What does the Trump administration’s shipbuilding initiative mean for the economy?
President Donald Trump is spotlighting a multibillion-dollar shipbuilding initiative in Maryland, emphasizing its potential to boost national security, economic growth, and job creation.
President Donald Trump highlighted a $3.7 billion defense project in Maryland on Tuesday, emphasizing its role in reviving America’s shipbuilding capabilities for national security and economic growth.
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said in a statement the initiative could potentially create “the most jobs in Maryland in history.”
Trump also underscored Baltimore’s importance to the future of America’s Navy.
“With our combined efforts, this will be a golden age like no country has ever seen, and like our country has never seen,” Trump said. “It’ll also be a golden age of shipbuilding.”
The project involves the military technology company Anduril investing more than $3 billion to build components for nuclear-powered submarines at a Baltimore-area shipyard. Administration officials said the government will commit $2.9 billion to the project by purchasing the factory’s output.

Dems and their media pals keep telling everybody they feel just dandy about Michigan.
Well, apparently, they feel so confident that they’re dusting off ol’ Barry, and shipping him off to Detroit.
Obama is heading to Michigan later this month to campaign alongside Marxist Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, whose race against Republican Mike Rogers could help decide which party controls the Senate.
And CNN’s Scott Jennings thinks this Motor City visit is telling us a whole lot more than Dems and their media pals want us to know.
Jennings knows the political game really well. He says parties don’t usually deploy one of their biggest political “celebrities” because everything is going perfectly swell.
They do it because somebody needs help. A lot of help.
And according to Jennings, El-Sayed might need buckets of it.
Jennings says black voters aren’t flocking to El-Sayed, and Obama’s appearance seems like a Hail Mary to try and shore that up.

During Tuesday night’s opening debate of Maine’s pivotal U.S. Senate race, Democratic nominee Troy Jackson found himself backed into a corner over his ties to the Democratic Socialists of America.
When pressed directly on whether he holds membership in the radical organization, Jackson launched into an extended filibuster on healthcare affordability while side-stepping the question regarding his affiliation with the group.
The awkward exchange unfolded when the debate moderator questioned Jackson on his proposal for a policy championed by the Democratic Socialists of America: Medicare for All. Noting that nearly 40% of Mainers hold an unfavorable view of socialism, moderators asked Jackson to clarify whether his support for single-payer healthcare stems from an active membership in the organization.

Blanche Says DOJ Is Using Fraud Laws To Combat Birth Tourism
Despite a Supreme Court setback in June, the Justice Department (DOJ) is working with federal immigration agencies to combat birth tourism by using existing laws, U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche said.
Birth tourism remains a problem, but officials are taking steps to prevent people coming to this country just to have a baby for American citizenship, Blanche told Epoch Times senior editor Jan Jekielek in an interview airing at 9 p.m. ET on Oct. 6.
DOJ is also working with the Department of Homeland Security to strengthen questions asked of travelers about their reasons for entering the country, Blanche said in the interview.
On June 30, the Supreme Court struck down President Donald Trump’s broad birthright citizenship order issued in January 2025, which excluded children of illegal immigrants and legal temporary visitors from automatic U.S. citizenship.
Blanche said the ruling still left room for the administration to act. He said he would use existing enforcement tools rather than wait for Congress to pass laws.
“Those cases can be difficult to prove, but it’s not slowing us down,” Blanche said.

The riots in France last week stand as a warning to the United States and all western countries: mass immigration will split your country in two, and the two sides will eventually go to war.
The unrest, which quickly spread from the suburbs of Paris to encompass much of the country, stood in stark contrast to the scenes just a few days earlier when Pope Leo XIV drew massive crowds at every stop on his four-day papal visit. Some 800,000 people lined the Avenue des Champs-Élysées for an open-air Mass in Paris, catching the media and civil authorities by surprise. France is supposed to be a secular country, after all.
But the pope’s popularity on the one hand, and the riots that erupted across France a few days after his departure, on the other, illustrate the extent to which France today is not a single country or nation. It is not one people. There is ancient France, the true France, which despite the French Revolution and state-enforced secularism is still deeply Catholic, “the eldest daughter of the Church.” That is the France that showed up for Pope Leo.

‘Lepanto’ is a poem by G.K. Chesterton celebrating the victory of the Holy League in the Battle of Lepanto (1571). The poem tells of the defeat of the Ottoman fleet of Ali Pasha by the Christian crusader, Don John of Austria. It was written in 1911. Hilaire Belloc, one of Chesterton’s closest friends, considered ‘Lepanto’ Chesterton’s greatest poem – perhaps the greatest of their generation.
