After Claiming ‘Baseball Is For Everyone,’ MLB Threatens Players For Expressing Christian Faith by Shawn Fleetwood

Major League Baseball (MLB) threatened to punish several Christian ballplayers for the San Francisco Giants on Monday after they inscribed Bible verses on their team’s “pride night” uniforms.

“The writing on the cap violates our rules, and consistent with normal practice, we have warned the players about future violations,” MLB Chief Communications Officer Pat Courtney said in a statement to media outlets.

The league further claimed that “writing on uniforms violates MLB rules,” according to local media.

The warning came days after pitchers Landen Roupp, JT Brubaker, and Ryan Walker all wrote variations of Genesis 9:12-16 on their LGBT-themed hats during the Giants’ Friday matchup against the Chicago Cubs. The Bible verses detail God’s use of a rainbow to symbolize His covenant that He would never again destroy mankind by flooding the Earth.

Giants pitcher Sam Hentges declined to wear the team’s rainbow-colored hat altogether.

FBI arrests 5 people in connection with drone attack plot against White House UFC Freedom 250 event

The FBI thwarted an explosive drone attack targeting Sunday’s UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House South Lawn and have already taken five suspects into custody, officials told The Post Tuesday.

The multi-phase terror attack allegedly involved using explosive-laden drone aircraft to strike buildings in the vicinity of the event, sparking mass panic and driving the fleeing crowd toward a sniper team poised to pick victims off, the officials said.

A “second wave” of attackers then allegedly planned to storm the White House gate, the officials added.

The plot was “stopped cold” on June 10 after investigators executed a search warrant in Cincinnati, where the first arrest was made, FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement.

15 Members of Direct Action Minnesota, a Minneapolis-Based Direct Action Group with Antifa Ties, Indicted

Charges Include Conspiracy to Impede or Injure a Federal Officer, Interstate Stalking, Interstate Threats, Solicitation to Commit a Crime of Violence, and Assaults on Federal Officers

The Justice Department today announced that 15 members and associates of Direct Action Minnesota (DAMN) have been charged with various federal crimes, including conspiracy to impede a federal officer, multiple counts of interstate stalking, interstate threats, solicitation to commit a crime of violence, multiple counts of assault on a federal officer, and destruction of government property.

Over the last 24 hours, federal agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted a coordinated law enforcement operation culminating in the arrest of 12 DAMN members. Two DAMN members are at-large, and one was previously in federal custody on separate charges.

“As alleged, these defendants, which included members of Antifa groups, engaged in an unrelenting campaign of harassment and violence targeting federal and local law enforcement,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “Their actions created a dangerous environment that threatened not only their intended targets, but the community as a whole. These arrests demonstrate the Department’s commitment to law and order and stopping organized political violence in Minneapolis and beyond.”

Usha Vance says Catholic faith brought stability to Vice President JD Vance

Second Lady Usha Vance says the Catholic faith has provided stability and direction for Vice President JD Vance, recently remarking that while therapy may help some people, the Church is what has made a difference in her husband’s life.

Ahead of the release of JD’s new book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, Usha commented in a recent interview with CBS News’ “Sunday Morning” on her husband’s 2019 conversion to Catholicism and the role faith has played in his life.

Robert Costa asked Usha about a remark JD recalled her having made to him: “Therapy didn’t work for you; church does.”

Usha explained that while therapy can be beneficial for many people, her husband “just didn’t have the right kind of trust in that process.” Instead, he found a sense of belonging through the Church.

Prague cathedral inaugurates new organ in rare ‘awakening’ ceremony

During the inauguration, Pragueʼs archbishop performed an unusual rite of “awakening” the new organ, addressing the instrument and asking it to fill the cathedral with music.

On the feast of St. Vitus, the new organ in the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslaus, and Adalbert in Prague was inaugurated. The instrument, whose construction had been started by the former archbishop of Prague, Cardinal Dominik Duka, was blessed by his successor and now-Archbishop Emeritus Jan Graubner on Monday, June 15.

“Remember all those who have built and protected this temple for centuries, also the generous patrons of this instrument, and especially those who did not live to see its completion and todayʼs blessing,” Graubner said during the blessing.

He asked the Lord to accept this work of the patrons and benefactors and “to give them a share in the heavenly harmony that never ceases.”

The ceremony, which featured the Czech Philharmonic, was broadcast live by Czech public television.
