Russia Hoax Conspirator James Comey Indicted For Obstruction, Lying To Congress

A grand jury indicted former FBI Director James Comey on Thursday on two counts: false statements within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch and obstruction of a congressional proceeding.

The indictment, which was brought by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia, centers on alleged false testimony Comey provided to Congress in September of 2020 about his handling of the Russia collusion hoax.

Trump Signs ‘All-of-Government Effort to Dismantle Left-Wing Terrorism,’ Antifa

President Donald Trump signed a memorandum Thursday directing an “all-of-government effort to dismantle left-wing terrorism” and Antifa.

“These are professional agitators, these are bad people and they’re paid a lot of money by rich people, some of whom we know,” Trump said of Antifa.

White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller called the move “historic.”

“This is the first time in American history that there is an all-of-government effort to dismantle left-wing terrorism, to dismantle Antifa, to dismantle the organizations that have been carrying out these acts of political violence and terrorism,” he said.

Soros nonprofit says DOJ investigating terrorism links ‘without evidence’

Open Society Foundations, the philanthropic group founded by billionaire George Soros, is pushing back against reported efforts by the Trump administration to investigate it for allegedly supporting terrorism, calling the initiative a politically motivated abuse of federal power.

The group issued a statement on Wednesday in response to a New York Times report revealing that a senior Justice Department official directed multiple United States attorneys to draw up plans for criminal charges against Open Society. Those potential charges include arson, racketeering, and material support for terrorism.

Police investigate flyers at Georgetown recruiting for far-left gun group tied to violence

United States Secretary of Education Linda McMahon announced that police are investigating a number of posters displayed on Georgetown University’s campus that appear to be recruiting students for a leftist gun club linked to violence.

One of the flyers makes references to words allegedly written on a shell casing by Charlie Kirk’s suspected assassin, Tyler Robinson. The poster reads: “Hey fascist! Catch!” It further advertised itself as “the only political group that celebrates when Nazis die.”

Trump Says TikTok Will Be ‘American-Operated All The Way’ Under New Deal

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday aimed at ensuring TikTok becomes “American-operated all the way,” he said.

After months of delaying the enforcement of a law banning TikTok, Trump announced a new framework facilitated by his executive order, which would transfer ownership of the social media platform from China to a group of American investors. Congress passed a law in 2024 to either ban the Chinese-owned TikTok or force its sale due to national security and privacy concerns.

“This is going to be American-operated all the way,” Trump said as he signed the executive order. “I have great respect for President Xi, and I very much appreciate that he approved the deal, because to get it done properly, we really needed the support of China and the approval of China.”

The Chicago public school system is offering “family planning” services and condoms to students as young as 12.

Under school system policy, schools teaching 5th grade and up must make condoms “freely accessible” to all students 12 and older, according to The Daily Signal’s review of the district’s website.

The system also requires schools to refer students 12 and up to “confidential reproductive and sexual health services,” which they can access without parental consent or notification.

Chicago’s Catholic Cardinal to Honour Durbin, as USCCB Maintains Silence on Kirk Assassination – essay by Bree A. Dail

Cardinal Blase Cupich has doubled down in his plans to honor Sen. Dick Durbin, a Democrat whose long record of supporting abortion rights stands in direct defiance of Church teaching, with a Lifetime Achievement Award this November.

The decision has drawn sharp criticism from fellow bishops and reignited questions over the priorities of the U.S. Catholic hierarchy, especially as the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops remains silent on the recent assassination of Christian political leader, Charlie Kirk.

Avowed Catholic falls short in Irish presidential bid

Maria Steen, a barrister who publicly upheld Church teaching during referendum debates on abortion, same-sex marriage, and the definition of the family, fell just short of winning the support of 20 members of the Oireachtas, Ireland’s bicameral legislature, which would have enabled her to stand in the Oct. 24 ballot.

Steen, a mother of five who sought to run as an independent candidate, gained the backing of 18 Oireachtas members. But she was unable to obtain two more signatures ahead of the Sept. 24 qualification deadline.

Historically, it is difficult for a candidate who is not aligned with Ireland’s main political parties, such as Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael, to qualify for the presidential election.

Bethlehem mayor asks Pope Leo for help to stop Gaza war

Bethlehem’s mayor has met Pope Leo XIV to deliver a stark account of the plight of Christians in the Holy Land and to appeal for urgent intervention to stop the war in Gaza.

He said the Pope assured him of his closeness and told him, “My heart is in Gaza, my heart is with you.”
