Trump Proposing ‘Game Changing’ 50-Year Mortgage to Tackle Home Prices

The Trump administration is “indeed working on” a plan to introduce 50-year mortgages for home buyers, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte announced Saturday.

“Thanks to President Trump, we are indeed working on The 50 year Mortgage – a complete game changer,” Pulte wrote in a statement on the social platform X.

The director included a graphic from a Truth Social post by President Donald Trump from earlier in the day showing a portrait of former President Franklin D. Roosevelt next to one of the current president with their mortgage lengths.

Roosevelt established the fixed-rate 30-year mortgage as part of his New Deal to help Americans recover from the Great Depression.

Trump campaigned on creating housing opportunities for younger and first-time buyers, but the U.S. has seen housing prices and mortgage rates remain high.

Zohran Mamdani Vows to Shut Down Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers

Zohran Mamdani is now the Mayor-elect of New York City. During his campaign, he “vowed to ‘protect New Yorkers from’ pro-life pregnancy centers which he accused of spreading ‘false or deceptive information.’” His threat refers directly to CompassCare.

CompassCare runs the only three pro-life medical pregnancy centers in all of New York City. His threat mimics the lawsuit brought by pro-abortion activist Letitia James, New York’s Attorney General, who endorsed Mamdani’s mayoral bid. …

The Christian pro-life pregnancy network is already managing lawsuits with New York State Legislation, lawsuits with New York City ordinances, lawsuits from New York Attorney General Letitia James, Big Tech censorship, and security concerns of a resurgence of pro-abortion violence, emboldened by the revolutionary rhetoric from Marxist politicians in Democrat clothes.

Jimmy Lai’s son: I am so grateful to Trump for pressing Xi

The son of Jimmy Lai, the Hong Kong businessman and newspaper owner on trial for challenging Communist Party rule in the territory, has thanked President Trump for raising his father’s case with President Xi last week.

Sebastien Lai has been appealing for his father, who is not in good health, to be allowed to go into exile rather than facing a lengthy prison sentence at the end of his trial for sedition. Jimmy Lai was arrested under new national security laws imposed on Hong Kong by Beijing.

Trump administration officials have said that the case was raised by the US president during his 90-minute meeting with Xi in South Korea last week.

Mass celebrated again at ancient St. Maron’s Shrine in Syria after 15-year silence

For the first time in over 15 years, the Maronite Church in Syria celebrated a solemn Mass at the ancient shrine of St. Maron in the village of Brad, northwest of Aleppo.

A pilgrimage to the site, organized by the Maronite Scouts, drew more than 80 participants, young and old, reviving one of the most sacred Christian sites in the region known as the “Dead Cities.”

Father Ghandi Mahanna, who led the liturgy, reminded worshippers that “the true presence of God is found in every human heart,” urging them to live faith through love. …

Accompanied by security forces ensuring safe passage, the pilgrims expressed hope that religious tourism to Syria would soon revive, reaffirming that “Syria was beautiful, and still is.”
