Could Trump Derangement Syndrome be the final nail in the coffin of the West?

Trump rallies turn out tens of thousands. Biden speeches turn out dozens.
So, what's going on? We've asked the question before in this column — How is Biden even close at this point with the lowest rated presidency on record?
There is no doubt that Trump supporters are near fanatical in their support for the 45th President of the United States, and they are very vocal about it — in person and on social media.
However, could it be the case that on the other side — coiled up like a snake under the table waiting to strike — is a huge contingent, even more than Trumpies suspect — with a hatred of Trump so intense, that they will turn out to accomplish nothing more than make sure he doesn't win; even at the risk of returning America-destroying Biden to the White House; their own 401Ks be damned?
Trump supporters seem to have correctly identified what they term, TDS — Trump Derangement Syndrome — a reaction to Trump (even the mention of his name) where the person suffering from it appears to lose all sense of logic and reason.
Even within official Republican circles, we hear constantly about the "Never-Trumpers."
Were we ever entertained by the "Never-Obamas" or the "Never-Hillarys"? There's a clue right there as to what's going on — the fact that this intense intraparty hatred the "Never-Trump" crowd holds for Trump, never seems to emerge on the Left. And they certainly don't go on political programs granting interviews denouncing them.
Whereas Trump supporters get analyzed and psychoanalyzed and examined and opined over, ad nauseum — almost every conclusion being negative — Trump-haters are never put under the microscope. Why should they escape the same level of scrutiny?
Can it be that it's too difficult to study a person or a trend from the perspective of negativity? Trumpies are "FOR Trump", but the hate Trump crowd is "for NOT Trump." That's pretty slim pickins' when it comes to classification of a group. ("Please identify yourself by what you DON'T like.")
As a result — there is no anti-MAGA cause. You can't call the local anti-MAGA headquarters and speak to the manager. The Left is massively splintered — either left, far left, alt-left, way left, way far left or way way far left.
Yet with all this division, they are able to gloss over it and intensely unite against Trump — why?
Middle-of-the-road types insist they were put off by his "mean tweets," saying things directly, being aggressive and so forth. But those assessments always smacked of being somewhat disingenuous. Giant political movements don't form around negative reactions to someone's personality. You simply don't vote for the guy, and then get on with your life.
Yes — many people don't like the man himself. Whatever you want to label him — immoral, brash, big-mouthed, mean, etc.
But, Bill Clinton was getting sexual gratification in the Oval Office from an INTERN — something corporate America would have expelled him for on the spot — yet he is still adored by Democrats.
When it comes to the competition for being mean, Joe Biden would give Trump a good run for his money – and likely win. He screamed at Americans through the entire State of the Union address. He yelled at reporters at an impromptu press conference after the Robert Hur DOJ report was released. He screamed at a middle-class voter, "I don't work for you!"
Ol' Joe ain't some sweet grandpa — yet no one seems to care about his mean, grouchy old man demeanor. He gets a pass on this, like Clinton gets a pass on oral sex in the Oval Office.
Communist-Democrats live in a world of double-standards, and not just when they are running corrupt prosecutions and investigations.
Because Western Civilization is bound up tightly and inseparably from Christianity, and specifically, Catholicism.
The Catholic Church — with its theological view of man and his God-given dignity, converting of the barbarians, the preserving of Greco-Roman philosophy, transcribing of sacred scripture, building of the monasteries, building of hospitals, erecting of cathedrals, instituting of political order — the Church built, really created, Western Civilization — and Her fingerprints are all over it.
Weak-minded people, political milquetoast types, follow individuals — are all wrapped up in personalities (one way or the other.) Strong men devote themselves to causes, and when they sense a leader who can advance their cause, they join ranks. Regardless of the man — they understand the mission.
Well, over on the Left, they operate the same way. They sense mission; they smell it on the wind and swarm toward it. They care nothing about the man, the leader, the kingpin or his evil or sins or peccadillos. It matters nothing to them about him (see Obama) — regardless of his shortcomings. They care about only one thing — can he help deconstruct Catholic/Christian morality so as to advance their hatred of the Church/Christ.
They would throw themselves off buildings if they thought it would bring down the moral order. But they would delight even more in throwing you off a building. Short of that, they will back a leader or a party or a movement that will harass you, bully you, intimidate you, censor you, cancel you, accuse you, arrest you, charge you, imprison you — and when the times comes — execute you!
The demonic has built a fortress here on earth and its gates are well-guarded. Daily it launches attacks against the sons of men, tearing their souls apart, capitalizing on their emotional pain, their hurts, their dispositions and appetites for sin and self-medication.
As they peer over the wall, they see the most unlikely of men approaching their gates. He himself doesn't seem to understand the full reality surrounding him — but they do.
They know the motivations of the man and those 74 million behind him, however imperfect they might be or inarticulately they might be expressed.
This is what the anti-Trump crowd is all about. Nothing less.
