PRESIDENT TRUMP: CHEERLEADER-IN-CHIEF BY LARRY ELDER [ARTICLE]

In 2014, President Barack Obama, during the last midterm of his presidency, was 53 years old. He did seven rallies, four of which took place in October. In 2022, President Joe Biden, during his only midterm election, was 79 years old. He largely avoided traditional rallies. President Donald Trump, during the last midterm of his presidency, is 80 years old. So far in this month of October, he has held 23 rallies.

Biden was widely criticized for failing to do more campaigning. ABC News’ Jonathan Karl asked Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., then-chair of the House Democrats campaign arm, why Biden was not hitting the campaign trail harder. Maloney replied, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Maloney described a Biden campaign stop in his district in Poughkeepsie, New York. Karl was unimpressed: “I recall in 2010 President Obama doing 16 rallies all across the country in the month of October alone.”

As for President Obama, in October 2014, his approval rating was at 40%, according to an ABC/Washington Post poll, the lowest score in that poll since Obama entered office. Two weeks before the 2014 midterms, CNN wrote, “President Barack Obama says his feelings aren’t hurt by Democrats who don’t want to campaign side-by-side with him because those candidates are ‘strong allies and supportive of me’ when casting votes in Congress. … Obama’s remarks could harm endangered red-state Democrats and offer a boost to Republicans who need to capture six seats to gain control of the Senate for the president’s final two years in office.”

TRUMP TO ‘ELECTRIFY’ VOTERS IN TWO RESCHEDULED RALLIES [ARTICLE]

President Donald Trump’s canceled rallies to Kansas and Iowa are back on. He will galvanize supporters in both states in back-to-back rallies on Sunday, a source familiar with the matter told the Daily Signal.

Trump’s in-person rallies this weekend were canceled and replaced with tele-rallies in order to reach more voters.

However, the rallies are now back on the schedule.

“President Trump loves his supporters, and in addition to nearly 20 tele-rallies, he will hold back-to-back rallies in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday,” the source familiar said. “No one works harder, fights harder, or loves the American people more than President Donald J. Trump. The rallies were rearranged for scheduling purposes to accommodate dozens of additional tele-rallies that were recently added to the president’s schedule.”

ABDUL EL-SAYED TELLS REP. HALEY STEVENS TO STAY AWAY FROM HIS CAMPAIGN — AS FEUD BOILS OVER DAYS BEFORE MIDTERM [ARTICLE]

A simmering feud between Democratic Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed and his former Michigan rival is boiling over in the walkup to Tuesday’s midterms, with the controversial Democrat telling Rep. Haley Stevens to stay away from his campaign events.

The spat reignited publicly after Stevens, who lost to the Israel-hating El-Sayed by just 1% of the vote in the Democratic primary, demanded he apologize for saying “Israel is the reason Michigan cannot afford schools, health care, and child care.”

In a lengthy statement Friday, Stevens welcomed his “expected condemnation” of an “antisemitic campaign advertisement” featuring a Michigan couple complaining about high food prices and attributing it to US military support for Israel. …

El-Sayed’s camp is asking Stevens to stay away from future events, Stevens’ fiancé Jason Turkish, who has endorsed Rogers, told Fox News.

PRESIDENT NAWROCKI TURNS PLANE AROUND, RUSHES BACK TO WARSAW TO STOP COUP ATTEMPT [ARTICLE]

Polish President Karol Nawrocki had to rush back to Warsaw, turning his plane around over Spain on his way to Senegal to block an attempted judicial coup at the country’s highest court. The night brought physical clashes inside the Tribunal, rival judges claiming control, reports of plans to detain his chief of staff and a rapidly deepening political crisis.

A deep political crisis erupted in Poland after President Karol Nawrocki turned his Senegal-bound aircraft around over Spain to prevent an attempted coup d’état in Warsaw. The situation remained volatile early on Saturday, 31 October, as rival judicial factions claimed control of the Constitutional Tribunal and prosecutors were reportedly considering detaining a senior presidential official.

Nawrocki landed in Warsaw before 10pm and consulted Tribunal President Bogdan Święczkowski and Supreme Court First President Zbigniew Kapiński. Shortly before 1am, he arrived at the court with Kapiński, where tensions turned into a physical confrontation.

Footage showed pro-Tusk judges Krystian Maskiewicz and Anna Korwin-Piotrowska trying to block Nawrocki from passing and pushing through a doorway. ‘You are not judges of the Constitutional Tribunal,’ the president was heard saying, while his chief of staff, Zbigniew Bogucki, accused Korwin-Piotrowska of attempting a coup.

THREE BABIES BORN ALIVE AFTER ABORTION PILLS. ONE DIED. AND NOW WE MUST CONFRONT THE LAWS WE CREATED [ARTICLE]

Georgia. North Carolina. South Carolina. Three cases that expose an increasingly urgent question about abortion pills, babies born alive, and criminal accountability.

For years, I have warned about what would happen as abortion pills became increasingly available online, delivered through the mail, and taken without an in-person medical examination or ultrasound to confirm gestational age.

What happens when those pills are taken at 20, 24, or even 27 weeks of pregnancy?

What happens when the baby is born alive?

I have repeatedly raised the possibility of abortion pills being involved in disturbing cases of premature deliveries and babies discovered in toilets or trash cans. And I have repeatedly heard the response: “We don’t know abortion pills were involved.”

Sometimes that caution is warranted. We should never substitute suspicion for evidence.

But now we have three actual cases, involving abortion pills, babies born alive, criminal investigations, and legal questions that should concern everyone who believes babies deserve protection.

PRIEST [IN LEBANON] SAMIR DAOU FOUND MURDERED AFTER GOING MISSING [ARTICLE]

Priest Samir Mikhael Daou, who served the parishes of Hsoun and Ferhet in the Jbeil district, was found murdered after going missing on Wednesday afternoon, Jbeil MP Simon Abi Ramia told L’Orient Today on Wednesday.

According to LBCI, Daou’s family found his body inside a house he owned in his hometown of Ain Jrain (Jbeil), with visible signs of blood. Daou did not regularly live at the house, LBCI reported, adding that the Internal Security Forces’ Criminal Investigation Department arrived shortly afterward and launched an investigation, collecting fingerprints and other evidence.

“Initial information suggests that suspicion had fallen on Syrian workers who were helping Daou harvest his olives before he disappeared,” Abi Ramia said.

One of the workers allegedly took the priest’s car and fled after the killing. Security forces are working to track down the suspect and determine his
