Israeli forces strike Catholic Parish in Gaza, two dead, priest injured

The Holy Family Church, the only Catholic Church in the Gaza Strip, was hit by a tank this morning, seriously injuring four people. Others were reportedly wounded more lightly, including the parish priest, Father Gabriel Romanelli. Two people have since died from their injuries.

Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, earlier spoke to Vatican News: “What we know for sure is that a tank, the IDF says by mistake, but …

New Hampshire’s Rep. Thibault demands transparency from FBI over targeting of Catholic communities

New Hampshire state Rep. James Thibault, a Republican, filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the FBI July 14, seeking records related to a Biden-era memorandum that targeted traditional Catholic communities.

The request focuses on a 2023 memo from the FBI’s Richmond, Virginia, field office that flagged “radical traditionalist” Catholics as potentially linked to violent extremist groups. The memo implied that the FBI had infiltrated and spied on Catholic groups.

Syrian bishop: ‘Syria is at its end’ and Church ‘only reference for hope’

As Christian persecution continues in Syria and people continually lose trust in the government, a leading Catholic prelate in Syria has said that the Catholic Church is the “only point of reference for hope” in the nation.

“Jesus wants His Church to remain in Syria. And the idea of emptying Syria of Christians is certainly not the will of God.” Such were the recent words of Archbishop Jacques Mourad to Fides News Agency, the Vatican’s official news site of its Pontifical Mission Societies.

Trump signs legislation toughening fentanyl-related drug penalties

President Trump on Wednesday signed legislation aimed at cracking down on illegal fentanyl and toughening prison sentences for those who traffic the drug.

Shut Down Open-Air Drug Markets by Christopher Rufo

Several years ago, I directed a short documentary on the homelessness crisis in San Francisco. As part of my reporting, I visited the Tenderloin neighborhood and was shocked to see Honduran gangs operating an open-air drug market in the middle of the city. The existence of these markets was common knowledge. Reporters, activists, and city leaders would acknowledge them, shrug, and say that nothing could be done.

I found such fatalism appalling. Allowing transnational gangs to sell fentanyl in the streets is a choice. But considering the political realities, the city elites were right. They were not interested in enforcing the law or challenging the orthodoxies of social justice activists, who were fighting to “decarcerate, decriminalize, and depolice.”

Grenell: ‘Gavin Newsom Lied’ About Palisades Fire Land Grab

U.S. Special Envoy for Special Missions Ric Grenell accused California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday of lying about the state’s intention to conduct a “land grab” within the areas hit by the Los Angeles fires.

Grenell’s accusation, the latest salvo in a fight between the administration and the governor, came as local residents were in an uproar over Newsom’s plan to build low-income housing on some fire-ravaged lands.

Tom Homan Has Some Choice Words For The California Bishop Who Said Illegals Can Skip Mass

Asked about a Catholic bishop in California who told illegal immigrants they no longer have to go to Sunday mass, White House Border Czar Tom Homan did not mince words.

“This is BS,” he told The Daily Wire in response to news that San Bernardino Bishop Alberto Rojas issued a decree on July 8 dispensing those in his diocese from attending Mass “due to potential immigration enforcement actions by civil authorities” if they have “genuine fear of immigration enforcement actions.”

Homan dismissed the announcement, saying, “I do not know of a single incident of a church arrest.”

America Is Not A ‘Nation Of Immigrants’

This insidious slogan is once again being used by Republicans to justify another amnesty bill.

A group of congressional Republicans have joined Democrats in an effort to push through an amnesty bill by performing two cheap tricks: repeat the tired trope that we’re a “nation of immigrants” and redefine “amnesty” as “dignity.”

The bipartisan bill, dubbed the DIGNITY Act, was introduced this week by Republican Florida Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, who has lately been on a media tour to promote what she calls, falsely, “a revolutionary bill that offers the solution to our immigration crisis.”

Student Suspended for Using the Term “Illegal Alien” Wins in Court

In June 2024, Restoration News reported on woke ideologues in a North Carolina public school who suspended Christian McGhee for using the term “illegal alien.” McGhee’s family filed a lawsuit against the school district, and their attorney recently announced a settlement in favor of the McGhees.

Central Davidson High School suspended Christian for asking a clarifying question on a classroom assignment regarding the term “alien.” He questioned whether the teacher meant “space alien” or “illegal alien?” The school called that a “racially motivated” comment to disrupt class.

If Trump Restricts Mifepristone, Clinicians Are Ready to Pivot to Misoprostol-Only Abortions

For decades, clinicians relied on the gold standard of medication abortion care: a two-pill regimen. Mifepristone is taken first, followed by misoprostol 24 to 48 hours later.

However, misoprostol can be used alone for abortion. Recent research on patients in the U.S. confirms that misoprostol-only abortion is not only safe and effective, but that patients respond positively to using it.

Tell New York Governor Kathy Hochul to Veto Bill Legalizing Assisted Suicide

The New York State Senate’s passage of the Medical Aid in Dying Act has sparked urgent calls from pro-life advocates for Governor Kathy Hochul to veto the legislation, which would legalize assisted suicide in the state.

Critics warn the bill, approved by a 35-27 vote on June 9, 2025, endangers vulnerable populations and undermines the sanctity of life.

The bill, which passed the New York State Assembly in April by a vote of 81-67, now awaits Hochul’s decision.

Make Abortion Great Again? – Commentary

On July Fourth weekend, a photograph made the rounds on social media. Cynthia Nixon, the actress and activist, lounges in a boat, smirking at the camera. Perched jauntily on her head is a red baseball cap with the words, “Make Abortion Great Again.” You would be hard-pressed to find a photo that more perfectly encapsulates the current Democratic party: rich, entitled, deranged.

It’s worth taking some time to deconstruct this photo. Looking beyond the smug, superior smile, we encounter an apparent female, representing perhaps “the death of the patriarchy,” and no doubt also the end of “toxic masculinity,” and the triumph of the feminization of our culture. …

Bishop Schneider calls on Pope Leo to ‘free the Latin Mass’

Bishop Athanasius Schneider has decried the suppression of Traditional Latin Masses (TLM) around the world as an “injustice” and called upon Pope Leo XIV to “free” the TLM.

In a Sunday interview with the bishop, Christopher Wendt of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Fatima brought up the TLM crackdown prompted by Pope Francis’ document Traditionis Custodes, which triggered a cascade of TLM closures continuing even into the papacy of Leo XIV.
