Breaking: Islamist Fulani Militia Kill 7 Christians, 4 Police Officers in Benue State

Military Stood Down, But Police Ran Toward the Danger: Eyewitnesses – ‘It Would Have Been Worse than Yelewata Massacre without Police’

As Americans mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, residents of northeast Benue State are mourning 11 locals killed in a new ethnic-cleansing assault Thursday.

More than 200 heavily armed Islamist Fulani Ethnic Militia (IFEM) invaded Ayilamo in Tombo Precinct at about 4:50 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2026, killing eight Christian residents and four Mobile Police officers who confronted the attackers, according to community officials and eyewitnesses.

Ayilamo, about 112 miles (180 kilometers) northeast of Benue’s capital, Makurdi, is an agrarian community that residents say is about 98 percent Christian, predominantly Catholic. They report repeated attacks by Fulani Ethnic Militia entering from neighboring Taraba and Nasarawa states.

The violence is part of a broader security crisis in Nigeria’s Middle Belt. The Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa has attributed nearly 24,000 civilian deaths to Fulani militias during a four-year reporting period.

Charlie Kirk memorial statue vandalized at TPUSA headquarters with red spray paint

The Charlie Kirk statue outside of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) was vandalized just days after the one-year mark of the assassination.

Phoenix Police received calls about the vandalism at the late conservative activists’ memorial in Tempe just after 8 a.m. on Sept. 13.

Red spray paint covered the 8-foot-tall bronze statue, which was unveiled on Sept. 10 at TPUSA’s headquarters near 48th Street and Beverly Road. The paint covered his face and the area on his neck where he was shot at Utah Valley University. A sad face can be seen on the torso, while red covered the left hand and hats. On Kirk’s memorial, an X covered his face, while the word “Jesus” was seemingly crossed out.

TPUSA said they plan to restore the statue and replace the signs. By Sunday evening, the statue was cleaned off.

Court says Chicago Archdiocese, Catholic sisters won’t have to submit to state suicide law

The Catholic objectors will be shielded from the law while a federal lawsuit plays out against the state policy.

The Archdiocese of Chicago and a group of Catholic religious sisters won a temporary reprieve against Illinois’s assisted suicide law this week, with a federal judge ordering the state not to enforce the law against the Catholic objectors while a federal lawsuit continues.

U.S. District Judge Franklin Valderrama’s Sept. 11 order said the state would be blocked from enforcing the suicide law against the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm and the Little Sisters of the Poor who had brought the lawsuit. …

The Catholic objectors brought the lawsuit on Sept. 3, arguing that the suicide law infringes on religious liberty by requiring Catholics to participate in helping patients end their own lives. The lawsuit was filed by lawyers with the religious liberty law firm Becket.

Flashback: Pope Pius XI (b. 1857 d. 1939) on Communism

‘Communism, moreover, strips man of his liberty, robs human personality of all its dignity, and removes all the moral restraints that check the eruptions of blind impulse. There is no recognition of any right of the individual in his relations to the collectivity; no natural right is accorded to human personality, which is a mere cog-wheel in the Communist system’ – Pope Pius XI

Air Force colonel shot down over Iran [in April 2026] reveals desperate prayer in 50-hour fight to survive

The aviator known as ‘Bravo’ survived a 70-to-100-mph fall, three broken bones and a 50-hour enemy manhunt

Bravo says he hit the ground at “somewhere between 70 and 100 miles an hour,” breaking his back, arm, and shoulder. He described his survival as a “modern-day miracle” and a “testament to God’s provision in my life to bring me through that moment in a way that didn’t prevent injuries, but prevented any catastrophic injuries that would have affected my ability to survive.” He continued, “I’m grateful eternally for knowing that He was there with me.” – from 60 Minutes interview

An Air Force colonel shot down over Iran survived a terrifying fall, three broken bones and a two-day enemy manhunt after turning to God as his damaged parachute sent him plunging toward the desert.

The colonel, identified only by his mission call sign “Bravo,” revealed in a new interview with CBS News’ “60 Minutes” how a desperate prayer began an extraordinary 50-hour fight to make it home alive.

“At one point when I looked up and saw no parachute, that was the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen,” Bravo said in his first public account of the April ordeal.

“So I paused, right then, and I prayed, ‘Lord, your will be done. But if I’m getting through this, I need help.’” …

Boy, 15, Survives Alone on Capsized Boat in Frigid Alaskan Waters After Family Drowns

“He was sitting on his knees, just praying the whole time,” his brother Darren Toolie-Noongwook told NBC News. “He said he believed he was going to make it.”

A 15-year-old boy miraculously survived the unthinkable: a harrowing two days atop an overturned fishing boat in Alaska’s frigid Bering Sea, enduring darkness, bad weather, and 50-degree water before rescuers finally found him.

Derek Parker Aghnaanga left the remote village of Savoonga on St. Lawrence Island on September 4th with his 35-year-old brother, Sidney Kulowiyi, and a cousin for a halibut fishing trip aboard an 18-foot skiff. The boat was expected home early Sunday. It never arrived. And tragically, the 15-year-old boy’s family members would die before rescue.

According to Aghnaanga’s family, conditions deteriorated Saturday night. Sidney was attempting to get his younger brother a life jacket when he became tangled in lines as the skiff flipped. Aghnaanga and his cousin managed to climb onto the overturned hull, but Sidney was lost. The cousin remained with Aghnaanga through the night before eventually slipping away and drowning.

Today is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

‘The feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross celebrates two historical events: the discovery of the True Cross by Saint Helena, the mother of the Emperor Constantine, in 320 under the temple of Venus in Jerusalem, and the dedication in 335 of the basilica and shrine built on Calvary by Constantine, which mark the site of the Crucifixion. The basilica, named the Martyrium, and the shrine, named the Calvarium, were destroyed by the Persians in 614. The Church of the Holy Sepulcher which now stands on the site was built by the Crusaders in 1149. However the feast, more than anything else, is a celebration and commemoration of God’s greatest work: his salvific death on the Cross and His Resurrection, through which death was defeated and the doors to Heaven opened.’
