate, sex-segregated facilities” based on the students’ chosen gender identity instead of their biological sex.

Canada is Killing Itself – The country gave its citizens the right to die. Doctors are struggling to keep up with demand.

When Canada’s Parliament in 2016 legalized the practice of euthanasia—Medical Assistance in Dying, or MAID, as it’s formally called—it launched an open-ended medical experiment. One day, administering a lethal injection to a patient was against the law; the next, it was as legitimate as a tonsillectomy, but often with less of a wait. MAID now accounts for about one in 20 deaths in Canada—more than Alzheimer’s and diabetes combined—surpassing countries where assisted dying has been legal for far longer.

More Americans joining Catholic Church than leaving for first time in decades

The Catholic Church in the United States appears to be entering a period of renewed growth, with the latest data showing that more people are now joining than leaving.

Figures compiled by Shane Schaetzel, using research from the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA), the Pew Research Center, the National Catholic Register, and Vatican statistics, suggest that after two decades of decline, adult conversions are once again on the rise.

At the beginning of the millennium, annual conversions stood at around 175,000. Over the following twenty years, the numbers steadily diminished, reaching a low of 70,000 in 2020. Since then, however, the trend has reversed sharply. … Importantly, these conversions are domestic in character. They do not represent Catholic immigrants being counted anew, but rather Americans themselves choosing to embrace the faith.

Cardinal Pizzaballa Warns that Satan is Trying to Rule Where Jesus Lived

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa [in a recent homily] warns of Satan’s desire to rule where Jesus lived. The Patriarch’s diocese encompasses people living in Israel and those living in Gaza, the Palestinian territories and the West Bank.

“It really does seem that our Holy Land, which houses the highest revelation and manifestation of God, is also the place of the highest manifestation of Satan’s power. And perhaps precisely because it is the Place where the heart of salvation history is located, it is also the place where “the Ancient Adversary” tries to assert himself more than anywhere else,” said the prelate.

Pope says forgiveness means evil doesn’t have to have the last word

During his General Audience, Pope Leo XIV spoke about the importance of forgiveness in the lives of people, looking at the story of Judas Iscariot’s betrayal of Jesus.

“How many relationships are broken, how many stories become complicated, how many unspoken words remain suspended,” the pontiff said in the Paul VI Audience Hall in the Vatican on Aug. 20.

“And yet the Gospel shows us that there is always a way to continue to love, even when everything seems irredeemably compromised. To forgive does not mean to deny evil, but to prevent it from generating further evil. It is not to say that nothing has happened, but to do everything possible to ensure that resentment does not determine the future,” Leo said.
