Hilton, Becerra Lead in California Governor’s Primary
Republican businessman and commentator Steve Hilton emerged as the frontrunner in California’s closely watched gubernatorial primary, leading the race to secure one of two spots in November’s general election.
With just over half of ballots counted Wednesday, Hilton held 27.8% of the vote, ahead of former Biden administration official and Democrat Xavier Becerra, who received 25.4%.
Under California’s controversial “jungle primary” system, all candidates compete on the same ballot regardless of party, and the top two vote-getters advance to the general election.
Democrat billionaire Tom Steyer trailed in third place with 19.6%, leaving Hilton in a strong position as Republicans seek to regain influence in a state long dominated by Democrat leadership.

Los Angeles Mayor Bass fails to get majority vote, will advance to November runoff
Due to late-arriving mail and drop-off ballot counts, California often sees substantial vote updates after Election Day that can significantly shift outcomes.
Los Angeles Karen Bass on Tuesday failed to get the support of at least 51% of Los Angeles voters.
She managed to pull out just ahead of her challengers and will advance to a November runoff, the Associated Press reported.
As of Wednesday morning, the Associated Press had not yet called who Bass will face in November, but Republican reality TV star Spencer Pratt was coming in behind Bass in early results.
Due to late-arriving mail and drop-off ballot counts, California often sees substantial vote updates after Election Day that can significantly shift outcomes.
In the Los Angeles mayoral race, if no candidate receives at least 51% of the vote in the primary, then the top two candidates face each other in the November general election.

How Bill Pulte turned being an attack dog into a charm offensive with Trump
Housing finance guru Bill Pulte captured President Donald Trump‘s attention by referring the commander in chief’s political enemies to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution over allegations of mortgage fraud.
But Pulte, a frequent flyer on Air Force One, has used his political savvy and Trump’s favor to leverage an otherwise lackluster role as Federal Housing Finance Agency director and chairman of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into a Cabinet-level position: acting director of national intelligence.
Roger Stone has taken credit for Pulte’s meteoric rise to the upper echelons of the intelligence community, despite concerns regarding the status of his security clearance.
But a source close to the White House told the Washington Examiner Pulte got the job because, in part, he asked for it.
“He likes Pulte. He has a soft spot for Pulte,” the source said. “Clearly, Pulte obviously wanted it, and Trump was like, ‘Sure, why not.’ I don’t know if the Senate’s pushback will work or if it’ll just anger Trump and make him dig in his heels.”
That explanation is doing little to reassure lawmakers who question whether Pulte possesses the traditional qualifications for one of the government’s most sensitive national security jobs.
Republican senators, some of whom were already rankled by Trump’s now-defunct anti-weaponization fund and his endorsement of Ken Paxton in Texas’s Senate race, have expressed skepticism regarding Pulte’s credentials.

Henry Nowak’s Murder Is Much Worse Than Just Anti-White Racism by Sean Davis
The forces driving Third-World immigration into the West don’t care about skin color nearly as much as they care about destroying the Christian foundation of modern society.
So much of the commentary on the horrific killing of British university student Henry Nowak, and the evil response of law enforcement, has focused on Nowak’s race: he’s white, and his assailant is not, and as a result, the authorities coddled the murderous Indian immigrant and punished the innocent white victim.
Obviously this is anti-white racism, right?
Yes, but I think it is worse than that. Because skin color here is being used as a proxy. The actual target here, and the reason for the global demonization of white people in every thriving and successful civilization they have created, is the deliberate dispossession of any and all systems and societies that have Western European Christianity as their foundation.

Axios report: Trump berates Netanyahu in phone call over Israel’s Lebanon offensive
During an “expletive-laden” June 1 phone call, President Donald Trump reportedly called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “crazy” and warned that Israel’s military escalation in Lebanon had turned international opinion sharply against his nation, according to Axios.
Two U.S. officials and a third source briefed on the conversation told Axios that Trump was furious over Netanyahu’s plans to expand operations in Lebanon, including planned strikes on Beirut after Israel pushed deeper into Lebanon than it has in more than 25 years. Netanyahu has said the campaign targets Hezbollah fighters and infrastructure in southern Lebanon, Zeale News previously reported.
“You’re f****** crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your a**. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this,” Trump reportedly told Netanyahu, according to one official who summarized Trump’s remarks to Axios.

Head of Spanish bishops rejects spirit of Amoris Laetitia days before Pope’s visit
Archbishop Luis Argüello outlined certain instances in which reception of Holy Communion were not to take place.
The head of the Spanish Bishops’ Conference has de facto rejected the substance of Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia, writing that Holy Communion is not permitted for married people now living in new relationships.
Issuing a pastoral letter on June 1, to mark the upcoming feast of Corpus Christi, Archbishop Luis Argüello outlined certain instances in which reception of Holy Communion were not to take place.
The Spanish prelate’s letter comes by way of a rare intervention into the issue of who should receive Holy Communion. Not that the Church is unclear on this, but more that Her traditional teaching is often ignored. Argüello wrote:
