BREAKING: TRUMP SUPPORTER STABBED OUTSIDE OHIO RALLY WHILE PRESIDENT TRUMP WAS SPEAKING, SHOCKING VIDEOS CAPTURED ATTACK AND KNIFE STILL IN VICTIM’S BACK [ARTICLE]

A Trump supporter was stabbed in the back outside President Donald Trump’s midterm rally in Chillicothe, Ohio, on Wednesday night while the president was on stage speaking to the crowd at the Shoemaker Center on the Ohio University Chillicothe campus.

Video posted by Derek Myers shows the victim with a knife still protruding from the left side of his lower back as police officers rush to detain a person nearby.

The stabbing is not shown in this video, which is of the immediate aftermath.

Another witness video captured the fight and stabbing, which appears to have happened as police were attempting to break it up.

It is unclear how the fight began.

The Scioto Valley Guardian confirmed that police detained one individual.

Officials had not released the victim’s condition, the identity of the person detained, any charges, or confirmed any details about the incident as of late Wednesday evening.

The report notes that police had removed protesters from inside the venue earlier in the evening.

DOJ INTENSIFIES ‘AGGRESSIVE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION’ INTO ALASKA’S SECOND DAN SULLIVAN [ARTICLE]

Federal prosecutors are investigating how Daniel J. Sullivan Jr. landed on Alaska’s U.S. Senate ballot alongside Republican incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan, with grand jury subpoenas expected as investigators examine whether voters’ rights were violated, according to Fox News.

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, relaying reporting from colleague David Spunt, wrote Wednesday on X that the criminal investigation has been underway for months and has gained urgency following a New York Times investigation into efforts by Democrat operatives to recruit the senator’s namesake.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Alaska is handling the inquiry, according to Spunt’s reporting. Investigators were preparing to seek preservation of communications held by phone companies and expected to issue subpoenas in the hours and days ahead.

Prosecutors want to establish the sequence of events that brought Sullivan into the race and are examining possible offenses involving the deprivation of Alaska voters’ rights, the report said. The investigation is expected to continue beyond Election Day.

The inquiry predates Wednesday’s revelations. ABC News previously reported that federal authorities were examining possible wire fraud or a conspiracy involving the fairness of the election process. At the time, it was unclear who could face charges.

WHAT DID ILHAN OMAR’S FATHER DO IN SOMALIA? BY JIM GERAGHTY [ARTICLE]

On the menu today: A follow-up to Friday’s edition of this newsletter, which tried to get to the bottom of the basic question of what year Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar was born. … Friday’s Jolt briefly mentioned the representative’s father, Nur Omar Mohamed, and his leading a regiment in the Somali army during the Somalian invasion of Ethiopia in 1977. What we know of Nur Omar Mohamed’s military career makes it very doubtful that he met the U.S. legal definition of a “refugee.” Read on.

In Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar’s memoir, This Is What America Looks Like, she mentions her father, Nur Omar Mohamed, frequently, but her only description of her father’s profession in Somalia was that he was “an educator.” She more specifically described her late mother’s profession (“a secretary for a government minister”) and her grandfather’s profession (“a government job, helping run the country’s network of lighthouses.”)

A reader might be surprised, a few pages later, when Omar mentions, “Our family of civil servants and teachers was well off enough to have a guarded compound and driver. But I didn’t like the attention I received from the other kids for the in-your-face privilege of our white Toyota Corolla and our driver, Fatah.”

At the time Somalia was one of the poorest countries in the world; a reader might well wonder what kind of a family of teachers and lighthouse managers could afford a guarded compound and driver. Later in the book, describing how the country’s conflicts spurred her family to flee, Omar describes someone attempting to break into the compound. “After about an hour of quiet, we heard a massive volley of gunfire at the gate. Bullets — loud, loud, bullets — banged over and over at our gate.” …

DEMS LOSE IT AFTER TRUMP SMUGGLES BOLSONARO OUT OF BRAZIL FOLLOWING ‘RIGGED’ ELECTION BY KYLE BECKER [ARTICLE]

The Democrat Party has gotten the back of every Third World supposed “asylum” seeker who has found his way into the United States for the past decade.

But the confirmed arrival of a political dissident who has been targeted by a communist regime for no other reason than that he dared to challenge the authoritarian socialist in charge?

That is apparently a bridge too far for the Marxist Democrat Party.

Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro officially arrived in the U.S. after fleeing his home country following a disputed election and a controversial Supreme Court order to surrender his passports.

But his arrival is already generating a political fight in Washington, where Democrats, including Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro, are demanding answers about the Trump administration’s decision to welcome him.

The 45-year-old Brazilian senator landed Wednesday morning at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, accompanied by his wife and two daughters.

VANCE COURTS IRAN HARD-LINER AS TRUMP THREATENS NEW STRIKES [ARTICLE]

Vice President JD Vance has opened a diplomatic channel with one of Iran’s most powerful hard-liners in a bid to revive stalled peace negotiations, even as President Donald Trump threatens renewed military strikes after next week’s midterm elections, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

Vance sent a letter to Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and a former longtime commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as Washington explores whether an agreement could avert another round of U.S. attacks, according to U.S. officials and people familiar with the discussions.

The outreach, reportedly authorized by Trump, comes amid mounting political and economic consequences from a war that has lasted far longer than the administration initially suggested, frustrating voters and complicating Republican efforts to retain control of Congress.

CARDINAL VESCO SAYS CATHOLIC CHURCH IS ‘NOT THERE TO CONVERT’ IN INTERVIEW ON EVANGELISATION [ARTICLE]

Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco has said the Church is “not there to convert”, arguing that proselytism is “poison” and that Christians should approach other religions through fraternity rather than seeking conversions

Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco has said that the Catholic Church is “not a proselytising Church, not a Church that is there to convert”, arguing that its role is to form part of Algerian society rather than seek religious conversions.

In an interview with Belgian Catholic media outlet CathoBel on 23 October, the Archbishop of Algiers said: “We are the Church of this people. Not a proselytising Church, not a Church that is there to convert, but a Church that aspires to be one of the components of this people.”

Cardinal Vesco has repeatedly questioned whether evangelisation should be understood as an effort to bring people from other religions into the Catholic Church. Later in the interview, His Eminence said: “In monotheistic religions, proselytism is poison, because it implies considering the other person’s religion false.” The French-born Cardinal illustrated his objection by imagining someone who praises another person while disparaging their religious beliefs, arguing that such an approach “puts an end to dialogue”.

ARCHBISHOP OF DETROIT CALLS OUT VOTER SUPPRESSION AHEAD OF MIDTERMS: ‘IT’S AN AFFRONT TO GOD’ [ARTICLE]

Less than two weeks out from the midterm elections, Archbishop Edward Weisenburger of Detroit offered a sobering reminder about the importance of participating in and preserving democracy.

“We’ve seen threats and acts of intimidation at voting locations. We have seen gerrymandering and voter suppression like closing polling locations in communities of color,” Archbishop Weisenburger said, addressing a group of parishioners and visitors at Gesu Catholic Church in Detroit on Oct. 21. “And while some might say, ‘Well, that’s just politics,’ I say, ‘It’s an affront to God.’”

“Just as the Catholic Church stands with immigrants, so too are we called to stand against racism and voter suppression,” Archbishop Weisenburger said.

The archbishop joined the event, a “Vigil for Voting,” with other faith leaders from southern Michigan—four Protestant pastors, a rabbi, an imam and a Sikh community leader—to call out divisive political rhetoric and voter suppression while encouraging attendees to make a stand for democracy.
