Vance expresses optimism and preaches patience in Israel as ceasefire worries grow
Vice President JD Vance expressed cautious optimism Tuesday that peace will hold between Israel and Hamas despite recent violence that threatened the fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire.
“What we’ve seen the past week gives me great optimism the ceasefire is going to hold, and if we get from where we were a week ago to a long-term, durable peace between Israel and Gaza, there are going to be hills and valleys,” Vance said at a news conference to announce the opening of a civilian military cooperation center in southern Israel.

US military opens coordination center in Israel for Gaza stabilization and aid efforts amid ceasefire
Five days after world leaders endorsed a U.S.-brokered plan to end the Israel-Hamas war, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on Friday opened a Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in southern Israel to serve as the main hub for Gaza stabilization efforts.
The CMCC is designed to support stabilization efforts, according to a news release.
Sources told Fox News last week that roughly 200 U.S. troops had arrived in Israel, along with a C-17 transport plane packed with command-and-control equipment and supplies.

House Judiciary Committee Refers John Brennan To DOJ For Criminal Prosecution
The House Judiciary Committee referred former CIA Director John Brennan to the Justice Department for criminal prosecution on Tuesday over allegations that he “knowingly made false statements” to Congress about his role in the Russia collusion hoax.
In the letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi obtained by The Federalist, Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, argued that “Brennan made numerous willfully and intentionally false statements of material fact contradicted by the record established by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) and the CIA.”

Why Senate Republicans ‘Cheered’ at Trump’s New Shutdown Advice
Republican senators were relieved when President Donald Trump urged them to remain steadfast in refusing to negotiate with Democrats until they vote to reopen the government, Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., told The Daily Signal.
“The president encouraged us all to remain steadfast, and we cheered when he said that,” Daines said in a phone interview following Republicans’ Tuesday meeting with Trump. “We just need the Democrats to come to their senses and realize that they’ve got to start paying the troops, the [Federal Aviation Administration] controllers, [Transportation Security Administration] agents, and others who depend on the federal government.”
When asked if Trump indicated that Republicans would need to cave to Democrats’ demands to pass the continuing resolution, Daines said, “You don’t negotiate when they take the government hostage.”

Democrats Double Down Support for Jay Jones Despite Support for Assassination
As national discussion surrounding political violence has intensified, Democrats are continuing to endorse a candidate who admitted to sending text messages calling for the death of a Republican opponent and his family. Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.) is the latest Democrat official to double down on supporting Democratic nominee for Attorney General of Virginia Jay Jones, despite the candidate’s violent rhetoric.
Kaine has repeatedly refused to withdraw his endorsement for Jones’s campaign, insisting, “I’m still supporting Jay Jones.” In an interview Sunday, the senator was asked if his position was hypocritical and whether or not he would insist that a hypothetical Republican who made similar violent comments should retire his campaign.

7-Minute Heist – ‘Woke to blame for Louvre robbery’: Female museum security chief accused of being a ‘diversity hire’ comes under fire as politicians say heist has made France ‘the laughing stock of the world’
The Louvre’s head of security has been accused of being a diversity hire who put France’s national treasures at risk, following the shocking heist of Napoleonic jewellery over the weekend.
Dominique Buffin, 46, was hired as the Louvre’s first female security chief by Laurence Des Cars, the museum’s first female director, last year.
But Buffin, who has worked with the police and at France’s ministry of culture, was accused of being hired as part of a ‘feminisation policy’.

Five Traditional Pontifical Liturgies to Be Celebrated in Rome and the US
Despite continuing suppression of the traditional liturgy — which appears to be concentrated in some dioceses of the United States — four cardinals and an archbishop are to celebrate five traditional pontifical liturgies in Rome and the U.S. over the next month.
At 3 p.m. this coming Saturday, Cardinal Raymond Burke will celebrate a pontifical Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica as part of the annual “Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage” attended by traditional Catholics from around the world. The cardinal last celebrated a pontifical Mass for the same event in the basilica in 2014.

JOHN PAUL II AND THE BEGGAR PRIEST: A True Story
Scott Hahn shared the following true story on April 25, 2001, on “Mother Angelica live.” This story was related to Dr. Hahn by his spiritual director. He heard the story while in New York City visiting a priest who is in the Archdiocese of NY. This priest related the story of what happened on his last trip to Rome.
The priest was scheduled to have a private audience with John Paul II. On the appointed day, the priest decided to stop in a basilica to say a prayer. On the steps of the church, he thought that he recognized one of the beggars.
