Trump Begins Georgia Rally with Epic Troll ‘I Am Here to Announce My Candidacy’
President Donald Trump trolled political opponents and the media at the beginning of his speech in Georgia on Wednesday by saying that he was there to announce his candidacy.
Trump teased that he would run for the presidency for a fourth time while delivering remarks at Wheeler High School in Marietta.
“Well, thank you very much, everybody. It’s a special place, and I am here to announce my candidacy,” the president said before taking a long pause.
“I’m only kidding,” he clarified after intense cheers from the crowd. …
The comments came weeks after he said aboard Air Force One in late October that a ticket of Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in 2028 would be “unstoppable.”

DOJ Demands Answers On New Jersey Voter Roll Scandal
Democrat Gov. Mikie Sherrill claims a software ‘glitch’ caused 6,600 illegal registrations, leading to some 400 foreign nationals voting.
… The U.S. Department of Justice would like some more details on New Jersey’s voter registration debacle in which a “software error” reportedly led to some 6,600 noncitizens being added to the Garden State’s voter rolls in 2023 and 2024.
Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division, is giving New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill and Lt. Gov. Dale Caldwell five business days to turn over “additional information to assess New Jersey’s compliance with various federal statutes.” …
Dhillon wants the names of the 6,600 individuals identified — their “full names, dates of birth, nationalities, residential addresses, and registration dates and locations.”
Sherrill divulged the “glitch” Tuesday at a press conference in which she unironically accused President Donald Trump of making “bizarre conspiracy theories about fraud with no evidence” as the Democrat announced evidence of noncitizens on her state’s voting rolls. …
But the tech company, IDEMIA, told the New York Post that New Jersey officials had access to the same information on the noncitizens “but apparently registered them to vote anyway.” Reportedly, the software the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) used to automatically register individuals to vote when applying for driver’s licenses and other ID failed to block the noncitizens from the list even though the applicants noted on their forms that they were not U.S. citizens.

AFTER ATTORNEY PRESSED FOR TRANSPARENCY, VATICAN ANSWERS RUMORS OF RUPNIK’S ALLEGED ACQUITTAL
The Vatican has pushed back against reports that former Jesuit Father Marko Rupnik has been acquitted in his Vatican criminal trial. In a July 22 statement, the Vatican said rumors of an acquittal are “completely unfounded” and confirmed the canonical trial is still under review. Officials said judges continue examining evidence from dioceses, the Jesuits, alleged victims and media reports.
The press release came a day after Laura Sgrò, a civil and canon lawyer who represents five women who have accused Father Rupnik of abuse, rebuked the Holy See’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, saying she and her clients have no information about the case, and they had not been informed whether the trial even began.
On July 20, Italian website Messainlatino.it reported that Father Rupnik, a well-known mosaic artist accused of abusing several women, may have been acquitted.
“INCREDIBLE! We have learned from persistent and highly authoritative sources that the criminal trial underway in the Vatican against Father Marko Ivan Rupnik has concluded in his favor,” the website said.
On July 22 Matteo Bruni, director of the Holy See Press Office said in a statement to journalists that “With regard to certain reports that have appeared in the media in recent days, I reiterate that the news concerning any decision by the judges presiding over the case of Rev. Marko Ivan Rupnik is completely unfounded,” and that “the review of the case is still ongoing, and the panel is examining documentation provided by the dioceses involved, the Jesuits, the parties concerned, and from the press.”

Christians across China are facing intensifying persecution under Xi Jinping’s regime. Recent months have seen a severe crackdown, leading to a multitude of arrests and an even wider campaign of harassment and intimidation.
It is no exaggeration to say that this is the darkest time since the Mao era for Christians — Catholics and Protestants — and it shows no sign of easing any time soon.
Earlier this week, The Telegraph published an in-depth report by its correspondent Allegra Mendelson, titled “Christians are disappearing for worshipping a God other than Xi.”
That headline sums up what is at the heart of the persecution — a deification of Xi along Maoist lines. A Pyongyang-ization of China, turning the cult of personality into idol worship. A ruthless determination to root out, punish and destroy anyone who worships anything other than Xi and his interpretation of the Chinese Communist Party’s doctrines.
What The Telegraph has reported is not new. It has been building up over the past decade.
Ten years ago, Xi launched his “Sinicization of religion” campaign, which, despite its name, has nothing to do with what Catholics would consider legitimate “inculturation.” It is rather an effort to co-opt, coerce, control and corrupt religion so that it becomes simply another wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s “United Front Work Department.”
