Ken Paxton Unseats John Cornyn In Latest Blowout Defeat For Establishment GOP

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton ousted incumbent Sen. John Cornyn during Tuesday’s primary election, in a blowout that punished not just Cornyn but the Republican establishment he represents. The race had been largely viewed as a referendum on establishment Republicans’ reluctance to deliver on popular initiatives like election integrity.

At the time of reporting, Paxton had received nearly 64 percent of the vote compared to Cornyn’s 36 percent, with 65 percent of the vote in, according to the Associated Press.

Cornyn and Paxton advanced to the runoff after neither candidate secured a majority during the March primary. Paxton received President Donald Trump’s endorsement just days before the runoff.

The Texas attorney general is a “Strong Supporter of TERMINATING THE FILIBUSTER and, very importantly, THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, something which polls at 87%, including Dumocrats, and yet can’t seem to get approved,” Trump wrote on Truth Social last Tuesday. The Save America Act would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and implement voter ID requirements, two provisions that voters overwhelmingly support. The bill, however, has languished in the Republican-led Senate since passing the House, as GOP leadership rejected calls to pass the bill by employing a “talking filibuster.”

Vance Hosts State Attorneys General at Anti-Fraud Task Force Roundtable

Vice President JD Vance said on Tuesday during the latest Task Force to Eliminate Fraud roundtable that the federal government will work with state attorneys general to combat fraud.

Vance hosted representatives from 15 attorneys general offices from around the country in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

“One of the things we’ve realized in combating fraud is that the resources of the federal government, while vast, can be supplemented and aided by a lot of the people who know best what’s happening in their states, which is the attorneys general represented here today,” he said.

“They have a lot of legal resources, they have a lot of prosecutorial resources, and of course, they have the desire to prevent fraud as much as we do, and so I appreciate these leaders for being here, because we’re going to work together, state and federal government, to try to combat fraud,” he added.

The partnership between the federal government and states is bipartisan, the vice president said.

“I’m particularly gratified here that this is not a partisan effort. I believe we have a couple of representatives from the attorney generals in Connecticut and Oregon, and as I’ve said repeatedly… this should not be a partisan effort,” he said.

Complaint Accuses L.A.’s Incompetent Mayor Of ‘Blatant Electioneering’

Incumbent Democrat Karen Bass and her band of sadomasochists campaigned at the ballot box, challenger Spencer Pratt alleges.

Perhaps it’s fitting that Karen Bass, who has turned Los Angeles into a lawless hellscape, is now being accused of breaking the law.

L.A.’s far-left mayor and resident fiddler while the city burned led a get-out-the-vote campaign over the weekend that had all the markings of electioneering, according to her opponent Spencer Pratt. The Hills star asserts that Bass documented her election law violations on social media, a little over a week before the city’s primary elections.

On Tuesday, Pratt’s attorney filed a complaint with the Los Angeles City Clerk’s office and the state claiming Bass has violated the city’s restriction on electioneering, soliciting votes, or “speaking to voters on the subject of marking their ballot.”

“Here, as evidenced in her own social media posts, Karen Bass has violated the law by soliciting votes, holding signs asking voters to vote for her, describing the qualifications/process of casting a ballot, and engaging in blatant electioneering directly near a polling place and dropbox location,” states the letter, copied to Los Angeles Executive Officer Ruben Viramontes, and City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto.

‘We don’t use him on social’: Washington Nationals executive caught on camera excluding Catholic pitcher for his faith

A senior Washington Nationals executive was caught on hidden camera saying the baseball team sidelines pitcher Trevor Williams from team social media content because of his Catholic faith and past public criticism of anti-Catholic mockery, according to undercover video released May 26 by the O’Keefe Media Group (OMG).

Sean Hudson, the Nationals’ director of community relations, was filmed by an undercover reporter and did not appear to know he was being recorded.

Williams, a right-handed starting pitcher for the Nationals, is a devout Catholic who has spoken publicly about his faith.

In May 2023, he became one of the first MLB players to publicly condemn the Los Angeles Dodgers’ decision to honor the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence with a “Community Hero Award.” The radical drag performance group of “nuns” routinely mock the Catholic faith and engage in acts of desecration. The group’s actions have included staging a “Hunky Jesus” contest every Easter, burning the Pope in effigy, and equating a contraceptive with the Eucharist.

Williams called the group’s performances “a blatant and deeply offensive mockery” of his religion and the faith of millions of Catholics who live in Los Angeles. His statement drew nearly 20 million views on X.

In the hidden-camera footage, Hudson linked that public statement to the team’s decision to keep Williams out of certain promotional content.

“One of our pitchers, dude, Trevor Williams — he is very Catholic,” Hudson said in the video. “The Dodgers had a group out to the stadium who were drag queens who sometimes dressed up as nuns. He went on social media like, ‘This is wrong. It’s my religion. You all are mocking it.’ Because of that, we don’t use him on social.”

Washington Nationals Director Admits Religious Discrimination Against Pitcher Williams

Hudson admitted on OMG hidden cameras that Washington Nationals pitcher Trevor Williams was intentionally blacklisted from certain team social media content after Williams publicly criticized the Los Angeles Dodgers’ inclusion of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence drag group, which Williams argued mocked his Catholic faith.

Pope urges priests to respect ‘norms of the liturgy’ to avoid confusion at Mass

Pope Leo’s catechesis focused on the Second Vatican Councilʼs constitution, “Sacrosanctum Concilium,” a document that transformed the way Catholics celebrate Mass.

At the general audience on May 27, Pope Leo XIV urged priests to respect the “norms of the liturgy” and not to make changes to the Mass “on their own initiative,” in order to avoid confusing the faithful.

“I encourage all priests to respect the texts and norms of the liturgy with openness, humility, trust in God’s greatness, and with sincere fidelity to ecclesial communion,” the pope said in remarks in St. Peterʼs Square.

The Second Vatican Council “affirmed that legitimate progress in the liturgy must also preserve sound tradition and that certain elements of the liturgy can never change because they are divinely instituted,” he said.
