PRESIDENT TRUMP TO HEADLINE BOTH NIGHTS AT GOP MIDTERM CONVENTION IN DALLAS [Tomorrow]
President Donald Trump will deliver the keynote address at the GOP midterm convention in Dallas on Wednesday and provide additional remarks the following day, according to the Republican National Committee (RNC).
Vice President JD Vance will also provide the keynote address on Wednesday night in a combined effort to increase GOP support before the November midterm elections.
“The Greatest RALLY of them all,” President Trump wrote Friday in a post to Truth Social. “I’ll be speaking on night one, and hanging around for an earlier closing, and lots of music, on night two!!! See you in Dallas.”
Other notable speakers include Trump officials like Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Attorney General Todd Blanche, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Scott Turner.
Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton, who remains in a closely watched Senate race against Democrat James Talarico, will also speak, along with fellow Texans Sen. Ted Cruz and Gov. Greg Abbott.
The 2026 Republican midterm convention is notably the first of its kind, as conventions of this caliber only occur during presidential races.

[German Bishop Wilmer] after AfD win in Saxony-Anhalt: ‘Grave fears have become reality’
Christians voted for the AfD at significantly lower rates than the wider population
Bishop Heiner Wilmer joined Protestant and ecumenical officials Monday in declaring that “grave fears have become reality” following the Alternative for Germany’s landslide victory in the Saxony-Anhalt state election. …
“We call on the election winners to respect the state constitution and the Basic Law [federal constitution] without reservation, and to uphold the dignity of all people regardless of their origin, religion, way of life, achievements, or position,” the Christian leaders said Sept. 7. …
“The AfD fell short of an absolute majority. I urge all democratic parties not to enter into a governing coalition with right-wing extremists under any circumstances,” [Irme Stetter-Karp, the president of the lay Central Committee of German Catholics] commented Sept. 7.

Britain at the Crossroads – Faith or Fracture? by Gavin Ashenden
Migration, democracy and the battle for the soul of a nation. … A rediscovered confidence will become more articulate and more focused about the differences between Marx, Mohammed and Jesus—and about the consequences of allowing our lives and our societies to be built upon their competing visions.
The sudden appearance of anti-migration young men in black balaclavas, walking silently, peacefully and purposefully to block the streets of Dover, developed when the streets of Portsmouth were later that evening filled with residents, some of whom lay down in front of coaches bringing in fresh numbers of illegal immigrants.
The police were taken by surprise in Dover, but they were ready in Portsmouth with riot police to confront the residents; until the native English had to decide whether they would place themselves in a position where the police arrested them under riot legislation, or give way.
They avoided violence and confrontation and finally gave way. But the numbers, the determination and the discipline of both the local people and the young masked men provided an indication that the moment when social conflict between the establishment and the native English is not very far away. …

Emulating yesterday’s protests in Dover, they are gathering to prevent the landing of illegal immigrants who have crossed the English Channel.
The police have not managed to contain them, and now the protesters are taking over the port, with several dozen people arriving every minute. [The English protestors eventually stand down to avoid arrest.]

Cardinal Burke recalls the Battle of Lepanto and ‘immense power’ of Rosary in Amsterdam procession
Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke invoked the historic Battle of Lepanto and the “immense power” of the Rosary as he led hundreds of Catholics in a public procession through Amsterdam on Saturday, following a Pontifical Latin High Mass attended by Cardinal Willem Eijk and Bishop Jan Hendriks.
The September 5 Rosary Rally, organised by Radio Maria in the spirit of Fatima, began at the Church of Our Lady on the Keizersgracht, where more than 600 people attended Mass and others gathered outside. The faithful then processed through the streets of the Dutch capital to Vondelpark, where the Rosary was prayed in several languages before Cardinal Burke addressed those gathered on the meaning and importance of the devotion. …
The Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary were prayed in Latin, Dutch, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, French, Italian and Slovak …
priests heard confessions outdoors while the Rosary was recited. The public nature of the prayer was a deliberate feature of the gathering, with organisers presenting it as an act of reparation and public witness.
Cardinal Burke then gave a conference on the Rosary, focusing on the relationship between prayer, contemplation and the life of Christ. “The repetition involved in the prayer is not monotonous,” Cardinal Burke said, describing it instead as “the repeated expression of profound love”. …
The cardinal recounted a personal memory from his arrival in Rome. Having the opportunity to see the city’s great artistic treasures in person, he was struck by Michelangelo’s Last Judgment, particularly the depiction of two righteous men whose resurrected bodies are drawn towards heaven by a rosary. “This reminded me how powerful the prayer of the rosary is in the Church and how many graces are received through its recitation,” Cardinal Burke said.
