Magnitude 7.4 quake rocks western Colombia, killing at least 111 people
A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, killing at least 111 people, damaging hundreds of buildings and leaving many trapped under debris while their loved ones and rescue workers searched through rubble.
Search teams and civilians picked through the remains of destroyed buildings in the country’s third-largest city, Cali, passing large pieces of concrete and other rubble down a long line of volunteers.
“Our building has basically been left in ruins, and the building next to ours? Completely collapsed,” said Álvaro López, who cradled his dog as he watched the search. The desperate scene recalled the searches still ongoing in neighboring Venezuela weeks after that country was devastated by two powerful earthquakes.

Trump Targets Childhood Vaccine Schedule With Sweeping New Executive Order
President Trump signed an Executive Order Monday designed to increase the confidence of American families in the vaccine schedule recommended for their children.
With a flick of the pen, the president ushered in a new era that will, according to a White House fact sheet, “maximize parental choices over vaccinations for their children and align three categories of childhood immunizations with scientific evidence and best practices from peer, developed countries.”
“Effective immediately,” the president commented during the signing ceremony, “my administration is recognizing gold standard childhood vaccine recommendations for only 11 core vaccinations against the most serious and dangerous diseases, along with the MMR, which hopefully will be split up.”
President Trump, who was flanked by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and National Institutes of Health (NIH) Director Jay Bhattacharya, added, “Parents can still choose to give their children all of the vaccinations if they wish. There are some groups that have virtually no problem with autism, and they, you know, I have to say this: they’re groups that aren’t big into the world of vaccines.”

Bombshell texts reveal Fauci privately said COVID-19 vaccine could in theory pose miscarriage risk
The texts occurred weeks before Dr. Anthony Fauci said there were “no red flags” for vaccination during pregnancy, and the senators who publicly released the texts also spotlighted a concern raised by an OB/GYN who argued in 2022 that COVID-19 vaccines posed an 82% miscarriage rate.
U.S. Sens. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and Rand Paul, R-Ky., revealed Aug. 10 that Dr. Anthony Fauci privately raised a theoretical concern in January 2021 about miscarriage following COVID-19 vaccination, weeks before publicly saying federal regulators had found “no red flags” regarding vaccination during pregnancy.
“I asked around a bit more and another issue came up that you need to be aware of,” Fauci wrote in a Jan. 25, 2021, text. “Since many people have significant cytokines storm and fever after the 2nd dose, this theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester.”
“Definitely a good point, esp after dose two,” then-CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky replied.
Johnson’s office published the exchange as part of a series of text messages obtained from Fauci’s government-issued phone. The conversation involved Fauci, Walensky and then-Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy.

Byzantine Catholic layman calls out Massachusetts governor’s signing off on abortions up to birth
“The best thing the bishops of Massachusetts could do, save from a formal excommunication of the governor, is to call for a week of prayer, fasting, and abstinence for the crimes against humanity committed by their so-called ‘Catholic’ governor.”

Jesse Romero’s latest
In this gripping episode of the Jesse Romero Show, a Catholic priest shares his raw, real-life encounters with human trafficking victims right outside his parish in a tough Phoenix neighborhood. He describes approaching a young woman who appeared only 14 years old, shaking with fear and dressed for street work, and learning she was being trafficked. The conversation reveals how a simple act of compassion, offering a bulletin and a rosary, led to a life-changing meeting years later under the papal cross. Jesse discusses the importance of lay Catholics engaging in bold evangelization, prophetic preaching, and spiritual warfare. The episode also promotes an upcoming course on Christian faith and demonology through the Holy League Institute, rooted in Church documents to equip believers against darkness. Listeners will be inspired to become spiritual warriors for Christ and His Church.

140 Doctors and Nurses Tell [UK] Parliament to Defeat Assisted Suicide Bill
More than 140 doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers in Yorkshire have called on MPs to reject the new assisted suicide Bill at its Second Reading on 11 September, calling it “unsafe”.
The healthcare professionals, including GPs and consultants, have signed a letter urging MPs and the Government to reject the legislation.
In the letter, they state, “Whatever individuals’ views on the principles of assisted dying, we are united in our analysis that this bill is not safe for patients”.
The healthcare professionals reveal that they are “deeply concerned” about the return of the assisted suicide Bill, referring to many of the concerns that have been raised about the proposals by medical professional organisations, including the British Medical Association, the Royal College of Physicians, and the British Geriatrics Society.

Flashback: EWTN 2025 Interview with now murdered UK Catholic Convert Ann Widdecombe
Ann Widdecombe is a former Conservative MP, Minister of State, author, and one of Britain’s most outspoken political voices. In this interview with EWTN’s Colm Flynn, Ann reflects on her unusual upbringing moving between places due to her father’s military work, her decision to enter politics, and her long career built on conviction rather than popularity. She speaks candidly about her outspoken conservative views, her faith journey and conversion to the Catholic Church, and the great honour of being made a Dame of the Order of St Gregory the Great by Pope Benedict XVI in 2013 for her services to politics and public life. Now in later life, she also shares her reflections on mortality, legacy, and why she has always believed in doing what is right rather than what is easy. Whether you admire her convictions or disagree with her politics, this is a fascinating and unfiltered insight into a woman who has never been afraid to stand her ground.

Spain: After Mass Migrant Invasion, 5 Girls Under 14 Reportedly Raped In Ceuta
Health sources have confirmed that Ceuta University Hospital has treated at least five girls over the past week for alleged rapes following the mass migrant invasion of Ceuta last month.
All the girls are Moroccan and were reportedly under the age of 14 when they were raped, with an emergency doctor verifying the cases and noting that many of these minors are sleeping on the street because of a shortage of places in shelters.
Susana Ascaso, an emergency-room doctor at Ceuta University Hospital, confirmed in an interview published by the Spanish outlet El pueblo de Ceuta that her service is dealing with cases of rape involving migrant girls.
She described the victims as 14-year-old minors who remain on the street because reception centers for minors have no available places.
“It’s not that we refuse to receive them, it’s that there is no room for them,” the doctor said. …
Judicial sources also added that several attempted sexual attacks were prevented by the intervention of local residents.
Ascaso described the entire situation as a “health disaster,” with her department receiving an average of “300 to 400 migrants a day” while operating with the same staff and resources that existed before the massive migrant crisis in July.
After being discharged from the hospital, most patients have nowhere to go. She also warned of the risk of epidemic diseases.
“We do not know if people arrive with tuberculosis, hepatitis or other types of diseases that, today, we will not be able to detect either,” she said.
Meanwhile, the people of Ceuta are also competing for medical care with the migrants.

WNBA boxed into a corner: Former NBA stars declare intention to join the ‘women’s’ league
The WNBA faces a significant crisis as former NBA players declare their intention to join the league, challenging its eligibility criteria regarding transgender athletes. This situation highlights a critical loophole in the league’s collective bargaining agreement, which fails to define what constitutes a woman, raising questions about fairness and inclusion in women’s sports. The response from the league indicates a deeper philosophical conflict within modern liberalism, as it struggles to balance the values of fairness and inclusion.

Without revealing the motives of the abductions or the terms of their release, the sources said break-away members of the rebel Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) were responsible for the kidnappings.
Pastor Tia was released along with his family members – two sons, ages 17 and 20, a 15-year-old nephew and Daniel Ibrahim Tia, brother of Catholic priest Fadi Ibrahim Tia. Fadi Ibrahim Tia is also the brother of Pastor Yaqob Ibrahim Tia. …
Sudan is 93 percent Muslim, with adherents of ethnic traditional religion 4.3 percent of the population, while Christians constitute 2.3 percent, according to Joshua Project.

St. Clare of Assisi and the Poor Clares
This documentary features two programs. First, St. Clare of Assisi reveals the extraordinary life of St. Clare, a woman who reached the highest summits of Christian mysticism, who knew how to defend her decisions alone and who built a social reality that still challenges the centuries. Along with medieval harmonies composed by Oscar-winning musicians, the exquisite photography explores all of the sacred places in and around Assisi that characterize the life of Clare and that of Francis. The testimony of a Poor Clare in the 40-minute documentary, moreover, exemplifies the figure of Clare in today’s world. The second program, included as a bonus, is Poor Clares: A Hidden Presence. More than twenty thousand women today follow the example of Clare of Assisi in monasteries scattered throughout the world – the cloistered convent, a city in prayer and a hidden presence with a love with reserve for all of humanity. The Poor Clares present in this 30-minute documentary speak of their realization as women, mothers and sisters inside the closed walls of a monastery.
