Musk Offers To Pay TSA Salaries, Trump Threatens To Deploy ICE As Democrats Hold Paychecks Hostage

In addition to Elon Musk offering to cover TSA workers’ paychecks during the ongoing shutdown, President Trump has threatened to place U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at airports if Democrats don’t agree to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). …

The Department of Homeland Security shutdown entered its 36th day on Saturday after Senate Democrats blocked yet another funding bill for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Transportation Security Administration, and other federal agencies, triggering weeks of chaos at airports nationwide, including long TSA checkpoint lines during the peak of the spring break travel season.

Early Saturday morning, Elon Musk, closely tracking the DHS funding lapse, wrote on X that he would personally pay the salaries of TSA agents to get them back to airports and help avert further chaos.

“I would like to offer to pay the salaries of TSA personnel during this funding impasse that is negatively affecting the lives of so many Americans at airports throughout the country,” Musk said.

Trump Says No Deal Should Be Made on DHS Funding Until SAVE Act Passed

President Donald Trump said that while Democrat lawmakers want to make a deal to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), he feels there should be no deal made “until they approve” the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

In a post on X, Hannah Brandt, a Washington, DC, Correspondent for NewsNation, shared that during a phone call with Trump, she asked him, “How long he’s prepared to have” U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at airports. Brandt’s question to Trump comes after he announced over the weekend that if Democrats do not agree to fund DHS, he will place ICE agents at airports where “they will do Security,” including arresting illegal aliens.

“In a phone call just minutes ago President Trump told me Democrats want to make a deal on DHS funding but he doesn’t ‘think any deal should be made on this until they approve save America,’” Brandt wrote.

“First I asked him how long he’s prepared to have ice agents help out at airports,” Brandt added. “He told me, ‘For as long as it takes.’”

Shakespeare’s birthplace to be ‘decolonized’ after British researchers say his work enables ‘White supremacy

The organization overseeing museums celebrating English playwright William Shakespeare’s life is reportedly working to “decolonize” his legacy in the name of battling White supremacy.

The Telegraph reported that Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust, a British nonprofit in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, is working toward “decolonizing” its collection of Shakespeare-related artifacts to “create a more inclusive museum experience.”

In recent years, critics in the UK have been scrutinizing aspects of its history, even down to criticizing the use of the term “Anglo-Saxon” to describe the native peoples for which England was named. Now Shakespeare, despite being born in 1564 and largely writing plays that took place in Western Europe, is being scrutinized for his alleged impact on colonialism.

The process of decolonizing Shakespeare’s work reportedly includes researching “the continued impact of colonialism” on world history and the ways in which “Shakespeare’s work has played a part in this.” The effort, which roughly means distancing work from western perspectives, reportedly began after concerns were raised that celebration of Shakespeare enables “White supremacy.”

Nigerian Catholic Archbishop to Trump: Give our Nation Intel and Weapons to Combat Violence

Archbishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama of Abuja, Nigeria, has requested intelligence assets and weaponry from U.S. President Donald Trump to combat violence in the country.

The Nigerian prelate made his remarks during an informational briefing in Madrid, where the pontifical foundation Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) presented the campaign “May Persecution Not Have the Last Word: Heal Nigeria,” which aims to strengthen faith, heal the trauma caused by violence, and protect the persecuted.

Kaigama noted that the U.S. president was “the first head of state to declare as a global leader, clearly and unequivocally, that Christians in Nigeria are being persecuted.”

“We thank him,” noted the archbishop, who lamented that for years, only organizations like ACN had spoken out against the situation amid the silence of Western nations.

Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem remains closed

Israeli authorities closed Jerusalem’s Church of the Holy Sepulcher as part of wider closures for security concerns, beginning Feb. 28, when Israel and the United States launched attacks against Iran.

A statement from the head of Israel’s Civil Administration confirmed that “all holy sites in the Old City of Jerusalem, including the Western Wall, the Temple Mount and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, will remain closed … for security reasons in light of the current tensions in the region.”

Joseph Hazboun, regional director of the office of CNEWA/Pontifical Mission for Palestine in Jerusalem, said the decision was framed as a precaution against potential attacks and to prevent mass gatherings during a period of heightened alert.
