Chairman Rand Paul Releases Final Report Detailing Secret Service Failures in Attempted Assassination of President Donald J. Trump

[Sunday], U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, released his final report detailing failures by the United States Secret Service (USSS) that allowed the July 13, 2024, attempted assassination of then-former President Donald J. Trump during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, to nearly succeed. The report exposes a disturbing pattern of denials, mismanagement, and missed warning signs—some occurring just minutes before shots were fired.

On July 13, 2024, a gunman climbed onto the roof of the American Glass Research building near the Butler Farm Show rally and opened fire, striking four individuals, including President Trump, and killing firefighter Corey Comperatore. …

The report from the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs found that the Secret Service “denied or left unfulfilled at least 10 requests” from Mr. Trump’s detail for “additional resources,” including an enhanced counter drone system, counter assault team personnel and counter snipers.

Widow of killed fire chief [Helen Comperatore] not satisfied with Secret Service suspensions over Trump assassination attempt

“Suspending them when my husband was killed? You know, that’s not punishment,” Helen Comperatore said as she held back tears in an emotional Saturday interview with “FOX & Friends Weekend.”

Trump’s American-born worker boom

Employment is up since President Donald Trump took office. But the surface numbers actually hide just how good the Trump economy has been for American workers.

Overall, the number of employed people in the United States has increased by 1.5 million since January of this year. But that topline number includes both foreign-born and American-born workers.

Miranda Devine: Epstein drama is an unnecessary distraction for Trump admin – and plays into the hands of malign Dems

Dissident Catholic organization that advocated for married priests shuts down after 50 years

The Corps of Reserved Priests United for Service (CORPUS) announced this week that they disbanded late last year due to low membership after advocating for the Latin Church to allow married priests and other heretical reforms for over 50 years.

In a July 6 article first published in the National Catholic Reporter, CORPUS announced that it had closed in December 2024 due to the old age of many of its current members and a lack of new, younger members joining the organization. The heterodox apostolate, founded in 1974 and not recognized by the Catholic Church, had supported the ordination of married men to the priesthood, ordaining female “priests,” and allowing the faithful to use birth control.

Flight attendant fired over expressing Catholic beliefs can proceed with lawsuit

A Catholic flight attendant who says United Airlines fired him after he endorsed Catholic teachings on marriage and gender identity while talking with a co-worker can proceed with his lawsuit against his union for not standing up for him, a federal judge has ruled.

The flight attendant, Ruben Sanchez, of Anchorage, Alaska, claims the airline investigated his extensive social media posts only after receiving what he describes as “baseless accusations” arising from a red-eye flight conversation in May of 2023 — and that when the company came up with nothing that violated its social media policy, it terminated him anyway.

Transplant Facilities Greatly Expanded in Xinjiang—For More Organ Harvesting

On July 3, the International Coalition to End Transplant Abuse in China (ETAC) raised alarms about a worrying trend: the potential increase in forced organ harvesting from Uyghurs. This concern follows a recent announcement by health officials in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region about plans to greatly expand their organ transplant facilities.

The official announcement details a new plan to build six more organ transplant hospitals in Xinjiang by the year 2030. Critics are worried that this expansion is excessive and lacks the necessary transparency, especially given China’s troubling history of forced organ harvesting.

A professor at Eastern Maine Community College (EMCC) attacked and discriminated against a Christian conservative student for writing an essay about gun control with which the liberal professor disagreed.

The EMCC student, Katherine Parker, joined WVOM’s George Hale and Ric Tyler Show on Wednesday to discuss the incident, which resulted from a rough draft for an essay she submitted for an English class at the college taught by the English department head Carol Lewandowski.

The assignment was meant to be a persuasive speech in response to an editorial, and Parker chose one written by columnist Douglas Rooks and published in the Portland Press Herald entitled, “Maine Legislature derelict in its duty on ‘red flag’.”
