Two Fierce Trump Loyalists Have Emerged as Frontrunners to Potentially Replace Outgoing Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt
Two prominent loyal defenders of President Trump have emerged as frontrunners to succeed Karoline Leavitt as the next White House Press Secretary, and TGP readers would likely be happy with either.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump on Wednesday announced that Leavitt will be departing her role as White House Press Secretary to spend more time with her young children.
She will now serve as one of Trump’s top outside advisors. …
Hours following Trump’s announcement, The New York Post reported that two front-runners have emerged as potential successors to Leavitt and both are staunch loyalists to the President.
Trump administration sources told the Post that Trump is looking at Alina Habba, who served as a defense lawyer for Trump and as a former acting attorney for New Jersey, and Breitbart Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle.

Catholic social media — in America and around the globe — is reacting with horror and disgust at the scene of women clapping and cheering as Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey signed into law a bill which eliminated all remaining restrictions on late term abortion in the Commonwealth.
That scene occurred on Monday, August 10th, in the Corner Office (the Governor’s Office) of the Massachusetts State House in Boston.
Joining Maura and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll were their friends from the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund, Reproductive Equity Now, and the American Civil Liberties Union.
Maura Healey has other friends however, which some pro-life Catholics — like the ones now calling for her excommunication — might not be aware of. …

Christianity Is Not An Excuse To Be An Effeminate Wimp by Auguste Meyrat
In ‘Offensive Christianity,’ J. Chase Davis argues that asserting your masculinity is good for men as well as the church.
Although the manosphere and the accompanying public discourse on masculinity have now existed for at least 15 years or so, it’s difficult to assess how much meaningful change has come out of it. Perhaps it tamped down particularly obnoxious feminist triumphalism (“shout your abortion,” “the future is female,” etc.) and played a role in reversing popular acceptance of transgenderism. Perhaps it helped some men with approaching women and inspired them to work on themselves. And perhaps it helped society at large take a more critical view of wokeness in popular media, rightly exposing how unnatural, unappealing, and unromantic it is.
However, these positive developments ultimately mean little for younger generations of men — especially white millennials and Zoomers — who have suffered from several decades of systemic misandry. In their case, women have overtaken them in the workplace, academia, and media. This in turn has precipitated a toxic dating culture along with a loneliness epidemic, as men increasingly lack the necessary personal and social capital to thrive in today’s world. Put simply, no employer, woman, or male peer wants to associate with sad, incompetent losers who lack confidence and drive. …
In his new book Offensive Christianity: Restoring the Strength of Men in a Feminized Age, pastor and writer J. Chase Davis seeks to address this issue head-on. He identifies the problem, traces its origins, and then finally offers some practical remedies. While this sounds like many other books on this topic, Davis keeps a tight focus on Christian men and frames his argument around the Gospel. He demonstrates that Christian teachings are indeed compatible with a strong, emboldened masculinity, but they will necessarily challenge today’s sexual norms and thus require men to be willing to “offend” others.

‘The World Is Not Waiting for a Synodal Church’
In an open letter to Pope Leo XIV, Dutch Bishop Rob Mutsaerts says people in the West today need clear and confident proclamation of the Gospel rather than permanent ecclesial consultation.
Auxiliary Bishop Rob Mutsaerts of ‘s-Hertogenbosch has become the latest prelate to criticise synodality, asking what are its fruits and voicing deep skepticism about its entire model — one, he argues, that fails to teach the Gospel authoritatively and clearly at a time when that is most needed.
In a lengthy open letter to Pope Leo XIV published on his website Aug. 13 (see full English translation below), the Dutch bishop makes many significant points, including what he views to be the “greatest tragedy” of the whole enterprise.
He writes:
“The modern world is undergoing an extraordinary spiritual crisis. People are searching for meaning. Young people are searching for an identity. Loneliness is on the rise. Families are breaking down. Technology is penetrating ever more deeply into human existence. Pornography distorts sexuality. Materialism fails to satisfy. Climate change is becoming a surrogate religion for many. People are afraid of death, yet they hardly know what they are living for anymore.
And in the midst of that world, the Church possesses something extraordinary. It possesses the Gospel. The sacraments. The Eucharist. Confession. Two thousand years of wisdom. Scripture. The Church Fathers. Thomas Aquinas. Augustine. The mystics. The saints. An unrivalled tradition of art, music, philosophy, morality and spirituality. And above all: Jesus Christ. …

Why Church leaders fear for Taybeh’s future
Christianity is an ancient presence in the village, which is traditionally identified with the biblical town of Ephraim, where Jesus stayed with his disciples after he raised Lazarus from the dead, as recounted in John 11.
Pope Leo XIV and Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa drew attention at the weekend to the plight of civilians in the West Bank, the Palestinian territory west of the Jordan River.
In his Aug. 16 Angelus address, Leo XIV lamented “ongoing violence against the Palestinian civilian population in the West Bank” and called for new efforts to secure “a just and lasting peace” via the proposed two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The pope made the appeal the day after Pizzaballa visited Taybeh, a Christian village located northeast of Ramallah, the de facto administrative capital of the Palestinian National Authority.
The cardinal’s visit was notable because it coincided with the major feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and came amid significant upheaval in the village that is home to roughly 1,200 people. …
