Violence against Eastern Christians is growing with ‘diabolical intensity,’ says Pope Leo
Violence against Christians in the East “seems to be raging … with a diabolical intensity previously unknown,” according to Pope Leo XIV.
The pontiff said it was “truly distressing” to see the principle of “might makes right” prevailing in so many of today’s situations, “all for the sake of legitimizing the pursuit of self-interest.”

Supreme Court Rules South Carolina Can Defund Planned Parenthood
The Supreme Court has ruled 6-3 that South Carolina has the right to defund the Planned Parenthood abortion business. The pro-life state wants to be able to block taxpayer funding for the abortion business under Medicaid, but the abortion company sued to block that action.
Today, the Supreme Court ruled South Carolina has the power to block funding. In the decision, written by Justice Neil Gorsuch, the Supreme Court said Medicaid laws do not give individuals the right to bring federal lawsuits against states.

Supreme Court says Maryland parents can pull their kids from public school lessons using LGBTQ books
The US Supreme Court ruled on Friday that Maryland parents who have religious objections can pull their children from public school lessons using LGBTQ storybooks.
The justices reversed lower-court rulings in favor of the Montgomery County school system in suburban Washington. The high court ruled that the schools likely could not require elementary school children to sit through lessons involving the books if parents expressed religious objections to the material.
The decision was not a final ruling in the case, but the justices strongly suggested that the parents will win in the end.

12 Killed In Mass Shooting At Religious [Catholic] Celebration In Mexico
Twelve people were killed overnight in the Mexican state of Guanajuato when gunmen opened fire on a celebration in the city of Irapuato, authorities said Wednesday.
People were dancing and drinking in the street in celebration of St. John the Baptist when the shooting began. Revelers screamed and ran to escape the gunfire, according to videos circulated online.
Irapuato official Rodolfo Gómez Cervantes said in a news conference Wednesday that the number of victims had risen to 12. Some 20 others were wounded.
